Just to comment on Black Fencer's accuracy to the originals, I have a collector friend with several 1803 Pattern Flank Officer's Sabres and one of them has a blade absolutly identical to my Black Fencer 1803 in both length, width and curvature. Weight is within 20g and point of balance within 1cm. Absolutely amazed when I compared them.
I was concerned about the longevity of the BF steel gen edges but good to know that the blade is still usable after several years of sparring. Thanks for the review!
@danielnunez7424 with unmodified old type reddragons I would have to say no. That said I did use them for a long time. But also had a finger broken. I would recommend Thokk gloves for any steel sabre sparring.
@@sarimnerhistoricaleuropean5242 Thanks I just bought an authentic 1840 Heavy Cavalry Sabre. (Antique) It’s called the Wrist Breaker, because it’s so heavy. I wonder how difficult it would be to custom make a HEMA safe replica?
@@robertvondarth1730 we have tried some sparring with nylon 1796. And even if on the light side, they do hit like a freight train at times. And thats just nylon. Black fencer has a steel sparring version of the 1796. Just sayinging going full tilt you might break something or.. someone. 🙃
