Terrific review, you never missed a thing. I am not surprised by that. The quality of your videos just gets better all the time and that is one great product. Not sure we need one but....
Thank you for the detailed review. From an avid "Ontario" follower who takes the advice (for purchases) from those 'in the field' before purchasing anything. Am gaining a much better insight into Prov Parks thanks to you guys! Booked Charleston for this week!
We recently purchased the Bouge 45 litre. We brought it to MacGregor Point last week and we used one side a freezer. (We camp in a pop-up, and keeping things cold for a week is always a challenge.) The Bouge was a game changer for us! We even packed ice cream bars and they stayed frozen the entire week! We are considering investing in the battery for our next trip.
Hello! Love watching your videos! Just wondering if you could do a video on easy camping meals or meals you make while camping? We always have our go to meals but want to see what others do🙂
Thank you Ben for the review. I just ordered and not only is there a discount from Bouge, but it accepted your discount code on top of that. Sadly my van 3-way fridge is trash. Only works well when pugged in. Terrible for travel days and boondocking. I think my batteries should be able to handle it plus my small BLUETTI 🤞
Thank you for the very detailed review Ben. I am impressed with the low power draw on this unit. I have a Koolatron cooler and it is not very efficient at all, as well it runs all the time and the fan makes an annoying humming sound. One question I have.....does this make any noise ? Especially if I wanted to have it in the backseat of the truck. One thing I have done is put a blanket on my regular coolers to assist in the insulation. Cheers and you two enjoy the summer.
When the compressor comes on I can hear a fan noise similar to the fan noise from our old Mobicool auto cooler. I wouldn't say it's a humming sound but more like the fan sound on a laptop computer. When the compressor turns off it's silent. The compressor is off a lot more than it's on, so it's silent most of the time.
@@CampingwiththeColes Thanks for the reply Ben. I used your code COLES26 it works perfect. I ordered the Aspen 40 cooler (26 percent off) and battery (25 percent off). What a great discount and the Bouge RV site has great security features for ordering. Off to Charleston Lake Provincial Park tomorrow. Yahoo.
I just ordered the 45quart model today. I watched this video and a few others and put it on my watch for list. We have been bringing a 75 quart yeti the last few years but because its always being opened for drinks it goes through ice like crazy. Hoping this is much better😂
I have to be honest I was dissapointed that it wasn't a park review. But, because we love the Coles we watched. What a surprise! Very informative and honest review. Whoever the designer of this unit was knew their stuff, its perfect for campers! Right away we thought about those in tents, pop ups and non electric sites. You changed my mind Ben.....gear reviews are good also. 😉😊
@@ronarempel9081 hahaha, good. I'm glad you liked it. To be honest with you, gear reviews help us to do more camping videos because we make some money from them and that keeps us going.
@@ianlindsey3616 yep. The Jackery can handle 500 watts and this uses a max of 60 watts. The BougeRV battery in the video is 220 watt hours and the Jackery is 518 watt hours.
We have a bourgerv electric cooler too, but a different model. It can be a freezer or cooler. Works awesome and no more fooling with water and ice in the cooler. I have to set mine at 37F in order to not freeze our beverages!! Lol I have a smaller ecoflow solar generator that will run it fri to sun. These are great units. Good review. Love the deep freeze section in your unit.
I have a question ( not cooler related) in a previous episode you mentioned an air pressure monitor you have for your trailer tires. What brand was it and do you recommend it… thanks
I have a Tireminder Solar Powered TPMS. Here is the link for it amzn.to/4cL74Kb. Here is the video review I did for it ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_X-ObcmkH-0.html. The video is from a few years ago and I still highly recommend it. It saved us a couple of times. The peace of mind it provides is well worth it.
We met you at the Toronto trailer show, you gave us a Cole’s magnet. Since then we’ve bought a rockwood high wall A213. No metal for magnet. If I send you my address could you send me a few stickers… thx
Sorry about the confusion. It automatically goes to the US site. At the top right you can click for Canadian prices and it takes you to the Canadian site. I'm pretty sure shipping works there.
@CampingwiththeColes That worked. Thanks. I entered COLES26 but it said it could not find that code. It automatically gave me FS25 which is 25% discount though.
@@GrandpaD-mb2lm yeah, after I got your last message I tried to do it myself. I've contacted BougeRV to get a link directly to the Canadian site and to get the code working for the Canadian site. Thanks for letting me know. Hopefully I can get it straightened out quickly.
Are you allowed to keep the portable fridge out overnight or when you're not at your campsite? Unattended outside coolers aren't allowed at any of the provincial parks we stay at. Given the size of our camper fridge and the fact that it's normally only the 2 of us, we don't even bring out good cooler with us anymore, since we have to keep putting it away.
It depends on where you're camping and what you're keeping in it. In bear country or any time we are keeping food in it we keep the portable fridge in the back of our truck and run an extension cord out to it. In many of the southern Ontario parks it's ok to keep it outside if there isn't any food in. We usually just have our drinks in it. If a racoon opened it up, it would only find cans and bottles which wouldn't be of interest to it.
@CampingwiththeColes That must be the difference. We camp in northern Ontario, and bears know that a cooler holds food. And if they open it to find drinks, they will drink your beer and pop. They're like annoying camp moochers with sharp teeth and claws. If we ever get camping further south, we will remember to bring our cooler.
Yep, bears are smart and if they've ever gotten food from a cooler they'll always remember and check in coolers even if they're empty or not giving off a scent.
