BZ-58-2 in the World of Tanks is a Chinese promotional tier 9 heavy tank. It does not have the mechanics of jet boosters, but, like all cars for tokens, it received a built-in large repair kit. In the article we will compare it with other level 9 heavyweights, show the perks, and analyze the best options for equipment assemblies and field modernization.
Work on the creation of the BZ-58-2 was carried out in the 2nd half of the 1950s as part of the concept of “border covering tanks”. The peculiarity of the technique lies in the combined hull: a cast frontal part with large armor angles, and welding was used for the rest of the hull. One of the vehicle options involved the installation of a round cast turret.
The tank is a promotional item, the only way to get it is to buy it for 24 tokens, which can be earned by completing chapters in the Battle Pass.
The BZ-58-2 has a 130 mm caliber gun with a one-time damage of 520 units, which is quite nice and higher than many of its classmates. Regarding ammunition:
basic armor-piercing projectile 250 mm (1050 m/s);
special (gold) projectile 303 mm (1250 m/s);
68 mm high-explosive fragmentation projectile (1050 m/s) - you can carry a couple with you.
Basic armor penetration is not the worst, but in a battle with “tens” this will not be enough. Gold subcalibers are good for level 9. Both types of projectiles have high flight speeds.
It is worth noting the excellent accuracy at 100 meters as for the 130 mm 0.35 gun, however, it has poor stabilization and a long gun aiming time of 2.88 seconds. You have to pay for a large alpha with a long reload, so the damage per minute is an average of 2155 units.
BZ-58-2 has a large supply of hit points - 1900 units. The hull armor is distinguished by a cast 70 mm VLD with a good angle of inclination of the armor, so the adjustment increases to 300 mm. The joint between the VLD and NLD is made from 225 mm, the lower frontal part is large, so be sure to try to hide it.
The turret looks interesting - a cast form of 230 mm nominal armor, depending on the angle, can give up to 400 mm reduction and practically does not penetrate the forehead. The gun mantlet has no vulnerabilities, and the roof is 50 mm, so according to the 3-caliber rule, it can ricochet gun shells up to 150 mm.
Two commander's cupolas are located at the rear of the tower, so it will be difficult to target them, and one of them is covered by a machine gun.
The BZ-58-2 has a small mass, so it should be avoided when ramming with other strands. At the same time, it has a weak engine, so the specific power is rather low: 13 hp/t. The maximum speed of 35/15 km/h is also not something outstanding.
In this section, the only fly in the ointment is the turning speed of the chassis; the tank spins well in place. The viewing radius is minimal - 380 meters, and the communication range is completely close to the worst values among the “nines”.
