I am pleased with my 2011 Sport LE compared to my old 05 TD4. Mine has privacy glass, running boards and rear spoiler. No tow bar or roof rack which I personally dislike anyway. I just wish it has driver and passenger arm rests as it is auto too. My only gripe. Armrests must be available on top of the range HSE only but I thought I saw them on GS versions too?
stevey w I’ve got an SD4 HSE Lux 2013 had it since 2014 & absolutely love it. I think it does about 38ish on a good run but our good run is normally down to Cornwall with a caravan on the back of ehich is a twin axle Swift Elegance 630 & we get about 25/26 towing although this is a big van with four of us in the car with a top box too. I wouldn’t hesitate getting one of these my uncle has one too a 2014 Metrolpolis same as the HSE Lux same spec just the last ones they did. If you can go for the HSE Lux or Metropolis if budget allows as it has everything. Sound system is amazing can’t use it full blast, reversing camera with hitch assist is brilliant & the heated steering wheel which I thought I would never use is just luxury. One of the most comfortable cars you will ever drive with the Windsor leather & seating position. Don’t know if you are towing but I have a passat also & my ex colleague had the same car estate version passat GT towing a single axle Bailey Unicorn very light caravan & he got again about 26 to the gallon with a lighter car, caravan so fair play to the LR. Brilliant car not heavy on tyres either, love mine better than a Disco Sport to look at IMO also noseweight for towing is the highest a car can get 150kg Disco Sport 100kg. Any questions let me know. Tee Pee hi m8. I took the plunge and got a 14 plate dynamic sd4. I absolutely love it. Smooth as anything and realy high up. I know what you mean about the new disco sport. I think the freelanders look better. They are more square. On the new landrovers the roof seems to taper down at the back. Unlike the freelander and older discoverys which keep the landrover square looks. I also love the 2 separate armrests which are not on the disco sport. This gives the freelander a retro feel. When i last checked i was getting 36mpg which im pleased with. The metropolis are still going for over £20k. How much were the hse & dynamics brand new? I looked at some hse & se techs but they were a bit battered, which i found strange because were only 4 year old. You think people would look after a car like this. I could of got a 16 plate evogue for what i payed but was low spec and didnt look as good.
stevey w Dynamic looks great with the kit so good choice. Not seen what the prices were for HSE & Dynamic but the HSE Lux was £42k new I paid £31k when it was a year old & got a fixed height towbar out of them too which should have been £800. Yes the armrests are great & wise decision over the Evoque as they can’t carry a full sized spare which mine came with. I’ve fitted loads of genuine accessories on mine you need to be careful what you buy on those only buy genuine mud flaps, also stainless bumper tread only buy genuine my uncle bought aftermarket & they obscure the tailgate when shutting. Now & again when Imfill up I put some redex diesel to clear everything makes it even smoother. What colour did you go for ? Although every colour made is nice.
stevey w also everyso often your door mirrors slow down it because they need lubing so open you door so you don’t accidentally fold the mirrors in, pull the mirror forward it will click but it’s ok, use some silicone spray or GT85 between the black underside where it pivots spray, clean the residue when it drips down but exercise the mirror back & forth to clear the dirt & click the mirror back in place this way it doesn’t wear your motors, you will hear the difference. If you do your own brakes make sure you download the instructions to take it in & out of service mode with the handbrake being electronic. The most reliable Land Rover ever built I love mine although I did love my Freelander 1 TD4 HSE too it was brilliant in the snow. I’m no expert but any questions ping them over to see if I can help. @@teepee4296 hi mate. I went for the white one. Blacked out back windows and same wheels as in this vid but all grey. Did you mean pull the wing mirrors in the opposite way that they fold? I didnt realise how much these cost when they were brand new. But you can understand why they cost so much. I wont be doing any works on the car myself. Brakes etc. I will just take it to my local landrover garage. It has full landrover service history so i will keep this up.when cleaning it at the weekend i notion a few bubbles of corrosion on one of the wheels. I am toying with the idea of putting the spare wheel in its place. I dont know how to send my email address without writing it on here. Can you email me? Your advice is much appreciated.
