How is the sound on this? I live in a townhouse and someone on one side of us. I was planning on setting it up on the opposite side of our small yard. You think this could pose a problem?
Set mine up today. Water circulation seems very weak. Filled with 81 degree water and turned on the heater. Four and a half hours later it was only up to 90 degrees. Not a cold day. Is this normal for this unit?
What I have found is that the temperature changes about 2 degrees (F) per hour. The outdoor air temp doesn't seem to matter that much because the tub is insulated well (assuming you have the cover on).
Yes that's normal. You should have read that before buying. It takes forever to heat up. That's because it's only on a 120v heater. Big tubs heat quicker because they're usually on a 240v circuit. You'll probably want to turn it on the night before if you want to make sure it's to maximum temperature by the next evening/night you want to use it. Also in the winter it might not ever get to max temp. People recommend buying an additional insulator for colder months and the manual recommends against using it when it's below 39° outside. Also the air bubbles will cool it down fast if it's really cold outside so try not to use the bubbles constantly if you want to be in and hot for more than 30 minutes. Unfortunately these are all drawbacks that you should have read in the reviews before you bought it. I know they're dealbreakers for some people and I hope you still enjoy it. These are some of the things we have to deal with by saving money and not spending thousands of dollars on a full size real hot tub.
I would recommend doing some research on it. If you purchase some pool/spa test strips they usually have 3 categories they measure. I have been using chlorine granules for now.
Do you mean that if you turn on the bubbles the water stops circulating through the heater? I wouldn't think so. The bubbles are separate from the water circulation.
