Review of Quickjack BL-7000-SLX for small cars, lowered cars and small garages
So I finally got myself a tool I have been eyeballing for some time the Quickjack BL-7000-SLX.
It is a revelation on how quickly I can get my 2019 Mazda MX5 ND2 30th Anniversary in the air now.
Within 5 minutes I can have the car ready and up in the air in a safe way. I was worried that the 7000 SLX would be to big or would not fit under the car but it does so no worries there.
I found it to be cumbersome to lug around the jack in our small garage, the frames of the Quickjack I can store under the while not in use and therefore they do not take up any space either.

Thanks. Have a new 21 RF and have watched many of your videos over last few weeks. Was considering the 7000TL which is replacing the 7000SLX and was pleasantly surprised when your video came up in my searches. Like how you go into detail about everything , super helpful.

Thank you and thank you for the support, glad you like the content! If you can get hold of the TL I would go for that. It is not coming to Europe until summer or so in Europe. That extra height would be worth it I think. any version the QJ is golden makes things so much easier and fun if you need to wrench on the car

@@Themazcorner So no issues with the 7000TL on the ND hugh (Have a 23 Club)- was looking at a 5000- but wifey is wanting something big lol

@@senfing I think its the best to check the spread on the TLs. I think the 5000 should work. With the 7000 SLX I have no issues at all. But I believe the 7000 TLX does not work with the ND/ND2

This lift is great. In the meantime, one can probably only wait for the TL version, since the SLX is no longer available. Congratulations, another great explainer video.

thank you! I believe there are some differences in the spread between TL and SLX you better check that up so it still works with the Mazda

Are the lifting blocks positioned under the pinch weld flanges or just inboard of them? It's not a good idea to support the weight of the car on the flanges themselves. (The areas immediately inboard of the flanges (at the dimpled locations) are specifically reinforced to carry lifting loads.)
@Themazcorner
@Themazcorner 2 года назад
The blocks are positioned on the reinforced area where the dimples are or did I misunderstand your comment?
@deasystems

@@Themazcorner : As I said, the flanges themselves should not be subject to lifting loads.

So how do you suggest that the car should be lifted on lifts etc? Not possible to access the subframe with a lift. The points between the dimples are where you put jackstands if need be on the pinch weld. What is the difference between having jackstands there instead of the lifting blocks that raises the car evenly.
@deasystems

@@Themazcorner : Look under your car immediately inboard of the dimpled area of the pinch-weld. The reinforcement there is obvious. In fact, when you use Mazda's own scissor jack, it applies lifting force *only* to the reinforced area-there is no pressure put on the pitch-weld flange, in fact, no contact with it at all!. Just place your blocks inboard so they don't contact the pinch-weld flange but *do* contact the reinforced areas. In other words, just move the blocks closer to the car's centre line. Again, go look carefully for yourself.

The photo itself I took of my old GT. There are different services online which you can use to upload high res photos and get a photo wallpaper printed. I have had it up for over a year and it's been holding up really well. Do you live in Europe?
