The Soviet heavy tank ST-1 has very good tactical and technical characteristics, especially strong armor and a powerful gun. This is exactly the tank that can fight with 10 levels on equal terms. The Soviet heavy can be called one of the best TTs at the level, since it has great privileges compared to similar-level vehicles.
In terms of armor, the ST-1 occupies the first position on the level, since the tank has a very strong hull and an even stronger turret.
The ST-1 has strong armor almost everywhere, but it is worth highlighting the frontal projection of the turret and hull. Without taking into account the reduction, the armor thickness of the upper armor plate is 120 mm. But due to optimal angles, the thickness increases significantly. But the most important thing is that flying projectiles will almost always ricochet. If the tank is located directly towards the opponent, then it is impossible to penetrate the cheeks, since they will also always ricochet. But when tanking from the sides or in a diamond shape, these same cheeks will already be at a right angle, and accordingly the chances of penetration increase. The lower armor plate is usually the thinnest, but with the slightest adjustment, it will often ricochet enemy shells. The thickness of the armor on the sides is 140 mm. And these are the most armored sides at level 9. The Soviet heavy will be simply flawless on city maps, since the sides, taking into account the given armor, will be impossible to penetrate with anything, except, of course, high-explosive fragmentation shells.
The ST-1 tower is his impenetrable fortress. In the frontal projection, the thickness of the armor is 250 mm, and these are standard indicators, without taking into account the given reservation. The shape of the turret creates optimal angles for ricochet, but the resulting armor reaches 400 mm. This means that it is impossible to break through the council tower. Even on the sides of the turret there are more than 185 mm, and closer to the gun, the thickness reaches 260 mm, which again indicates non-penetration.
The tank is more than armored for its level and can play with both the hull and the turret, making it versatile.
Advantages and disadvantages of CT-I

We have in our hands a very strong machine, endowed with unprecedentedly strong armor and powerful weapons. This unit can without a doubt be called a real breakthrough tank, but due to limited mobility, you need to carefully choose the direction of attack.
Of course, on ST-I, combat tactics consist of positioning on the first line. You must learn to play from the tower as best as possible. Thanks to its strength and comfortable vertical aiming angles, you can use various ruins, embankments and terrain so that almost no one can penetrate you.
But it is important to understand that it is better not to show the hull of the ST-1 World of Tanks at all, to occupy positions where artillery cannot shoot at you unhindered and you must always dance. By moving slightly back and forth and slightly turning the turret from side to side, you make it more difficult to target the vulnerable commander's hatch.
