There’s something oddly satisfying about watching a record get thoroughly cleaned. Thanks for this video!

Good video I use Tergikleen to clean my records and here how I do it first I pre clean them then I use a digital Ultrasonic cleaner with the Tergikleen and I clean it for 15 minutes then I use the spin clean washer to rinse and the humminguru ultrasonic cleaner to rinse and dry with vacuum and my result it does a great job cleaning my records and sound great Tergikleen is a great product.

Ethylene Oxcide is only in Tergitol s 20. Tergikleen does not use S20. If you search Tergikleen safety data sheet all chemicals are listed.

Thanks for the video, excellent quality! Nice sound! I am assuming you use the 1176 limiter with the AT4050? I did my first cleaning with Tergikleen yesterday and it turned out very nice. I rinsed the records first, vacuumed, then Tergikleen with a paint pad on a lazy susan, spin cleaner with water/alcohol, then vacuumed, rinsed, vacuumed and done. Sounds great, I am waiting for an ultrasonic -should get it next week.

Yes! That's the mic pre and limiter I use in the studio. Sounds nice I think. Thanks for watching!

Thank your for your honest review. I agree with your assessment. I tried the Tergikleen on my Keith Monk Prodigy with two rinses afterwards and think it is doing a great job. I tried it in my Degritter Mark 2 but this was something I would not do it again. I used the two tank method where the Degritter tells you when to change the tank. But since the Tergikleen is so strong the second bath is not enough and immediately turns into another Tergikleen bath. You then need to run another cycle to get rid of the Tergikleen and still the feeling is that your Degritter has now been infected with Tergikleen. So this is not recommended.

Good advice, thanks

I would buy a Spin Clean and thoroughly rinse it in that, then go back to the Degritter with the rinsed LP and do a final rinse in the DG.

@@67Pepper Yes, but instead of the Spin Clean I would prefer my Keith Monk prodigy.

Tergikleen is my go-to cleaner now. Years ago I used 2 or 3 step systems using the excellent Audio Intelligent products but with the amount of records I buy I was spending more time cleaning records than listening to them. I buy a lot of used 50s/60s jazz records that often have heavy tobacco smoke contamination and need serious cleaning. So my first step is to apply some Tergikleen to a cotton ball and while rotating the record on a lazy susan work from the dead wax out to the edge of the record, which I find is usually the dirtiest part of the record - I want to avoid smearing all that filth across the record surface. If the cotton ball is brown and filthy I use a fresh cotton ball and repeat until I see no more filth coming off. I should add that I have had records that looked clean and shiny that produced absolutely filthy brown cotton balls. Next, I apply a bead of Tergikleen to the record and spread it around until I get complete coverage and then scrub lightly to agitate the solution and work it into the grooves and loosen up any debris deep in the grooves (I know the bristles of my brush are too thick to penetrate the grooves, but my theory is the agitation of the solution from above should force it into the grooves and also loosen the debris. Then my rinse method is to hold the record over my kitchen sink (while wearing latex gloves to keep my finger oils off the record and the Tergikleen off my skin). I use an old cleaning solution bottle filled with distilled water and squeeze hard, directing the stream in a U-shaped pattern, covering the left side from the top down, then the right side from top down, then the bottom of the record. The I turn the record 180 degrees and repeat. As long as the bottle is at least half full I find I can squeeze out a pretty powerful stream that adequately blasts off the Tergikleen solution. Finally I use my vacuum machine to remove the distilled water rinse. For those concerned about getting the labels wet with this method, I rarely get more than a few drops of water on the labels , which is easily dried off by dabbing with a microfiber cloth and if necessary waiting about 30 seconds for evaporation to do the rest of the drying.

over priced, but each to their own... i remember as a kid in the 70s , did i worry about cleaning my records with fluid etc...nope...move on today...my records still play just as the did back then....stylus today seem more sensitive to picking up dirt and def dont last as long..if only i was mega rich to afford such cleaning machines...

We sell Tergikleen for $35. We have customers who clean records for their living, they sell their records on Discogs, Ebay, etc. They have told us twice now that they can clean 1500 albums with one bottle. Thats 2.3 CENTS per album. The bottle is 30ML, but I overfill them to just below 40ML all the way up. Thats less than 2 cents per album.
