I just bought this same mower and I see a lot of bad comments on it. For me it did what I expected, to each is own. Its just like a car. If people have a bad experience with a certain car they will label it as garbage, but the next person can get that same type of car and it will be the best car they ever bought. Its all on how you treat it. If you are mowing rocks and sticks and stuff like that I can see why yall mower quite on you. As for me I have no fear in my mower dying on me. I have a four year warranty so I will just keep getting new ones
I have now had this mower for almost a year and it is still running fine.I spoil all my yard equipment by using super unleaded because it makes them start faster and this mower takes 2 pulls on a cold start and 1 thereafter I have gotten used to the speed and the bag holds a lot of grass before it needs dumping
I have this mower too…it’s got pretty good specs…engine sounds good..have had it maybe close to a year? Idk…but your experience with this will be determined by your yard. A regularly maintained lawn…this mower will probably last forever… but if u have a gnarly plot of land with pits, rocks, tall grass n weeds…then this mower definitely bogs down…and cut deck will crack to hell. But I will say it’s power can hang better then my battery powered makita mower. Because the cut deck has plastic underneath…the chance of running over a stump, random chunks etc on those ugly lawns and cracking is high…or just trying to maneuver through awkward angles…the frame flex though may not break the deck…it can cause other issues. The height adjuster on mine broke. That angle flex can create a leveraged warp on the axles to easily. The self propelled feature on mine also broke today because the deck cracked on something hidden and shattered it exposing the guts. This is where you really can appreciate a commercial line mower. I’m still debating if I want to try and replace parts with yardmax warranty…get a new YARDMAX?…or go with a different brand all together. So…take the vague good and bad reviews with a grain of salt. When selecting a mower…consider your lawn type first…and if some of these worst case scenarios will apply to you. Not every mower is for every lawn. 👍
Got mine today.. Reading all of the neg reviews about this mower had me worried.. But after taking it out the box and adding oil and fuel, she ran and cut like a dream!! 1 cut down, hopefully it continue to run and cut good! My old mower which still works great is a 140cc and i can tell the difference!
Just ordered mine on lowes it was about the same price as Amazon just had military discount. Look forward to self propelled and no more push myself. Thank you for the review!
I bought mine from Home Depot in April 2023 (It's July now). I used it for about 5 hours spanning over 3 or 4 yard mowings. The self-propelling no longer works. Ugh. I noticed the Home Depot has discontinued this model.
I have had mines about 4 months it takes off fast I got my pulley to slow it down but decided to leave it alone since I got used to the speed It is an awesome mower with lots of power
My update. I bought mine from Tractorsupply in June. It originally drove very fast. After a a few weeks it started to slow down and i was able to push the lever about halfway. Two days ago (August 13th 2023) it stopped and wouldn't drive. It felt like the drive cable broke. I took it apart today (August 15th) and what a pain. I had to use a gear puller to get the blade hub off! When i took the guards off there was so much grass clippings it was insane. There was about a 2 gallon bucket or more. Yep the drive cable was broke, and one of the plastic belt pulleys was worn out, and yes the pulleys are plastic. All the parts important parts are plastic and cheap rusted steal. I was able to temporarily fix it using 3 zip ties. Hopefully it holds until i order and receive new parts. The outside of this machine looks rough and tough but the parts underneath are junk. Very disappointed with this machine
YG2760 Mine, not even 6 hrs, Transmission seazed, absolute junk and Yardmax is absolutely useless. 2 Yr Warrany LOL Good Luck (No such thing, unless you buy direct from Yardmax).
I recently bought the YardMax 2860 mower, and it is TERRIBLE. I returned the YardMax mower because the Front Wheel Drive is INSANE. The wheels go crazy the moment they touch the ground. Also, the engine claims it is powerful with 201cc, but that is simply not the case. Also, the engine was brand new and took two pulls to start the first time. But after a half hour of using the mower, it took EIGHT PULLS to start the mower. The mower was "Locked" at times with the pulls. And the "speed" of the mower was slow, even on its highest setting it wasn't as fast as the Cub Cadet mower. Also, the YardMax mower could NOT be pulled backwards. The black rubber thing at the bottom in back got tangled up in the mower and you were dragging the entire mower without help from the wheels.
All I see is comments that r just user error..this mower is great and powerful. Also u have to take care of ur stuff. If ur mower looks beat the hell up after a few months ur def not takin care of ur stuff or operating it correctly. Self propelled when u turn let off of it. When engaging self propelled u dont have to pull it back all the way so it doesnt jump when takin off.
Isn't the cord supposed to go through eyelet on bars so you can hold the safety shut off down while pull starting it? Not sure how you hold safety bar while pulling it from at the motor.
I wrote the manufacturer and told them this this is about to jerk my arm out of socket on takeoff. and just goes too damn fast. They sent me a new pulley gear , free of charge, to slow the thing down along with a video of how to switch it out. Only problem is, you would have to be a certified mechanic to do the change out. Much too complicated. If this thing doesn`t eventually slow down on its own, I am screwed. 🥶
Lemme tell ya something. STAY AWAY FROM ANYTHING CALLED YARDMAX! I bought one around 5-15-23 and used it only about 5-6 times. It is made with extremely cheap components. The plastic knobs for closing and locking the handle broke off. The height adjustment broke off. The front wheel broke as I was using it and the axle came out off place. The plastic for the undercarriage cracked in two requiring its complete removal. That cover the belt and pulleys for the self propel assembly. Needles to say, that can no longer by used. Surprising no engine issues (yet) and it will cut serious grass-provided you have patching up skills. THIS POS IS CHEAP FOR A REASON AND YOU WILL GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR!
