Welcome everyone, here's my quick review of my Canon 10x30 binoculars. These are great binoculars for everyday use, really for any application where you don't want jitters in your viewing experience. When you're viewing wildlife or sightseeing, you want to reduce the natural movements/jitter of your hands being magnified 10x, so these solve that issue completely! These binoculars are small enough to wear all day, and travel really well.

I'm thinking of getting this for opera/theater viewing. Do you think this will work out? Look silly? I know there are opera glasses out there but considering this for outdoor as well.

These are small enough that while they're much larger than typical opera glasses, they're not superbly larger than typical binocs someone would use when bird watching. They're a solid handful though.

Hi, are the canon IS 11 models as good then the first models? And are they good for stargazing?

I haven't personally tested the Mark II model (currently working on a 12x36 iii video), but I don't see why they wouldn't work well enough for stargazing.

I have the 10x30 i/s also, and they work very well, however mine are around 10/11 years old now and the rubber has gone tacky, making them unusable, its a shame they were brilliant, would I buy another canon i/s at todays prices, not a chance, I paid £220 uk pounds in 2009/10 so I'm not to miffed about the loss, but paying £500 plus now knowing what's going to happen down the line, we'll..... no thank you. I may take a look at the fujinon's but I'm finding it difficult to get information on them as would they suffer the same problems further down the road ???

Yep, I have a lamp on my night stand doing the same. My 15x50s are ~7 years old and no signs of the rubber destabilizing, as yet. I agree, they've gotten significantly more expensive these days. Rarely Canon has refurbished sales, but certainly not often....

@@MikeLikesChannel Yep, it seems endemic to the 10x30, at least the first gen. I see plenty of these on ebay with a specific note about rubber degradation, they still sell though... so maybe somehow they are being repaired? mitigated?

Has anyone had these on a cruise Also wondering how important is weather proofing. I see that some Canon binoculars are and a some aren’t. Doing an Alaskan cruise this year and looking for a good value for money pair of stabilized binoculars.

Only you can answer that, if you want WP you need to step up to the 10x42L. Significantly more expensive and heavier though

Hi, does the canon gonne be tacky after a while ?? If so, it's a shame with such a brand and price! And. Why canon does do nothing about it?? Thanks for the tip!

Hi there, mine remains fine - my 10x30s are relatively new but the 15x50s are much older (7 years) and they're just fine. Hope this helps!
