Omega world timer is beautiful. The laser cute world map, the world time function, the ease with which the strap can be changed and the price point. Hard to beat! I like it a lot, but out of principle I would NEVER buy a new AD watch that drops minimum 30% in value the moment I leave the store, so I leave that part to guys with more money then brain. 2-3 months later, when they are bored with it and move onto a new toy, I’m ready to scoop up the watch, with a 30% price saving. That way you always feel you got good value for money too!

About buying moon watch think its rabbit hole :) There are different mechanism with different precision, and truth is: nobody need moon change watch (except werewolf), and even if you buy mechanism with perfect precision you will forget to wind it :) btw: for my need gshock sqare with 5 gmt times, and bt for setting, is good enough ;)

Great review. HOWEVER, saying it is the best looking world time when you know full well that that title goes without question to Patek Philippe is a cardinal sin!!
I think this is a great watch. No offense to the Rolex fan boys, but Rolex doesn't build anything as interesting as this watch. The movement is superior to Rolex without question, and the design is beautiful.
@@watchat888 They have the ability to if they wanted to, but if you can sell a million watches a year by doing the same thing over and over again with tiny changes like different dial colors, or swapping a bezel they have no motivation to be innovative.
I quite like the watch on both the strap and the bracelet. Is it possible to buy it on the bracelet and then buy the strap separetly and switch when I feel like it or are the strap and bracelet not interchangeable?

The Bad is very very tolerable. It's perfect! I'm a VC fanboy and I've never liked an Omega until now. 'Hate to say it but this is the best looking world time sports watch.
I really like the design, especially the relief of the map, the operation of the world timer, and the attention to geographic detail but the date complication is a little disappointing. It's also about 2-3 mm too large for my tastes but it's a remarkable piece.
I owned this watch for 9 months on blue rubber. I hated owning this watch. The blue rubber strap is the best part of the watch; it is very comfy. While this watch looks pretty in the macro shots, it has 2 major design flaws, which make the ownership experience not that enjoyable. The first design flaw is the size of the inner world time ring. It is almost impossible to read it, especially under low-light conditions. What makes it even worse is the color choices for the World Time font. If you need reading glasses, I would not buy this watch. Why did they not make it bigger? There is plenty of space inside the watch. The second major design flaw has to do with the crown. It is a MAJOR pain to wind this crown. Additionally, it is undersized for the thickness of the watch. It ends up looking like a pimple. It looks like they took the regular aqua terra crown and stuck it in here. Seriously, before you buy, wind the watch and see for yourself. The pretty map only stays pretty until these ugly design choices rear their head. I ended up selling it; Oh! if you buy it new prepare to lose 25% of its value as you walk out of the dealership. This is a big and thick watch, so you need a 7.5 inch wrist. If you are considering this watch, I would buy it used, but also consider buying the JLC Geophysic Universal Time. I think Omega just copied their design. The JLC one looks beautiful and smaller and slimmer than the Omega. I would buy that one instead.

Ya, I feel the limited edition on has a less 3D effect on the globe whereas the steel version has a more define look. Still....the fact that its limited to only 87 pieces...🤩
@@watchat888 Where the steel watch has a laser etched globe, the LE is 'fired' ceramic. A much more costly process....but not nearly as impactful as the Steel watch. In a way, that's what I like about it. A much more understated and mature watch. Could pass as a dress watch. And considering its price, I guess they're shooting for a more sophisticated buyer.
@@watchat888 .....It was only chance that I discovered the WT in Platinum, I was at the OB to see if Omega had a platinum deployant clasp for my Speedmaster 321 Platinum when the salesman pulled this beauty from the safe. Its fitted with the exact 18mm clasp I was looking for. Sadly, the claps alone is $8000USD!!!! Crazy. But to answer your question...probably not. Even limited to 87 pieces, I'm guessing in about a year, they'll be trading at half-price.
I see your point with regards to an applied logo at 12 o’clock, however with the date window at 6 o’clock this would most likely unbalance the symmetry of the watch?
Bought this watch in 2022. Even though I researched a lot and knew all the specs and every detail, there are two things that bothers me quite a lot that I kinda regret not saving money for PP world time for the future. 1. It's not really a world time watch. It's a GMT watch with a tweak. So it's pseudo-world time watch. The true world time watch should allow the city ring moves not just fixed position and printed city names. 2. 43mm is just way too bulky. More than diver watch (SMP 300M). I would prefer in 41mm or sub 40mm Aqua Terra case.
Cheers buddy. You should really consider until it becomes hard to get. The fact that more RU-vidrs are now talking about this watch and singing it's praise is a pretty good indication where this watch is heading.
I also noticed the date change started quite early at 10.30pm and snapped over close to midnight. This behaviour is the same on my Longines master worldtime as well which I forgive given it’s relatively low price at around $2K. However, Breitling got it right with their worldtime complication. The date only snapped over to the next day near midnight. Unfortunately Breitling have discontinued their worldtime watches. You can look for one in the secondary market, they are much cheaper than Omega.
It is definitely underrated. These days some watches are just overpriced with not much going on. You explained it so well, even better than the Omega staff in Tokyo! I was thinking between the SS and the gold one, but the latter is like 3 times more the price, but definitely looks way better. But overall, I think this is one of the best Omega watches. @@watchat888 i honestly don’t really like the ceramic bezel being the same color as the dial. I feel the original blue variant captures more of what the actual earth 🌍 looks like. The black and green variants feel like too much is going on.

Great video! Tried this on in a boutique but its too big and flashy for me. It feels like I should be wearing a shirt to compliment this watch. Looked at Breitling Aviator Unitime and couldn't justify the price so I kept looking until I found Ball Engineer Master 2 Diver Worldtime - Underdog brand, incredible value with all the boxes ticked and more. Some would say it's an abomination because it combines Diver with World Time but by god, do I love it! It has the visual feel of a Navitimer but more practical by comparison.
@@watchat888 It's a little top heavy but I have done G-Shocks and Seiko MM300 so this is very manageable, especially after you got it on a good rubber strap.
I ordered one from the boutique and when I tried it on, I honestly didn't like the feel or the size of it. It was bulky, shiny, and the case kinda felt, hmmm, old school a bit. It didn't feel modern. Got a skydweller instead.
I'm sure there is no regrets there too PhillieG. Congrats on your acquisition. Do you find the Skydweller to be lighter or heavier compared to the Worldtimer?
@@watchat888 hmmm, I honestly I don't recall, however the world timer just seemed a lot beefier - not necessarily heavier. Also seemed a little larger and a lot more shinier - maybe it was just the lights in the boutique lol. Details of the watch are beautiful though! Another thing is, they were unwilling to give a discount. I found that odd, because at that time, I could go on Chrono24/online and get it for a couple hundred less than full retail and in some online stores, pay no tax. Soooo.... I wasn't willing to pay more either if the AD wasn't willing to negotiate, at least to cover the sales tax

Beautiful watch! I've never understood how these world timers work, so this might seem a silly question. The 24 hour ring - does it rotate automatically? By that I mean, can I look at the 24 hour ring and immediately see the time in London, or do I first have to manually manipulate the ring to my local time and then read off the time in London?
The 24 hour ring rotates automatically and you can read the time by looking at what hour is London pointing to 😁. It's a pretty cool complication especially if you've got friends and relatives in several part of the world and need to keep track of their time.
I saw this same watch today (Jan 2022) for $10,800 CAD on a stainless steel bracelet. The blue dial comes through under bright lights. The case is rather thick because of the co-axial movement.
Yes it is rather thick but it is still pretty alright for my books. Can't help it...they had me at the globe. So...you pulling the trigger for the new year? 😉
The watch may not be perfect; it's the only watch I'll ever need. I have a daughter living in Germany and friends around the world. It certainly is nice to know what time it is, regardless of their location at a glance. For me, luxury should be practical, considerate and have a balance of both inclusiveness and exclusivity. This watch accomplishes this perfectly despite it's limitations.
@@watchat888 this watch is my grail watch. It will be my daily. To your statement, yes it is more practical for most than a GMT which is a pilot watch first. A model like a Rolex explorer II can also be used for GMT functions but it's for mountaineers, miners and spelunkers first. So, the world timer is perfect for my purposes and the purposes of most people that have friends around the world; traveler or not.

I got mine in April with the steel bracelet, although I would you could buy the rubber strap. I am thinking of getting the blue alligator leather though, so swap between that and the steel. I agree though, the dial is what made me purchase it, and it was an impulse buy as I nearly got the latest speedmaster.
