Parkhurst has the best customer service I have ever experienced, Andrew makes sure that you are 100% satisfied with your pair of boots! I highly recommend these boots.
@@georgecarlin2879 They are holding up great. My one complaint was the insoles were a little hard. I recently inquired about some other Parkhurst boots and found out this has been fixed. I will ask about an upgrade when I need to resole.
Just ordered a pair in the chocolate kudu. Can't wait! I've built a collection of Allen Edmonds footwear via thrift stores and Poshmark. This is my first time paying retail for a gyw shoe/boot, because I've been sold on Andrew's story, and the reviews. Thanks Nick!
@@georgecarlin2879 Just received the chocolate kudu Delewares. Super comfortable right out of the box, and stunning with the color and finish on the welt, mid-sole, and heel block! Took them outside in the rain, and the water beaded up and rolled off. That's right out of the box, without any additional waxing or conditioning yet. Couldn't be more pleased. Andrew hit it out of the park! I'm an 11D in Allen Edmonds, and got these in an 11. They fit perfect, with just enough room for thicker socks if desired, or for my feet to swell later in the day.
Hey, brother. So, I'm a USArmy vet who has worn the standard issue combat boots, jump boots, etc. I own about half a dozen Redwing Heritage boot pairs (Beckman, Original Moc Toes and others) and looking to expand to a new brand. Talk to me about Parkhurst vs. Thursday? I like the look of Thursday's designs, which is why I'm asking. Thanks in advance.
They're both great. Thursday is better value and better arch support, Parkhurst has a lower heel and roomier toe box. You can email me for more advice if you like but it's about your priorities haha
I wear a 8D is almost every thing boot related. I ordered some boots from PH. This last is crazy. I was huge on my feet. Take note of this. I will try a smaller size later when he has something i want again.
Love your reviews! Keep em coming. Who cares how you say the name, what brings us together is the love for boots. Are you planning to do a review on Nicks Boots? They look really nice.
I enjoy your video and the info you put out. I have my first boots on the way now. I went with the AE Higgins Mill. My next may be the Thursday Boot Co Captins in a year or so. Wish I would have found your channel a long time ago.
The Good Rob is reference to a class I went to with Kris Paronto last year. There was another Rob there so he was Bad Rob and I was Good Rob. If you don't know who Kris Paronto is, just look him up on the web. He is a really cool guy. Keep up the great work and thanks for the reply.
@@robertsmithUH60driver ...I think you will enjoy your AE Higgins Mill boots. I have them in black and brown. I find them to be extremely comfortable and versatile as you can dress them up or dress them down. Nice choice!
@@edf2953 Thanks. Would like to vet some in black one day. Looking for another brownish pair also. Just not sure which one to got. Lots of great choices. Want to keep at $500 or below.
I'd consider these but, as you demonstrated, they look just like my natural Thursday Captains (with broguing). I'll wait to see if they offer these in different colors.
Stridewise - Wider (more masculine) toe box, smaller heel height, real Dainite, and original manufacturer recraft availability? Time to put my Thursday's Captains on eBay.
Very tough question, especially because my Vanguards were a bit tight so I have trouble judging them alongside a boot that has the proper size, haha. They're honestly about even, but Thursdays are cheaper so I'd probably go with them. I could flip a coin though haha
Hi Nick! This pair seems to be less prone to the loose grain creasing I’ve seen with some of the Wolverine 1000 Mile and other less expensive cxl boots. Not sure how far you’ve worn these, but the creasing seems pretty minimal so far. Looks promising. May have to order a pair. :) Great review, as always!
Enjoying your reviews! Wondering if you will be reviewing the WM Moorby boots? www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07662T72T?ref=em_1p_4_im&ref_=pe_8564850_405605920&th=1&psc=1
Hi! Would you recommend Parkhurst (Allen or Delaware) or the Rugged and Resilient Captains? Looking for one office/jeans boots and it's my first pair. I think the Parkhurst might have a more durable build but the silhouette of the captains look amazing. Would love to hear your thoughts!
Love the new intro music! We pretty much agree on this boot. I am having a little bit of a break in period but it is nothing like my Iron Rangers or anything. There is a steel shank too for those who were wondering!
Quality control should be kept to a minimum, Just because it cost under $300 is not excuse to be slacking. Bad Quality Control is like "Never getting a second chance to make a first impression". The least anyone wants to do is have to send the item they paid for and waited patiently for and supported the company, back to the company because it came with issues. especially stitching at the toe box and welt area. This is a very nice boot. Thanks for sharing.
Does any of you know if the Kudu leather will be as easy to no break-in as these Delaware Chromexel leather boots? I have two pairs of chromexel boots and I don't like how they creased.
With the brogueing getting stitched over, it looks like their needle just slipped into the hole, even though they were going straight. I think all they'd have to do is do the brogueing design 1mm further down the toe cap and the stitching issue is solved
What is the heel height? I like the look of these better than the Thursday Boot Co. i think this boot by Delaware does for me what Thursday does for some. Thursday boots heel height just way too girly and uncomfortable. Great video as usual for you.
Ive never heard of this brand and so far im really impressed. More so than I have been with even established brands offerings. They pull off the balancing act of features, style and cost very well. For example; usually with a boot at this price range theyd sacrifice real dainite for knockoff or skip the glove lining or skip the extra insole, etc. What blows me away is they hit all the desired marks and are still made in USA!? BTW I really appreciate the effort into the modified last with extra toe room. I have a normal width foot but short stubby toes which puts me at a weird point between pinched toes with normal width or sloppy fit at a wide. Anyway I appreciate the video and I want to patron this brand even though I dont have prescient need for this kindve boot right now JUST to support this company for doing all the right things! That doesnt happen very often with me.
Great comment! Yeah it's super unusual to see dainite and chromexcel and made in America for this price point. Plus it's a storm welt! Really solid feeling. Their profit margins are not huge so they need all the sales they can get! (Just use my code hehe)
@@Stridewise Dam you´re quick to respond to you´re community, thumps up for that. Maybe one last question ( in case you havent awensered it already elsewhere ) Are you a D or E in width ?
Hey Nick, have you had any problems with wearing through the liner of any boots in the heel area? I have worn through a couple of boots and, while it doesn't seem to cause any irritation, it does worry me that I will need to get that patched or dealt with in the future. As always, a great review and I can't wait for the next one!
Although there is a Kudu antelope, unless the owner specifically said they are using Kudu antelope leather, this is more likely the Horween Kudu leather. Still cowhide chromexcel but with more pronounced grain and duller appearance. Allen Edmonds I believe was using the same leather in the Normandy boot they had/might still have.
Great review. I have two pairs of Parkhurst Allen Kudu Boots. One in Dark Chocolate and the other is the Ridge model. They are both Beautifully crafted boots. A perfect weight and a painless break in period. As mentioned the boot is slightly wider than some of the other brands and I found this to be very comfortable. This extra space allowed me to wear a thicker sock on the colder days without cramping my toes. I’m a city walker, I took these boots right out of the box and took a long walk. Not a single blister 👍 I also own Red Wings and Aldens. I have been looking at many of the other brands as well. IMHO.. I think the Parkhurst Brand is a tremendous value compared to some of the other brands They are super comfortable right out of the box, they are very stylish and are MADE IN THE USA.. and as a native NY’er an added bonus to support a small vendor from my state. Andrew .. the founder is quick to reply to any emails. I am waiting for some new Parkhurst product releases .. will definitely buy this brand again. .
Excellent comment, thanks for contributing, Daniel. They're good boots, I feel a little guilty for pointing out the broguing because I know they'd have replaced them if I asked but I was lazy haha. Don't forget the discount if you get another pair!
Hey, thanks a lot for all the valuable reviews, great channel! What boot/model would you recommend for someone with a slender/skinny foot in general BUT wide at the forefoot (splayfoot)?? Really difficult to find a last that fits such a shape. Thanks for your help!
Stridewise Hey Nick, thanks for your reply. Do combination lasts still come with a real choice for different widths in the forefoot / heel area? Thought the notation was kept for tradition, but the ratio is fixed (i.e. if you go up with the forefoot width, heel width also increases)?! Are you familiar with the Officine Creative “Princeton” or Alden “Modified” lasts? They usually fit well for me because of their exaggerated “banana shape”... Maybe you could recommend models/brands built on a similar last? Thanks a lot for your help, Benjamin
@@Stridewise Thanks for the quick response! Is that a style preference entirely or do you feel there is a functional aspect to it as well? I am loving the content you are putting out!
@@jmarth523 thanks man! just a style preference. wedge soles are great I just feel like they're very casual and so are moc toes and I don't like them mixing with plain toes haha but that's just me
@@Stridewise No they just look warn in, they look better. You have so many pairs of boots and you really aren't afraid to were them. I'm jealous I feel the need to baby all mine.
Yeah it's tricky because sometimes I get dressier boots (like Taft Jack boot) and I try to wear them in hard and then they get ugly. Generally though I feel the same way about boots as denim, like I usually feel like the point is to not have to baby them.
@@Stridewise yes I have the satchel and page I love it but that one has the fur on it, I Like this one as well thank you for responding I like your videos and style
