Intrigue. This sounds interesting. I need to catch up on the movies as well. I love most of the movies I’ve seen, but I’m behind. Haven’t seen the original since I was way young.
Dude, you seem like a nice guy but I think you're reviewing this book from a casual fan's perspective. The Boom Studios Apes graphic novels are very well thought of. They're really also mainly aimed at those passionate fans who are actively searching and consuming everything ape-related they can find. These trainspotter Apes fans (such as myself) will pick up on most/all the subtle references in these books and don't feel that need for the author to over-explain everything for the reader, as most of them are already filling in the gaps and jumps in the story and plot lines themselves. Like I said, not dissing you, but I don't think you're the target audience for this book and a more die-hard fan would give a different review, even though we can be VERY picky and discerning about Apes-related stuff. We expect and demand that dues are paid by the authors, and love it when the Apes canon is developed and expanded further, but its key tenets are still handled with respect. And generally, Boom do that very well.
