Pay attention to your grip more. Its funking up your edge alignment, which is making your cuts ineffective. That may help. That sword is plenty sharp to get thru soft targets. Also, swing by turning your body more
Back in 16 I owned a Ronin full-length katana with bo-hi (not sure which model, got it on the scratch and dent sale and wanted a sword that wouldn't mind having the shit beaten out of it and doing weird customization experiments with) and a Hanwei Kouga Ninjato. Thank you for this review, I think I will pick this up at some point. Don't apologize for talking for so long, I would rather hear a lot of information than not enough when it comes to dropping $300.

I been looking at the ko katanas and I really like the size of them . im 5'9 and when I use the standard 28 inch katanas , they a little long when im sheathing my katana but the ko katana is a little shorter on the blade and I bet they would be perfect for me . Im sure they are faster to maneuver than the standard katana . I want a custom through hardened 9260 spring steel ko katana . Im gonna work on getting one and that will be my next unvestment for sure . im not into the wakizashi because I like a 2 handed tsukamaki . I like that the ronin ko KATANA still keeps the thick spine . I have the dojo pro # 13 katana and I love it . I did sharpen and stropped it and now its a vicious blade and its got that thick spine and the fat diamond tip to add strength to the kissaki tip . ronin is my favorite production company and I also have the dojo pro tanto # 3 and I really love that tanto . I sharpened it and stropped it and thats my bed side weapon , and it was well put together and solid . I like your ko katana ! it looks pretty solid and I like the geometry of the blade . Im sure the balance is nice because my dojo pro # 13 is balanced just right for how thick and heavy the blade is .
Shit dude you got a pretty good deal on that katana . I just got mine 2 days ago . get you some clear laquer with gloss in it and spray down the ito and rayskin real good and it'll add more gloss to your rayskin and it will make the ito rock solid and it'll hold up forever . you can get clear gloss laquer in a spray can or you can get it in a can , but you would some kinda paint brush if you get it in a can . but if you laquer it with 2 coats then that ito will stay on forever and never get loose and that adds strength to the tsuka . I did mine and I cant even move the ito at all and it feels great in my hands

Your blade geometry isnt correctly angled when you enter your target if you practice your angles you will fly through even that gallon jug like its not there keep it up. Im just glad you didnt knick tye stump yet Ive only watched about half way so far. Hopefully I dont have to come back and edit this. Sorry ill watch more than a couple minutes before I comment. You were much more dialed in during your second cutting session. Good to review and make changes. I usually review my own sessions and make changes accordingly As to the sword, I have never felt much for Ronin swords. Too many issues come with Ronin imo.
hell ronin has been improving on their katanas . you aint going to find a production company that doesnt have any flaws . ronin puts together better quality swords than hanwei does . I'll continue to do buisness with ronin ! I do believe that they need to start using the rough textured ishimi saya because their high gloss saya gets scratched and dented so easily and if you gonna have a tough ass blade then they should have a tough ass saya to hold that blade . but dont give up on ronin katanas because they are improving every day
Bought one years ago. Remember it was extremely dull maybe apart from Kissaki. My memories in short, well built BUT heavy and dull. Wouldnt buy it again. Bought elite ver of a traditional katana 1090 and man...cant compare these two, not even close, way better, extremely sharp BUT Tsuka was very poor quality, not the materials, just the quality of the build, kushira came off the moment i started to use it :D
Nice video bro but out of the box testing, i gotta give to hanwei’s pro katanas, if we’re talking about out of the box sharpness. It seems like you’re just bashing on the bottles, were as with hanwei, you literally cut through them (leaving the other half of the bottle still)
Juardian K. NONO don’t get me wrong ronin makes great swords!! I was just saying when it comes to “out of the box sharpness” there are some other ones that’s really sharp! But anyways great video!! ♥️♥️
