You overlooked how useful this is for boat owners (both large and small), since water can be drawn directly from the lake or other body of water you're boat's on or near.. It's also very handy to have around if you're a lazy homeowner like me who doesn't want to go through the painful hassle of mobilization (and restoring) of their other huge pressure washer just to do a quick wash of a car, especially since 600 PSI is all the pressure you need for a car wash and not to much to do damage like you can do with 2,300+ PSI. It does, however, need it's own foam blaster due to its non-standard connections. It also helps to have other Ryobi platform batteries (as many homeowners do), to reduce the effective operating cost. My preference is for the 40V platform, since I have about a dozen of those, although the 18V platform works great with Ridgid power tools' 18V batteries with just a $15 adapter you can get on eBay.

Brother, your video is one of the best reviews on this power washer I have seen on RU-vid. Got right to the point and was very positive about what it’s used for. I own the 300 psi and the 600 psi and love these units. I see positive and negative reviews on these units. Honestly some people just have their expectations to damn high. Ryobi called this a power washer not a pressure washer. I live on a ranch so having portable pressured water to clean something 6 acres away from a water source is awesome.

Man I really appreciate that. I know what frustrates me when I watch other peoples videos so I work really hard to try and avoid those same mistakes. It’s actually a hell of a lot of work to do these RU-vid videos so I appreciate the feedback!

I just ordered one for washing car especially to Rinse with DISTILLED WATER. Also, plan to use in the bathroom to clean tub, tile, toilet ets. as well as basement. IN COME USE is a BIG DEAL. They have a Flexible Wand (it's a high pressure hose) so you don't have to move around the entire unit which should be awesome. (I loved the B&D Pivot Vac but when I moved on to their Flex Vac, that detachable flexible hose was a real game changer - I expect the same here.)

This video pushed me over the line for it. Plan on using at a maori marae (cultural centre) so mud, bird droppings, bathroom cleanings gonna be great. We run of gravity feed water tanks so no pressure this will help with all light cleaning duties as shown just pull out the bigger one for any heavy ingrained ones stains. Even thought to use on our steam cookers instead of ruining clothes and brushes cleaning off soot. Thanks for the every day examples in this vid

EXCELLENT video on this product. Probably the best video of it being used on various items. I think it will be good for simple vehicle washing with the washing tools we have...soft brush, rim brush, squeegee, soap, bug-b-gone, bucket etc. We don't place the nozzle of the high pressure washer 1 inch away from the client's paint job to remove bug guts. We will lose all our clients that way. We spray/soak, clean with sponge and soap, brush and rinse. Dirt bike and offroad clients love the fast and high pressure washes but want to keep the sponsor stickers on their vehicle longer. Understandable. Thanks a lot for this video.

Great review, love the product as I use it to clean my kid's motocross bikes during race weekends and at home. I bought a 6 ah battery for the 18 volt washer and it lasts all weekend. I just need the snow foam add on so I can wash my car somewhat effectively.

If I connect it to the garden hose, with the garden hose pressure plus the equipment pressure would be higher than just using water in a bucket?

Good video. How's the noise level on this washer?
@ruckusdesigns
@ruckusdesigns Год назад
Thank You. I don’t have decibel numbers but I guess the sound is all relative. It’s not quiet, everyone in the immediate area will definitely hear. However, It’s not nearly as loud as a gas powered washer. I feel it’s still less noisy than other bigger electric washers too. At the end of the day it still loud like all power washers though.

Having an issue with this power washer. I have it connected to a 50 foot garden hose that has very high water pressure. Washer runs for about 5 minutes then loses pressure. If I release the trigger then try again it will run for another 5 minutes. I notice when it loses pressure all 3 mode lights flash. The battery being used is fully charged. Called Ryobi customer service and they sent a replacement and the same situation is occurring with the new unit. Anyone have any thoughts on what might be wrong?
@morgan8937
@morgan8937 Год назад
Not sure if this is your issue or not. The filter and hose don't stay at the bottom of the bucket, below water surface level. Same issue for all brands of this kind of tool. You'd think they'd make a weighted cuff for around the hose because it'll work its way up and out of the bucket frequently. Each time it does this, you'll have to put it back under water, secure with a stronger clip than is provided and re-prime the hose with water by holding the trigger for up to 15 seconds ( or when re-flow resumes) whichever comes first. I don't want to risk you invalidating your brands warranty, but I have a Worx Hydroshot. Same principle. Worx recommend a few things that might be worth you trying 1) clean filters (one on the water-draw end of hose, and the other possibly located in the tool body's inlet connector. If either have picked up and trapped debris, it can cause blockage. Most often a priming issue though (I'd try this first) 2) Worx have videos recommending to turn tool upside down whilst running it until water flows. Then turn it back and use normally Seems to be what fixes the issue for most people. 3) Putting your water bucket at a higher level to operating height, e.g a step can help flow and assist priming Sometimes changing the nozzle setting (whilst trigger is being pulled) between its various degree of spray options seems to assist reflow. Even when filter seems submerged, sometimes it can seem like there is little but enough water towards the bottom of the bucket even when there is not What your brand or manufacture recommend may be different in what they suggest though. I hope it turns out to be a getting flow and keeping flow issue that can be remedied by the above.

I appreciate the comment. Due to the specificity of your request, you probably won't find that demonstration I'm afraid. I will say that it sounds like this is probably not the tool for a heavy-duty job like that.

@@ruckusdesigns yes the DIY coin ops have 700-1500 psi and form$10 I get 10 minutes of soap, foamy brush, spray on wax(not in my hood lol). Some have dryers as well. However- I treat my car like a boat and am very interested in a powerful portable. Ryobi has a 600psi and works has a 750psi. However-‘I’ll need a huge bucket of water lol. Thx

Is this Ryobi tool any good? Yes. No. Kinda. It's complicated. This is pretty much the same on every single Ryobi thing I own.

I bought one a few months ago and I was so thrilled with it because it was perfect for washing the winter salt of my car using a bucket of soapy water. But it broke (motor seized) after just three uses. It's too cheaply made. The motor whines for a minute before it managed to suck the water up the hose. I returned it and didn't dare try another one. Buyer beware! Epic Fail!

Sorry you had a problem, mine still runs like a champ. Next time maybe consider taking advantage of Home Depot’s very generous 3 year warrantee & had it replaced.🤷‍♂️
@ScottAyersStuff
@ScottAyersStuff Год назад
@@ruckusdesigns They did take it back because it was less than 3 months old. But I was too scared to get another one after that. If something breaks that fast I don't temp fate with replacing it with another one. A shame because I liked it and it would have been a simple way to remove winter salt from my car. If they make a better quality version in the future I'll try it again.
