Review: Sony Cybershot DSC-HX30 Camera 

i am legally blind so this zoom has helped me in class to see the board when its getting technical .....a real quiet zoom that no one notices and helps me immensely.

They are great. The commercials, even though there is a "Skip Ad" button that appears after a few seconds, are annoying. I wonder if there is a way around them?

I used to find myself trying to take some nice pictures on my camera, and some on my phone so that I can share them right away, if I had a camera like this, I could download them to my phone right away.

Wow, for such a small and compact camera it sure does have a lot of features and takes some pretty god pictures and video! I've never seen such amazing quality from such a small camera, if i were in the market for a camera, i would defiantly consider this. It's such a good deal for the price and features that it has!

I still love my Fuju EXR F-200 camera, talk about FULL manual modes ! the F70 / F/72 is also a great camera

That MIC is a pretty nice one.....the only thing I would be interested in this is for a VERY beginning film camera for making videos.

Great review, but I should point out that in the book it says "never push the flash unit up or down manually" having said that, my cam is the hx20, so I am assuming the hx30 is the same, I find these reviews a big help when looking for something, whatever it is, so keep up the good work.

The layout is almost identical to the Nikon S8000, I have one and I love it! :) This one looks great too!!

Hi. Today (11/24/12) Sony is only asking $299 on its website for this camera, plus a free leather camera bag. By the way, I understand there are no manual controls in video. Everything is on automatic, so no filter, no ISO changes, no white balance, etc. The only possible manual setting is +/- EV.

Well ur absolutely 100% right............ but your answer is completely about the Present.. when my question was entirely about the FUTURE (...?) I asked whether you think this Class of cameras will disappear Not in 5-6 months, but in 5-6 years, when most phones will have 18 megapixel cameras.

yeah man, this is a real cool looking camera man, easy setting and easy to work too man, I want this camera to be my main camera man, yeah man, yeah.

I have the HX9V. I never really was a fan of the Flash because it needs to pop up and in order for it to go down I needed to turn the camera off and I was afraid to push it down in fear of it breaking. Is the flash completely the same?

VERY good review AND presentation; the best I've seen in review videos. Nicely done. 6:23 Zoom controls (negative), you could hear. The controls switches, correct? Not the actual zooming motor mechanism?

Very informative video! I am looking to upgrade from my current TX7 to a camera with better optical zoom for video. I enjoy recording concerts I go to and the HX30 will certainly do the trick! Was just wondering if you had any experience taking this camera to record loud concerts? The TX7 had slight bass distortion when very close to the stage, do you think the HX30 will handle loud concert music better?

Yo Soldier !! Considering how phone-cameras are getting better and better.. DONT U THINK THAT THIS CLASS OF CAMERAS WILL EVENTUALLY DISAPPEAR ALL TOGETHER? Don't you think that only Professional Cameras Will Remain? (and the rest will be Phone Cameras) I mean -- in this pace, its only a matter of a few years before phones will take pics as good as this camera does... and then what? hi again! I had a chance to try this camera today and in manual mode.. its not fully manual :S first thing aperture you can only select 3.2 or 8 and EV auto adjusts. so by this its the same as hx9v and sony is misleading us because in their site it says yes (in hx9v says no). I'm confused with this manual mode
