I just bought a new cattle Chute just like this and I'm having a problem when I open the shoot to let the cow out it opens up really far or should I say really wide, but when I'm opening up to set it they only want to swing in just a little bit, what am I doing wrong is there some other lever I need to push in order to get it to swing back further
Thanks SF88! I hadn't figured that technique out yet to get the butt gate to stay up without a second person holding it up to release the pin. I'm going to try that today.
I will give you a little piece of advice that I have learned it’s better to have a facility to work cattle no matter the number of cows because it won’t take long to pay for its self just by Dave g a cow or two also when you have a good set up you will be more likely to work cattle and take better care of them I’ve been on both sides of it I never want to go back to roping cattle and trying to half ass it lol so I always say if you can afford it go ahead and get it you will never regret it
Denny's Country Life watch out for a used one. Also you can buy the head gate by itself and mount to a couple post and use gates on either side to catch. I actually had my chute built many years ago and it has got me by but I am going to upgrade in the near future.
