Many thanks for this video. I call a silver 1200G my own. A wonderful guy. I never want to miss him. My two 1210s are in the hobby room, now. Doing their job since 1985. As an aging DJ said to me in the same year before I bought then: "Remember, my son, girls are coming and going, the 1210s are for life!"

I bought two G Class for dijing and I must say that apart from the digital pitch, they do their job very well and are beautiful and armored. I hope they last as long as my SL-1200mk2s ...

On testing our sample in pre-production, I gotta admit, this is the cat’s meow among tables for music lovers AND turntablists. As a former DJ, these models scream durability and grace under fire - rock solid pitch management imo), braking, start ups, classic back cue and more. @@MusicDirectChicago The time will tell if they are comparable to the mk2s. For now they seem well built, apart from some “cheap” finishing. The weight of the tonearm is one example. I replaced them with those of my mk2s because they are more beautiful to look at.

I can already draw my own conclusions. produced absolutely not up to the old mk2 series. Central pin already with movement beyond tolerance. digital pitch with missing time range. It was enough to leave the analog pitch and it would have been a great product. Disappointed by the purchase made (2)

Everyone who bought GRs has the same problem. Make Technics aware of the problem by updating the firmware

I have a problem with my turntable. I don’t like that the tonearm lift only engages the tonearm in the last few millimeters. Is this normal? Could I have damaged it when securing the tonearm on the tonearm rest and moving the tonearm lift upwards?” Feel free to post this under a RU-vid video for assistance or clarification!

The record spinning is from 1972, but the track we hear is definitely from the golden era of disco in the late 70s. I would like to find it too..

Did you try the malaysian model? Any complain? I can’t find many reviews since they move their tt production to Malaysia, and I don’t know if there’s any known issue or sth… thanx!!

Stock is hard to come by; you have to get on a waiting to get a new one. And I’ve been seeing comments that the tonearm lifter issue that was present on the earlier models is not on the Malaysian ones.

Nitpicking considering the improvements made on the new models? Sure, and when compared to my VPI Traveler’s lift which would catapult the tonearm into the air when lifted, it’s probably just fine. Just wanted to mention my observations as of late.

When record production quality control improves to assure a pop and tick free experience I will buy the G model, until then my GR will suffice because what’s the point of having a turntable that delivers more pronounced pops and ticks?

Get a better phono preamp. My Darlington Labs MP-7 is a discreet transistor circuit design (no opamps) with no NFB. My SL-100C with Audio Technica VM95ML plays as quiet in the groove as a CD. Spooky quiet.

Nothing wrong with that - in fact the Automatic Deck is (kinda) making a comeback courtesy Pro-Ject Audio's Automat line of decks. Of course you're familir with the new SL1500C with auto off function, so there is that. - Bes Nievera/Music DIrect Brand Ambassador
