PSA DO NOT BUY THIS HEADSET: I’ve had a large amount of comments reporting that only one ear cup works along with a ton of people saying that if both sides do happen to work they are not balanced correctly. Therefore, I am NOT RECOMMENDING TO BUY THIS HEADSET. As the QA issues are simply NOT ACCEPTABLE. Especially, from a brand as big as Logitech/Astro. They need to take this one back to the drawing board.
that haapened to me on right side only worked but astro sent me a full replacement and im using them rn and its fine as im typing this one thing ive noticed is the bass alot better
Mine started doing this and tried everything finally plugged into my other controller worked with both plugged back into original controller and both worked idk if I’ll have to do this each time as I just fixed it tonight after like 3 weeks lol
i had similar issues with only 1 ear working and a broken mic, make sure the wire is FULLY plugged into the headset until you hear a click, this fixed everything and haven't had any issues at all since

just figured out if you have an xbox and you have an elite controller, you have to go to your accessory settings go to the three dots under the controller and go to volume and turn up the volume
Bro you are a legend, I have usually gone for £200+ headsets like aarctis pros, a50s and turtle beach pros... bought these to try, put them on an felt awfully quiet, I came to this video and seen this. Fixed straight away. Cheers bud.
i dont get it man, everyone says the audio is great but I get mines and wow what a downgrade in audio compared to my gen 1 astro A10s, literally was horrible compared to the gen 1

I can agree with this statement. I just sent them back and bought another set of Gen1 A10. 1st: the Gen1 is WAY more comfortable with less clamping force on the head. Gen2 gave me a headache almost instantly. 2nd: the bass on gen1 felt better and more present than the gen2. 3rd I feel like the overall sound quality of the Gen1 was miles ahead of the Gen2. 4th: the gen2 headphones are small , I still had more room to expand headset on my gen1 whereas I had the gen2 completely extended and it still felt too small.
@@larrymclarryson1804 I really appreciate you taking the time to share your findings. A common theme I'm finding is that the Gen 2 A10 was a complete miss from Astro. As a lot of people are saying similar things as you. Since I never tried them I couldn't share my thoughts. The Gen 2 also have balance issues where one side is often louder than the other. Which is ridiculous.
@@asmokersphilosophy I have both headphones and I can tell a clear difference between them. Gen 1 has a more fuller sound with better bass. Gen 2 sounds tinny. I don't know what they did to it but its not the same.
The gen 2 version is like a old Apple charging cable , you have to tweak the cord just right to get even audio. ( left earmuff doesn’t work properly ) At first I thought I was going crazy but after seeing these reviews I’m definitely not .

@@clipzx9563 I don't test a lot of budget headsets. Also, don't know what you are playing on. But my favorite budget headset I've tried is the HS80 Pro Wired. But I believe it mostly only works on PC. I think I've used it on PS5 as well. But can't remember. But unbelievable mic. Great sound. Comfort is so-so.
Been using this for the last 3 days or so, I'll try to take back the money. Do you have any other recommendations? I had the A10 Gen 1 previously but it got kind of heavy on such a small top pad. If it wasn't for that, would stay with it.
I'm not sure if people are getting this, but anytime i use these headsets, the playback will ALWAYS bleed into the input. I can't listen to anything without people constantly commenting on the audio bleed-through.

I have an audio bug where when i join a party voice channel/ discord voice chat when ever i watch something on my computer my friends can faintly hear the audio from my pc. i have looked for an update on all my drivers and there all up to date. Please suggest any ways i can fix this issue.
I've heard a plethora of headsets have this issue. I'm still not fully sure what is causing it. I've chalked it up to either: 1. A defect of the headset. 2. Possible user error? To explain my thoughts behind that one. A). Volume of headset could be cranked so that when the microphone is down and close enough to the person that it is picking up that volume and transmitting it through to their teammates. This would be fixed by either reducing the volume in the headset, reducing the volume of your microphone, or using software to try and cutoff background noise from the microphone. B.) Additionally, depending on headset sometimes people incorrectly have their "stream port" (the port that allows you to have all your sound, voice channel, game, microphone all going to their teammates) selected instead of just the "microphone" going to them. This would be fixed by selecting the correct microphone. C.) Similar to B. But for some reason the game/chat audio channels are bleeding into the voice/microphone channel. I would say this is due to a defect. But changing some audio settings on your PC could improve/fix this. I'd play around with different sound settings both in windows and in discord (or whatever voice thing you are using) to see if that makes the problem stop.
Foam usually is put in there to change the sound along with increase comfort by adding more padding. So, by removing it can certainly change the sound and comfort. Out of curiosity why did you remove it?

Any issues with the resistive track in the volume wheel wearing down? I have to keep it at 1/2 volume and boost in software because otherwise, the left or right speaker will just not work
I'm a bit sad with these. I had my gen 1 for almost five years with no issues, they were amazing. This ones are ok but and this might be a me problem but I can't get them to work on my ps5. They're fine on pc and Xbox.
What do you mean they don't work with your PS5? Also, I've found everyone (I think) who had the Gen 1 seem to be disappointed with the Gen 2. At least in my comment section. Which is unfortunate.
@@LeQuietkid While I agree that is normally the case. With this being a 3.5mm Aux connection I'm not sure if that matters (as usually that is a USB/Wireless protocol that needs changing which requires you to choose Xbox/PlayStation). But I could be completely wrong about that.
@@ThomasMuehler I think it has something to do with the software in the headset, 'cause they specifically have two versions: One for an Xbox & PC, and one for PS4/5
@@LeQuietkid On their website I see PC/Mac, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo. But when you select a version it says "also compatible with (all the other options you didn't pick)". Which again makes me think that it doesn't matter. If I knew where my A10's were I would test them with my PS5. But everything I know makes me continue to lean towards they all should work on everything and the only thing changing is the color. But again, like you are saying the software could be slightly different. But the problem that I have with that is that I don't think this headset has any software. It should be pure analog. As there isn't anything that requires software like wireless headsets do. But then if I go into their support and under the A10 Gen 2 for PS or Xbox it says it only supports one or the other. So, now I'm thoroughly perplexed. As for 3.5 mm it shouldn't matter. Maybe I'll ask support and see what they have to say.
Bought this about two months ago and within the first 24 hours of use, I got zapped on the left side of my head where the ear muffs are. Was wanting to see if anyone else has had this issue? It’s happened multiple times since and I just retired the headset and went back to my old A10s
That's definitely not supposed to happen and is a defect. I would either exchange them in store or go through an RMA. Also, to answer your question; No, you are the first person (in my comment section and from what I've seen at least) to mention that issue.
Jeez, I'm starting to think these headphone weren't a good purchase, I have a friend that has atsro A10 gen 1 s and thought it was decent quality for its price. I haven't had any issues but it seem these won't last long. My friends gen 1s have lasted him almost 3 years and it might have been best to get those. Its been 11 months from this comment. How are they now?
I went against my better judgement and used the headset more and more, eventually the cloth over the earpad's tore and came apart, however this is over countless hours of gaming, I have yet to have the shocking issue again yet, so maybe good sign, however after about a year of gaming, I swapped back to the old gen of A10's, and Idk man, these are just so much better. @@ballz6493
Just an FYI On the single pin connector, the left channel is on the tip, so if the left channel is problematic, check your connection. Might still get apair.
Very beneficial information. Appreciate it! Personally, I have checked my connection multiple times with the same issue. I could straight body slam it into the port and would get the same results.

And absolutely, there is going to always be a certain percentage of failure, and that is often something people overlook. But the percentage of failures I've seen for this product appears to be abnormally high from my perspective.
@@ThomasMuehler Yup! I bought a purple pair, to go with my new computer setup. I love my IEM (in ear monitors), but even with the smallest tips, I can't wear them too long, or they start to really start to bother my ears. I'm legally blind, and love music, and gotta say, these sound pretty good.
@@RKingis That’s awesome! I’m glad you are enjoying them. While I too love IEMs I find over the ear to still be the most comfortable for long periods. And I do agree that these have surprisingly good sound for the price. I just wish the left/right balancing was less defective.

@@DELLB93 I love the name of that headset. I checked it out. Looks really awesome. The Cobalt Blue color looks FIRE. I can't guarantee a review as money is very tight right now. But if I were to get a headset that would likely be the one I would want to try so we'll see. It just might happen. I appreciate the recommendation. In the past I've loved Turtle Beach but it's been a while since I've tried one of their headsets. My biggest hang up that makes me unable to get past the Astro A50 is that it still comes with a base station for charging and an optical input where I can use it on my TV or anything else with an optical port. Where the USB stick that most wireless headsets come with these days usually just work on PC and a singular console. But looks like this guy works on all of them which is really neat. I'm hoping Astro releases a new Astro A50 with modern age updates that keeps the things I like and massively improves on the shortcomings.
I just upgraded to these because my gen 1 a10s broke and now my mic when I talk to my friends sounds awful and distorted I’m gonna return them unless I can find a work around idk.
Unfortunately, this tends to be the general consensus I am getting in my comment section. Where pretty much across the board people are highly disappointed about some aspect of this headset that makes it a deal breaker. Sorry it didn't work out. But I do appreciate you taking the time to let me know as that really does help me when people ask about it.
i work in a gaming company and the amount of complains we get for A10s and A50s is insane! i hate this brand, all the A10s have either the mic problem or one side is not working, we have tried suggesting the cable to be fully inserted and numerous other solutions but they almost never work. for the A50s they have a very weak battery and fails to get charged.
Yeah, I'm not quite sure how the A10's even made it to market. The A50's I haven't seen the weak battery. But I have seen the firmware on the base station corrupting itself and then not being able to connect to the headset itself which bricks them. If you're out of warranty you're kinda out of luck. I guess you could try getting a new base station. But I think it corrupts the firmware on both the headset and base station. Happened to me twice I think. Along with the headband breaking easily (the padded portion if you remove it will shred the plastic making them no longer attach). With how long the A50's have been out I can't believe they still have issues and they haven't made a new generation. Especially, with them being so out of date now connection wise. Granted I still love the optical port for normal TV viewing. All in all, that does not surprise me. But I do appreciate you letting me know. As it really is helpful!
Just got gen 2’s and only one side works. Major downgrade from the gen 1’s. I had the gen 1’s for years and never had a problem. I will be returning the gen 2’s and I will not be buying another pair. A buddy of mine also got gen 2’s and had the same problem.
I think the Astro A10 (assuming they fit) will give a more universally liked sound profile. Making it better for single player and media watch. But struggles a bit with competitive play where the G335 is definitely the winner. However, I think the BEST gaming headset is the Corsair HS80 Wired. I haven't done my review on it yet. But HOLY CRAP I'm in love and they are the perfect blend between both of these where they have excellent comfort, sound (both single player and competitive and the best I've actually tried, period) along with a wonderful microphone (that is seriously unreal). So my choice would be the HS80, or saving up until you can get it. Whatever one you choose I would love to hear your thoughts on it.
It comes in the box simply so it will work on everything. As some computers/laptops have a single 3.5 mm port that does everything while others have them split into two ports. So depending on your personal setup depends on whether you should use it or not. As if you have a two port design then yes, you’ll need to use it to have both sound and microphone. If you don’t use the microphone then it doesn’t matter. Or if you have a single port that works for both it also doesn’t matter. Hopefully that made sense. If not let me know.
@@micahfleming2235 Are you using the 3.5 mm adapter? Is it fully plugged in? Have you changed your sound settings on you PC to be on the right device? Is the volume turned up?
If they fit your ears and if they have correct balancing of left/right. Then yes, I would say they would do an adequate job for the price at watching movies on a laptop.
Iv always used Astros really like the brand mainly because of how cheap they while being decent at the same time but the gen 2 has had nothing but problems iv had this headset for probably 5 months now and from day one it’s had problems, like the right ear lost all base it has audio but sounds terrible and I feel like I’m deaf in my right ear
Yeah, this headset has critical issues with correct balancing of both earcups. To the point in my opinion it should be recalled and not sold anymore. As the amount of comments I've gotten with the same exact issue is staggering. Otherwise, I'm with you. Usually a big fan of Astro. I also think these for the most part are good. But the balance issues are a critical flaw that ruins everything.
@@ThomasMuehler i completely agree with you on that I don’t play competitive games so being able to hear everything happening around me doesn’t matter so much but this is just pathetic I had no where near as many problems with the gen 1, the only real big problem I had with the gen 1 was my microphone had got an awful static noise to the point where it wasn’t usable at all.
@@Bxis534 Which can also be highly frustrating if you game with others. But there are ways around a bad microphone where there aren't ways around bad or defective sound. lol. I've had a lot of people come in and say they loved the Gen 1's. So it's a shame they messed up so bad on the Gen 2's.

Yeah, it was very surprising to me when I first got them and was like "is this made for children?!". lol If you play on PC and depending on how big your ears are, the Corsair HS80 Wired is my favorite "Budget" headset ($99). Has the best mic I've ever heard on a headset and has great sound.

I'm not impressed with this headset. Just simply because the right/left channel balance seems defective on a regular basis. Where often on side is louder than the other. So, as long as you are willing to return/exchange a few of them to ensure you get a good copy then I think these are a good choice. I think especially if you struggle with cords then making sure to get one that is detachable is important and I'm not sure how many in this price category do.

@@bilalkhan-uv2db Unfortunately, most of the headsets I try are in the $150 - $300 range. The lowest I usually go is $100. In which I'd recommend the Corsair HS80 Wired. I enjoyed the Edifier G4 TE as well which is more of an unknown brand. I think it's closer to $60 - $70 though. So, sorry I could be much help here.
Lol, I got them and on the second day I owned them the left ear stopped working properly, it will cut out all the time and when it’s not cutting out it’s ver very quiet, all you can hear is the right headphone.
No! That is terrible news. I have had a lot of people mention that the left and right earcups are not equal. I've also had others say the sound isn't as good as the Gen 1. So it looks like this was a total miss from Astro.
No. By that I mean that any equalizer (for the most part) will perform relatively the same. And when you EQ a product it is still limited by whatever the original EQ (made by manufacturer) is. Which is a complicated way of me saying. That if you enjoy the sound or already think this is good sounding then by EQ you MAY make it better. But if you already don't like the sound I don't think there is any EQ that will transform a product to all the sudden be good. But you could/should check that opinion with other people.
I would imagine that you need to open "Realtek" Audio Center (the name is going to vary a lot) but Realtek is likely to be in it. Which is a separate application to your normal sound settings that tells your laptop that you have a headset plugged in and to activate the microphone through your 3.5 mm combo jack. You would think this would happen automatically, but I've found that most of the time it doesn't.
I highly suggest NOT getting these. Idk if i got a dud pair or something but my a10 gen 2s are awful. Quite comfortable yes but the sound quality is shit and one side came noticeably louder than the other.
I too noticed one side being louder than the other. I thought this was just me getting unlucky and getting a deflective unit. But now I'm wondering if that is a bigger issue than I thought or if we both just got unlucky. Regardless, this would qualify it for an RMA and that should be used if you did like them and aren't returning them. Anyways, outside of that I enjoyed the sound for the price. Outside of poor balancing (which I agree is not acceptable and I do mention in the review) what made it "shit" to you? Asking to hopefully make better audio sections in my review. Always hard to get those right.

I have this exact headset and it broke twice, best buy had to send me another one now the ear muff piece fell off and I had to glue it back on and theres a rattling ball that is inside of it, like something came loose. I only use it cuz i really like the sound quality
@hardkol Oh man, it looks like you've drawn the short stick for almost every possible problem the A10's can have! Lol. I'm so sorry that sounds terrible and incredibly frustrating. I'm not the best person to ask. As my focus tends to be on the more expensive peripherals over ones in this price bracket. With that said the ones I've tried. 1. HyperX Cloud III is excellent and my recommendation. As honestly I think it does everything well. 2. Corsair HS80 Wired. But I don't believe it works on PS5. Unsure of your console of choice. 3. Logitech G335 were so-so. Good comfort, build quality, appearance, but the sound can be hit or miss for people. As it is very flat and competitive focused. 4. A20's weren't bad. But nothing great either. A10's have nice sound but a ton of QA issues as you know. Heard good things about Steelseries Arctis Nova series. I'm not usually a fan of Steelseries. But enjoy the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless a lot. But they are crazy expensive and not worth full retail price. Only on sale. And at that price point I'd recommend others that I think are better. But yeah, HyperX Cloud III i think would be your jam. Similar sound profile, very comfortable, good build quality, solid brand, attractive, acceptable microphone.
You're going to need to be more specific. Yes, I get 3D audio on PS5 (when plugged into the controller) and PC (when I go into sound settings and select Dolby Atmos or Windows Sonic).
I just bought these for me and my wife and for some reason the mics aren't working on both it's for our Xbox I could be xboxs online service as I doubt both pairs have faulty mics but the sound I cannot complain about compared to my tv speakers 😂 overall I like them but the mic issue is a worry
That is concerning. The amount of comments I have gotten about microphones not working on Xbox (on a ton of different headsets) has been exhaustive. Seriously, its a ton. As a lot of the times it seems like it either A. doesn't register it is actually connected. B. For some reason the headset is not pairing correctly with the profile so it doesn't register the microphone. C. Defective equipment (either console, controller, or headset). Often USB port is defective. But this is 3.5mm so that can't be it. D. User error. As for your particular issue I really can't say. As this headset has had more issues than most. To the point I have a hard time recommending it. As not getting a lemon seems to be difficult. Mostly with the left/right balance being incorrect. Personally, I would try to plug in your headsets to a computer/cellphone and see if the microphone works there. That way you can confirm if the microphone itself is busted or if it is something happening with the Xbox. Then depending on your preference I'd try to exchange at the store. Otherwise this would qualify for an RMA.
I have this headset and I hate it. It is very comfortable but earcups are tiny. Also atleast for mine the left cup creeks like crazy any time its moved and its annoying asf AND it bleeds through the mic...... I'd stay away from this one.

What green cord are you talking about? The green cord on the headset above the earcups? Just connects both of them together for sound. The cord that has 1 male aux port that splits into to female aux ports just separates microphone and headphone for computers or things that accept that like shown in the video around 7:26 mark.
@@vNAZO So every headset has a wire that connects the left and right side as that allows the audio through. Along with helping match left/right audio. Otherwise, the drivers wouldn't get any signal. The green cable is just a stylized way to get that done. With it being coiled helps prevent it from breaking incase it gets caught on something.
just got this headset, everything works fine but the mic. if anyone can help me i practically have to put my mouth to the mic for it to work. all my game settings and pc settings r turned up what am i doing wrong?

It can be under a different name. That is just one of the examples I thought of. But it should have come already downloaded on your computer. Unless if you built it yourself. At which point it still usually automatically downloads via Windows Update.
I'm unsure if this is a statement or a question. But if it is a question. Yes, you would plug this into your controller (assuming you have one that has a 3.5 mm aux port) and you would be able to hear and talk on your PS4. However, there is a severe defect where the left and right channels are not balanced and usually one side does not work or is greatly reduced in sound. Making it so I cannot recommend you buy them.
my audio is fine but the ear pad size hurts my ears I searched "bigger A10 gen 2 ear pads" but couldn't find anything its hard to wear them for too long
Yeah, the earcups are shockingly small. Not sure what the thought process was behind that. It would be nice to have bigger ear pads but I can't see how that would work.
@@ThomasMuehler Probably 2, I've used the gen 1's since release so I know how to properly connect the audio cable and for the entire time i've had it no issues.
@@cojoe4896 Hopefully, that didn't come across as me sounding demeaning. I've plugged in a bunch of stuff and still sometimes get that wrong. So, I always check that first in case I'm having issues. But I think 2 is likely as a lot of people are having correct balancing issues with this headset.
@@ThomasMuehler No you're fine man, Yeah I feel the problem might be that the 3.5 is sunken into the headset with the gen 2's while the gen 1's jack kind of protrudes out of the headphones, with the gen 1's you get that hard solid loud click when it's in right but with the gen 2's no matter how hard you try to connect the 3.5 you just get a quite snap

I haven't tried the HyperX Cloud 2 so I can't say. Recently I tried the Corsair HS80 Wired and am blown away by it. So that would be the one that I recommend. Amazing sound and microphone. Comfortable. Just a great headset.
