Just ordered one, probably the most exciting and riveting review of a product I've ever seen. I'm so glad to be buying one, my life is literately complete.
The reason electric vacuums are better is because they quite literally suck the dirt out of the carpet where as this only gets the surface. Meaning all the dust and dirt never gets cleaned.
Thank you for your excellent review. Mine is just ordered as I am useless with filters on my electric vacuum hand held. I was looking for a Eubank but Bissell has real Brissell brushes and seems to be easy to empty. Your review shows me I seem to be correct. I have a tiny flat so you have sorted me out. Mind you this must be a few years out of date as mine cost £19.99. Thank you.
Greetings, Melville Bissell developed an early carpet sweeping machine to aid in cleaning the crockery shop he and his wife Anna owned and operated. The device was patented as the Bissell Carpet Sweeper in 1876. In 1883, Bissell built the company's first manufacturing plant for carpet sweepers in Grand Rapids. Electric vacuum cleaners did not really appear on the scene until the 1920s.
Greetings, Yes, the handle is metal. I prefer this particular model, called Natural Sweep in the U.S., because the handle is not attached with a spot weld, but actually screws into the base. My other Bissell (model) Easy Sweep's handle was spot welded to the sweeper base and it broke. Yeah, it was my fault. The lesson is: Don't try to push immovable objects jammed under your bed with a carpet sweeper! But I have a better model now that is also backed by a lifetime warranty! So I win.
+Jeanie Kenkel If this bissell does have a weak point it it its performance in corners, I would recommend using a little hand brush or a mini handheld vacuum cleaner.
