I've seen your each and every reviews on different airlines. And I must say the reviews are so honest and true. Always be like this Josh cahill. never change yourself :)
Have just returned from Europe flying VNA Business class On the way over the crew were very friendly but hopeless On the way back they were excellent, like you said, it depends on what crew you get. Food was good, seats comfy and I found enough to watch on the IFE For $8,400 AUD for 2 of us return from Australia, with stopover in Hanoi on way back makes it a great choice 👍
Hey Josh wonderful review as always. A small suggestion. Could you please use a lapel mic going forward? It was quite noisy when you boarded and was difficult to hear what you were saying
I've been a sky team member for nearly a decade and only fly with Vietnam airlines. They're a fantastic airline, not to mention their amazing onboard services. I strongly believe, as well as many other of their loyal customers, that their old fashioned and way behind time. It's time to upgrade to the airbus A380 introducing new first-class cabin. Do anyone else agree with me?
Hey cheetang, I can tell you this, as a mostly states owned airlines, VNA cant make significant changes without the approvals from our governments. Everybody knows they have to change, they just dont have the authority to do it, yet.
I have only traveled internally on Vietnam Airlines both quite adequate with service being better that I have had when I have been flying internally in the US and Aus.
Thanks for letting me travel virtually with you, Josh. I'm temporarily grounded because I had a heart attack a fortnight ago, so my doctors have me under "house arrest." I may be allowed to start travelling again in the spring, domestically, then hopefully internationally. Your travels make me happy and keep my mind occupied, so ta very much.
Im going on my second micro trip, inspired by yourself and another youtuber who recommend solo travel for anyone. I'll be out of BHX this time, going via Doha to Singapore on Qsuites. I now have the time for leisure work, instead of pure work. First time in Business class too.
Vietnam Airlines gets a big thumbs up. Im off to the ABBA museum in Stockholm in July flying Singapore Airlines A350 Business class service via Moscow then after Sweden it's onto Poland then the UK. Every sector is Business class with SK,SQ,LO and KLM this trip will be fun✈️😄✈️
I have flown with them to UK. Good product for the price. Just make sure you get a one connection flight as some options have 2 stops which involve visas transferring to domestic which isn't fun at all. China Airlines I flew recently was much better and same price range via Tiepai
Thanks Josh. I am about to book my annual flight from Frankfurt to Melbourne in October with Vietnam Airlines. Your review always seems so down to earth to me and I really look forward to them. I had heard some good things about Vietnam Airlines but, as you said, the fare is about one third of Qantas price and it seems that the service is not one third of Qantas standard. I'm a loyal Aussie, love to support our national carrier when I can, but, they have priced themselves out of the market for me now. Also, I am always looking for alternatives to flying via any of the middle east carriers. They are also out of the price range for retirees like me who live in Europe but want to get back to Australia every year. I can no longer justify the price difference.
Hey Josh, love your content and your honest reviews........not like some others that are simply just sell outs to the airlines so they can get complementary everything!! One thing I urge to fix is the sound on your videos........it is either too low or it then suddenly comes through way too loud. I hope there is a solution. Loving your work, keep it up!!
Awww Josh, you are so silly when you’ve had a couple of glasses of wine! And yes, I was praying you were going to show us the bathroom. As usual, another awesome review, and p.s. your breakfast omelette was actually a quiche!❤️👍✈️
flown with them before.. found it a little bit cramped for a larger fellow like me.. if they took out one row and spaced it out a touch more and took out maybe an inch or two of the side next to the window it would be perfect.. for bigger framed/stockier people its a little cramped.. found the staff very friendly.. better than Bamboo Airways actually..
Flew this to and from London on business class on 2017. The Dreamliner had been used for only 1 year and the crew was great. Too bad you didn't show the Pho that you could enjoy on board and also in the their lounge. Yummy....I will fly them again for sure.
These two weeks are going to be the worst of my life. After that I have to prepare finals🤯. Fortunately in January i’m going to Europe💃🏼 Please fly Aerolíneas Argentinas!!
Constructive complaint..their are mic's that capture your voice and not the airplane rushing sounds, or the people around you. Other than that a solid review. I have flown VN airlines before in economy, and it was cramped for my 6'3 inch frame.
No overhead bins in business class? Josh, look around. I see overhead bins everywhere.... Still love you 😂 Ps: I almost died seeing that guys face at 11:02 🤣
What he means is that the luggage shelves are tucked more into the upper sides of the aircraft, rather than directly above your head. That way it gives the aircraft a more roomy feeling above your head.
I love your reports. I have been watching many of them over the last few days. I only have one critique my friend, on some of your reports the volume is very muted, or not consistent. Maybe your microphone is not in the same place? I love how you go the ME a lot. Do you think you're treated any differently than some of the other AV Geeks that report? Say vs Sam Chui? Maybe because you're caucasian and you do look different? Just curious. One of the things I love about your reporting is, that there's equal parts in business class as there is on coach. Some AV Geeks only report in business class. Keep up the good work.

Before Vietnam Airlines was established, Philippine Airlines "Code Shared" flights from Manila to Ho Chi Min City and Hanoi in the name of Vietnam Airlines. Let us hope that Vietnam Airlines can live up to the same level of service.....
Good review. I'd like to think you're more highlighted mention of the baby change table was due to one of my previous comments, but I'm far too modest to think that 😉. There are other things you could ask about and not even film but mention, such as if they have a children's choice of meal, or what "amenities" they provide (colouring books, crayons, souvenirs etc). Only suggestions, don't think I'm bossy 😆
Yeah, I hear you about waiting to relax and enjoy looking at the TV as well...Yeah, after the wine I do like drinking tea selections...Laying down with a pillow in the chair is nice...
Lol, FYI - they've kept that pair of non-noise cancelling headphones for forever! It's never been an issue for Vietnamese travellers but I can only imagine how it can be for the Westerners! But to be fair, I do have problems with it too hahaha!
Great review as always. I don't understand why people want a toilet review 😂 I have OCD if I go in the bathroom and it is a mess...I clean it, seriously! 😯 I am travelling with "Skytrax" 3 Star Airlines?? Edinburgh to Gothenburg - Ryanair Gothenburg to Gdansk - Wizz Air Total £39 Enjoy your travels. PS Josh can you review Brussels Airlines Economy in Europe, it's like a low cost carrier.
The Wanderer Been flight with Brussels airlines last September from Brussels to Gran Canaria island and back . Airbus A320 and really uncomfortable . Business- class with 3-3 configuration and the seat are really small . The benefit you got from it is drinks and food included . i paid for my tickets almost 400 euros ( light and relax class ) included hand and ruimluggage . The 4,5 hours flights without any inflight entertaiments , they only provide two magazines to read . with economy class passengers if you want meal or drinks you pay for it . On the flight back i tried thier food that cost 10 euros for sweet and sour chicken with rice and a small cup of soup . Food quality really disapointing . there are 4 tiny pieces of chicken stucks that really too little. There are 3 women that sitting front of my seat speaking nonstop and really anoying but Canbin crue way to busy with trying selling things than to give them a reminded . Well what can i say : 2/5 scored and a really disapointed experience for a star alliance member . Don't know if their international long Haul flight outside of Europe are better but for me this not worth
Hei Josh! I almost feel like leaving a running comment. I lived and worked in Vietnam from 1999-2004. Worked for an NGO, so flew a lot. Stayed away from international in those days. Wonderful to see how much VNA has changed! There were Ilyushins still operating late 90s!!
Back then, Vietnam airlines were nothing but nepotism and corruption. Flight attendants had to bride for their jobs and they were not properly trained let alone their command of foreign languages. The airlines changed when Japanese investors bought their shares. Old Soviet planes are not used for domestic and international flights. They're still used in military services or not I don't know.
We flew SYD-FRA-SYD Business Class in 2019. At only A$4,000 it was cheaper than Premium Economy on Qantas. It's no Qatar Business Class but at half the price it is great value for money. We even got a free hotel room and city tour during the long layover on the return trip. The lounge in Hanoi however is rubbish.
My wife and I have traveled with VA on a few occasions prior to the lockdown in business We found them great value for money, service was fantastic, food was great, and really why would you use airline headphones and not your own?? Regardless, again we will fly VA again
Dang, I didn’t know first class Vietnam airline has this stuff. In one of my flight, we payed for first class (it’s like encomoy class America but better).
Hey Josh. I have travelled Vietnam Airlines twice. Both experiences was not of the greatest. Both Business Class. The worst for me was the Domestic flight from Da Nang to Hanoi. I have to agree, flight costs are great
Did you know that the food service separated by course originated from Russia. Having all the courses served at once was the norm. But then the space you have in a plane seat can be restricting.
Hi Josh, off too Thailand 2 times before year end. 24 november from Zurich and return on the 29th. Then 17th December until the 6th January. Will you be around asia then? Regards Edi
08:00 "Technical issue" - - "ahh crap we didn't load Josh's starter 11:00 Guy in seat across the aisle - whats this bloke doing? I kind of liked the tongs that they used to serve the plate. Never been bothered about then not existing but I thought they were a nice touch. I'm okay with a little wait between course but agree that there's nothing worse than when the service takes hours.
On headphones, I think most people now carry their own headphones or IEMs as those provided by airlines are rubbish (though Turkish use pretty decent Denon headphones). With the money saved flying VN you could buy a pair of excellent Sony, Bose or similar ANC headphones and still be well ahead.
flew to Hanoi in Nov 2019 in this cabin;not at all bad apart from limited movie choice although " Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" took a reasonable chunk out of the journey time!
That popular design of reverse herring bone seat. I've always wondered why they don't do it as herring bone. That way the passenger would be next to the window, and further from the Isle for more privacy. Just remove the plastic shroud from the seat and there'd be nothing obstructing the window. The storage compartment would be between the passenger and the isle, giving privacy without the need for the gimmicky door that BA introduced.
Thank you for flying and reviewing our airline. We love our wide-body airplanes and our livery.I feel so proud that our airline is being reviewed by a famous trip reporter ❤️
Josh you simply must come visit Puerto Rico. Actually I am laughing to myself because Josh is a little bit twisted and mellow. I'm glad that he took a piss without the camera!
Another nice video. Just a suggestion. Many times engine or as u mentioned AC noise get really loud, and its hard to understand. What about text along with ur commentary? If its not much of hassle pl.
6:49 the seat is designed that way, its just how it is i have flown the very first 787-8 from vietnam airlines 3 years ago, and the business class seat had that exact same thing its just how it is
I just figured out who you sound like! Serge from Beverley Hills Cop with Eddie Murphy. Serge is the character who works in an art gallery and he speaks and sounds just like you do
Bro if you could level out the volume outputs of each of the segments, that'd be great. It's annoying when you have to crank up the volume to max to hear you talking in the lounge shot and then you start that transition music and it blows up my eardrums. A little equalization would be great!!
