And John killed other killers and did himself die in the end. It feels like a video game. These all are some of the best made films. It's still very true though, irrespective of backlash or boycott that films have the power to influence and they aren't really forced to use it for good but imo, they have duty with respect to what they are making. And like your Jawan example, it does influence people, even if for a moment. Birth Of A Nation is one of the most technically revolutionary movies made and not in circumstances like the Nazi movies, according to Griffith he was just telling a story but it did cause race riots and rebirth of the KKK. I have still seen people online talking about how KKK was important when it was formed, basing their perception totally on the movie. Animal isn't that deep. In fact I have loved many more problematic movies and unabashedly so; and it isn't really "that bad" like some 80s and 90s stuff, but saying a movie doesn't have any moral obligation is wrong imo. A story can be morally grey, it might ask us questions we aren't comfortable with and follow the antivillain or even the villain; but consequences are important. What I am trying to say, I don't have a problem if a movie has one morally bankrupt thing or one misdirection, I even hate the censor board; and I may like even bleaker films for reasons; I just prefer consequences and saying a film doesn't have a responsibility is wrong.

Actually you can say something is bad, because that's an opinion and opinions are allowed to be subjective. Movies like Animal are not the ones that will give competition to Hollywood, beacuse its poorly written and very long for a mindless action flick. There were a lot of plot points that ended up nowhere or were ultimately meaningless. I feel animal could lose a whole hour of runtime without affecting the plot in anyway, 2.5 hours for an action thriller is perfect

Yes.. I do agree with your point. The cinematic effects and the role play might be very good. But its psychological impact on its audience which is a serious matter is swept under the carpet when we promotes such films. What's worth the entertainment when it has potential to cause great damage to the minds? We all live in a society and no matter how hard we scream for liberalisation, (the uprising from shackles places on individuals in a society) we are very deeply connected with each other and our actions can have multiple effects on the welfare of the society. So to be under restrain, to control our 'animal' inside is actually a good thing. But such restrain is not followed by many due to strong change in our society (ideological changes like liberatisation and many other). The type of content we feed ourselves on, the type of surrounding we live in all of these things influence our personality, greatly. Such movies promote nothing but degradation of women and mental instability. Many, if not all, get encouraged to commit the same misdeeds because they see people clapping around and cheering for such scenes. Second thing bro in Kashmir files is kind of true story and Animal is completely fictional, if we celebrate the Kill Bill and Wolf of wall street then I see no issue with Animal, I watched it I loved it.

@@harshjoshi4539 kill Bill and WoWS are actually good movies, Beatrix and Jordan have actual character arcs and great action/comedy. Animal has neither. The humor esp is never funny and sometimes inappropriately placed, and at least 50% of it is terrible, no jokes like "What's long, hard and full of seaman? A submarine!" but a lot of juvenile humor you'd hear in a classroom of teenagers I don't want the movie banned or anything to restrict its viewing, it has received the 'A' rating and that is sufficient. If anything, writing, characterization and editing must be improved, I can watch 2.6 hours of "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" or 2.5 hours of "inglorious bastards" because the characterization is excellent and pace is tight, Animal's only decently fleshed out character is Ranbir's, so much so the final fight just felt like Ranvijay beating a homeless Bobby Deol. Also 3.3 hours for a mindless action film is INSANE, there were so many plot threads that led nowhere are were ultimately irrelevant (Ranvijay's sisters, Zoya arc, heart transplant arc, Body double arc, cheating repercussions arc) that ended up padding run time Ngl, I felt Tiger 3 was a better film than Animal

What do you expect from impressionable youth? I grew up in the 90s and thought stalking was completely okay and good hearted mischief until a couple of chaps in my chemistry class got arrested. My gen z cousins have a totally different view and find that cringe cz they grew up on a cinematic diet and public discourse where this wasn't glorified. We are the result of our childhood influences so unlearning for any society is hard and risky.

I didn't like Animal all that much, I feel there's a much better movie in there if we cut out the fat. 3+ hrs for a mindless action flick is insane, I was already bored by the halfway mark because the film had fed me at least 2-3 story threads that ended up going nowhere, and action was just Ranbir's character farming XP from fodder units

Pathaan and Jawan were better movies simply because their editing was tighter, and action better Pathaan and Jawan actually had my attention, and though they too fumbled on the main villain, didn't fumble it as bad as Animal. Bobby's character had such little development at the end, that I didn't care Vijay was beating the crap out of him, even if they blew my ear with the dramatic BGM. and there were so many plot points that could be removed to do this, like the underwear scene, all the scenes with Zoya (they may be relevant in the future, but they should've been way shorter) and the whole cheating thing first with his cousins and then himself. The movie also forgot the sisters by the second half, so why give them so much screen time in the first half??? Give all that screen time to the villains, they have a shared history, which is not even shown, simply given to the audience via exposition by dadaji. But the film tries to display their parallels DURING THE FIGHT ITSELF, why? Animal is a mediocre film in my opinion, it needs better action, better story with actual emphasis on the main characters. With all the emphasis on the sisters, I thought the film had something in store for them, but even before the second half they're already reduced to cameos. Same for the body double, same for the cousins. They had a cool scene walking with the guns though

@@astindods_ my requirements are very simply, what I see on screen should matter, and for most of Animal, it doesn't. And it's not just a couple of scenes, entire major events end up nothing burgers or undercooked in Animal
