i remember when i was 5, the only nerf gun i could find or dart gun for that matter was a small green single shot with storage below it. I get nostalgia every time I look at a nerf gun.
6:00 Hey coop! There’s a Allen key inside of the grip! There’s a thing in the detachable grip, but you may have to pry it out. After that you have an easily accessible Allen key!
@@campbellwallace3774 especially how there are alternatives to some blasters, like the thumb screws fro the rapidstrike, stryfe, whatever, there will be some soon i hope so it would be more practical in a war
I generally run modified blasters in the 120-200 fps range for park games with my friends. We mostly use the retaliator platform with upgraded springs and internals. That kind of nerf (or dart tag, as we call it) is a lot of fun to play, but not as many people are as willing to take it up as opposed to stock class dart tag which is much more accessible and still just as fun to play. To me, it’s a matter of preference. I don’t mind either way. The Phoenix might fit into our local blaster ecosystem if people are willing to deal with lipos, however almost all of us are running springers due to their ease of use and accessibility.
@@alexip-l6399 wow that's quite surprising I guess it's because there made of foam but still pellet guns shoot around that hard and kill small animals but I guess if you wear the right gear it's fine. It sounds like a lot of fun and I imagine you would get much better accuracy shooting at those speeds.
can someone explain this meme to me? I literally just went on a 15 min google rabbit hole trying to understand the reference after hearing him say it for the 7685734th time only to come out empty handed in the end anyway lol
Hey Coop, have you thought about reviewing the XC Foam Knight? It's a blaster that can fling half length, full length, Rival, and Mega rounds by swapping out the barrels and mag wells. I think it would be a very interesting blaster for you to get your hands on.
Coop needs to host a Masterclass on how to do reviews. Methodology, efficiency, thoroughness, both objective and personal angles. Nobody does reviews of any product better than Coop.
Blasters that takes full length darts( at least for the modding and 3D printing community) are getting rare, sure there are some but half dart will be and always be the fulture of higher performance blasters. Unfortunately my game’s fps cap only goes up to 140 fps usually
Even through half lenght dart blasters are really good performing I still think there will always be a market for full darts since finding those half darts on grass is a nightmare
Half length darts are meta and have been for years. While some Nerf blasters that are still competitively viable and available still use them, (Stryfe and Rapidstrike) they can't compete with performance built half length darts
Hi coop. I'm 20 and play 140-180FPS super stock with my friends so this blaster is perfectly in my power range. Might cop it as a secondary as you say with a long springer as primary
My play style is predominately for manhunt style games, which often span good distances trying to hit (unarmed) moving targets outdoors. Many of the players have entered the mod scene to get a leg up on the competition, but I myself rarely have the time to actually take apart and mod my blasters. I LOVE these newer blasters with increased firepower, and can actually compete at the same level without spending hours modifying the classic stock builds. I love your reviews, they're super useful for finding exactly what I'm looking for.
Always glad to watch Coop’s reviews. It’s feel relaxing and he states all the facts. No need for us to watch multiple reviews from many RU-vidrs in case someone miss something out. Hope you continue to provide us with all the excellent reviews. P.S. I got into the hobby many years ago after watching Coop’s video.
I like high fps blasters, not for competition, (sry misspell) but for range shooting! And even if i dont want to purchase a blaster it is still super entertaining to watch your reviews!
Franklin must be reviving his old schedule back and I love it! I'm a little surprised that Nerf didn't have an infringement because Worker stole the name of the Elite 2.0 Phoenix🤣
I bought the phoenix 2.0 with the fire select module. It has become one of my favorites. Fps is a little low, but for a secondary, as you say, it makes sense.
I can already see something compact like this being perfect for indoor games, as long as everyone's wearing good padding if the FPS is really high. Edit: Holy cow it is.
I play that kind of nerf! And while this might be a bit costy for me at present due to other expensive hobbies, I'm glad gear like this is showing up in the hobby.
I honestly didn't play nerf for almost 7 years, I'm 17 now, and I still watch every video of you and everytime Im just like: damn that's cool, i should buy that
My local clubs are a mix of HvZ and standard nerf. The HvZ shoots in the 100fps range, though half length darts are starting to see use due to the carry capacity benefits. The standard games have a 175-200fps cap, and a lot more (about 50%) are using half length darts.
i would like to see more hobby grade blasters on your channel, its how we can push the limits of foam flinging, even within the consumer grade blasters (ex: half length darts being adopted by adventure force)
At this point I would only buy short dart blasters. I just wish we would see more short dart options in the lower FPS ranges. Cubicle wars are still a thing and you need something that tops out around 100 FPS at those short ranges because accidentally hitting someone in the face is probably going to happen.
you should get the seletch fire module, it includes breaking of the flywheels, select fire 2,3,4,5,6 etc round burst, a faster full auto, also you can even decrease the flywheel speeds, and there is also fingerprint lock, and even more! you should try it out
If they made something like the UMP, I would love to see rules broken in terms of the magazine, since the UMP mag is at a backwards angle. It's totally doable with this angled magazine, all you would have to change with the blaster is have the mag catch on the opposite side.
I’m not really a high fps guy. I usually aim for the 100-130 fps range. I think this could be very nice for HvZ if it was toned down (my plan is to get the Kuryaka Pulsar dual stage cage for it and just not put motors or flywheels in the second stage or just have a very low crush setup). I think it looks very interesting and is very compelling with that board that Worker recently put out
Currently playing adult games with 200 FPS indoor caps. One of our guys runs one of these and it's deadly. Lots of 3S expanded hopper flywheel rivals that shoot 130+ without curving though, so it's pretty fair. On top of that, we have everyone running Lynxes, Swifts, S100s, upgraded nexus's etc. Planning on 300 FPS cap once we're back outdoors, which will really let snipers differentiate themselves from autos
Something you should also be aware of there is an add on coming for this blaster where you install it and you have more adjustablity and bust fire options. You'll be able to change the speed of the flywheels the speed of the pusher and set a bust mode and have single fire mode as well as full auto
Honestly I'm really glad you made a disclaimer about the battery since im someone who's never owned one wouldnt have looked up anything about them so thanks
Great review! Just found this channel the other day, and am really enjoying it! My partner and I just picked up a few Nerf guns for her first time ever, and my first time in about 15 years. 😂 We own our home, so we chase each other around it with nerf guns occasionally. It's honestly such a blast. We're both almost 30 btw. Anybody who says Nerf guns are for kids are just missing out on the fun imo. 👌 We started with some 4 dollar Nerfs from the dollar store (was surprised, but they were real Nerfs) and then we discovered that local thrift stores are an amazing spot to find 30-50 dollar Nerfs for 3-5 dollars. Most work, but have no darts, and I love fixing stuff, and own a 3D printer, so even the ones that don't work are just a fun little challenge. Anyway, keep up the great work Coop, showing off these different and higher end nerf-style blaster is a great concept!
I already have one, and my opinion completely aligns with coop’s, besides the primary running. I’m tall, but not very big so it fits me as a fun primary. This has been the factor that’s been driving people I know to get into the higher fps blasters, so the more these get noticed the more people will play with them
If I could afford it, I'd be rocking out these half-length 100+ fps weapons every day, but since I provide for all of my friends and I'm not that rich, I use Dart Zone almost exclusively.
The "KNOBSS" bit got me good pretty good, not gonna lie. Great video, I'm gonna order mine sometime pretty soon and this video reassured me even more for when I make the purchase.
I have a nexus pro and a dart zone pro mk2. They’re really good for shooting pharmaceutical foam targets that you can set up. Honestly, I enjoy the half darts for target practice more than shooting other players
FINALLY! Was waiting to see you review this. I have all 3 colors. Love this blaster. Waiting for the English version of the mosfet that you can add to this for multiple burst fire modes and motor control. Thanks for the awesome review!
I have ordered one of these yesterday. Do I need one? No. Did I have a mighty want? Yes! I also have a mighty need for the add on board that has been reviewed around the 'tube. As per request a bit of foam flinging data: Indoor we run around 130FPS to 150FPS, with eyepro mandatory. Outdoors we run unrestricted FPS, but safety distances on high power blasters. Most of the crew I play with uses half length darts, though some still use full lengths. 98% of foam flinging wars here in Denmark is full length darts only though. So my group is an outlier.
I think with the increase in commercially available blaster shooting at the “pro” speeds, there could be a reasonable shift in the hobby towards these blasters.
My club has a 200 FPS cap. So I'll actually upgrade it once I've purchased one. Outofdarts has a nice dual stage pulsar cage for it. Still waiting on the select fire version to come out with an display in English.
My group plays in an elementary school gym and we're shooting anywhere from 130-180 fps. 3 years ago there were still a lot of full length darts, mostly from stryfes and rapidstrikes. These days it's almost all half darts and rival balls. Lot of nexus pros, caliburns, stryfes, a few higher end 3d printed blasters. I can't speak for any other group but 150 fps half length darts sounds like the new standard for most adult nerfers. I'm really looking forward to running my S200 and Wasp76 loadout this season.
It's a really cool platform. Just wish it didn't require a lipo. My ideal flywheeler would be something like this, but with a large battery tray like the dart zone pro mk3, and just 2 flywheels instead of 6.
My local group plays at a park and has a 150fps cap. All the Dart Zone, Worker and Adv. Force blasters that have come out has really opened up the game> You can also run the Phoenix on a smaller 2S LiPo and get ~120fps for lighter/indoor/HvZ games (so I hear...)
I don't nerf, but I love target shooting in my house/backyard. Having blasters that I can target shoot with that have effective ranges over 50 ft. is something I never imagined when I started buying them when I was still a kid.
i've actually dipped out of the nerf scene recently so i'm not flinging stock or modded foam i just enjoy your content so i'm still watching every vid lol
I just play indoors with friends or for target practice so above 100fps is hurtful and unecessary. On the other side, accuracy, quality and other improvements seems to come from other blaster's company (compared to nerf) and it seems like i can't find the right one to fit with my games.
I like the inclusion of the speed knob, but I was hoping that it was to make the blaster able to compete at the 150+ FPS class while being able to "tune down" to more factory-class settings when desired. I like flinging foam with the bros, but it's annoying to have to keep some nerf or buzzbee or other cheaper guns around simply because there's a church function with kids or the nieces and nephews are over for the weekend. Versatile platforms that can fill many needs at once will always be more valuable to me, whether that's versatility in ammo or versatility in application.
There is actually a Smart board available for the phoenix 2.0, it allows for control of the roof and muzzle velocity, as well as select fire and fully customizable pre sets
Ran this as my primary all last winter for my club's indoor games, just dominated, had one newcomer quit over it. Get a 2200 mAh Lipo, run all day no problem. Run it full speed, very easy to feather the trigger for semi auto. Do not waste your time on the computer upgrade, it just makes this blaster worse. Honestly this thing is a sleeper, has a lot of haters but I have had a blast with it and it absolutely slays.
Definitely hooking myself up with this as an smg for outside skirmishes. Thanks for the review! Also finally a blaster that I can get a hand of in australia, love these new worker ones.
Nice review, this gun looks like a beast. I have a nexus pro, its is so sick! I dont ever use it inside as it chips the paint off my walls and its fps is high enough to cause damage to property in your home. Yes ive used my nexus pro inside but after leaving dents in my walls after a totally unfair nerf gun fight i didnt use it inside anymore. Like for example if you accidentally shot your television with a blaster like this yould break your tv! I only use it outside but the people i play with do not have blasters that can fire over 80fps, so its totally unfair. I dont use the nexus pro too often. But it is cool to have. This blaster would be a perfect secondary to the nexus pro for high performance outdoor foam blaster games! Good vid Coop!!!
Great review but I have two small suggestions: Please add a small (~10 secs) section of the ergonomics overview to discuss ambidextrous use for us left handed users. It would be really useful, especially for new aftermarket flywheels, if you discussed rof numbers compared with other benchmarks such as the average NERF blasters and the best performing 3rd party blasters.
I own a Nerf arena business and I picking up some of these higher powered blasters to try them out. These are definitely for older Nerfers and I don’t think they should be mixed in with regular elite blasters, so I am having a hard time finding a place for them even though I like them alot
I really like shooting short darts at high FPS since my group only plays outdoors, but I just don't trust LiPo batteries. I'd absolutely buy one of these if there was an alkaline or rechargable NiMh battery option like there is with the Dart Zone Pro MK-3, but since the only batteries it can run off of are LiPos the Worker Phoenix 2.0 is a, "NO GO" for me.
To answer your inquiry, Most of my blasters are tuned to shoot in the 120-130 range, but I certainly do enjoy the reviews of the higher powered super stock class blasters
Sounds like the biggest issue (aside from the battery life) is easily fixed. Custom fabricated knobs attached to the allen bolts, would replace the need for the allen wrench
I have the original Worker Phoenix, which I love. I also converted my DZP MKIII and my Nexus to exclusively half-length darts. Additionally, I have the DZP MKII and I'm in the process of building a Stryfle that will be a short dart blaster. I'm going to get a Swift in the future.
I got one already, good blaster to play with. Also got the original phoenix as well, it has so much improved than the original one. Currently waiting for my Challenger mk3 to be arrived.
I’m the only one in my friend group with a 150FPS+ blaster. It’s a DZ Max Stryker, I even decked it out with real steel attachments and Worker mags lol
