Great review. I test played a number of trumpets in a shop last week including an 8335 Xeno, the latest Bobby Shew, a used Taylor, a 37 strad and a couple of Mauriats and the 8345 was the only instrument that I thought was a step up from an old Holton T602 (modelled on a Bach 43) I’m currently using. Great responsiveness and slotting to go along with a much richer tone than the ML versions. I’m seriously tempted.
Jonathan - thanks so much for your channel and great videos. I watched your earlier video about the generation III Chicago and New York model Yamahas. Just curious about whether you think it’s really worth the significant difference in price between this model and the generation III models.
Hi Stephen, it’s an excellent question as they say:). They are excellent instruments for sure and do have something extra to them that seems to work very very well in context, once you’ve learned how to manage them. Matthias Hoffs said to me recently, “easier isn’t always better”, and I would say that’s applicable to them.
