I have the original YZ-2 with laydown Tranny and while initially the forward bite was lacking compared to my B4.2 and my PRS1, I am a tinkerer of sorts and I added just one weight a the very rear with the shocks on the rear of the tower and my car is money! It jumps superbly and is always well balanced in the air, always landing near perfectly and so smoothly I can get on power immediately and it responds instantly. Mine has more forward bite than any DT versions of this car I've raced against. One mod I did was on the body toward the rear side pods where I took 2 pieces of lexan from my kids' Disney Infinity figures packaging and made little winglets that add considerable downforce at the very rear of the body and the bite that generates is phenomenal. I had a couple of local top level drivers run it and they laid down lap times that were faster than their B5's by a couple of seconds. The only weak point of the entire car are the ballcups. Change those out and the car is seemingly bulletproof! I have yet to break anything but I'm sure the ballcups popping off likely played a roll in that. Havint smacked anything hard since I changed them out but if and when I do I wont be surprised if something does break. The servo Horn is a pain. LOL Excellent review!
Good fair review. Durability is very good, issue mentioned about air bubbles in front arms was on yz-4, not this. I've never broken an arm or plastic part in over 1 year of running this chassis, racing 1-2 meetings a week. I do run the Alloy Yokomo servo horn though. Hexes are alloy in kit, not plastic as mentioned.
I've been running my YZ-2 on a small astro track here in Dallas. The car is beyond great on the high bite astro. There are a few things that I have found to be weak points, namely I've broken a few rear A-Arms. (Flat landing off jumps and it rips the shock screw out of the arm. I've since been running a longer screw and that helps. The shocks are as good if not better than any shock on the market once you throw the stock molded pistons away. I haven't had a chance to run it on clay yet, but I am able to carry a lot more corner speed with this car compared to my B5m FL.

My nearest LHS is 200 miles away, A Main is my LHS. Pretty cool I like the unique factor and my toolbox is my parts support anyhow. Don't like the fad of having to buy one car for indoor carpet and one for outdoor dirt season.
Surprised no mention of the lay-down trans... which would seem like the highlight of the design, and possibly what AE, Losi, etc... will do with their 1/10th buggies next. Great review and quality footage as usual.
Nice review. The dirt edition of this car will be very tempting. I was all in on the Xray, but every 5 minuets Xray removes specs or components that come with the dirt edition. I am also very curious on the D216, which I want to be good (they had the balls to do something different). I am thinking I will wait until next year and see how these (3) buggies shake out.

i have this car and i love it, its quality is only second to the xb2 that i have seen. I think these buggies are night and day better than the losi and AE kits as far as part quality and build ease and drivability
love all the reviews and I know the support is low for them but please can you have a look at a Schumacher car? I'm interested to see what you think. Chris
love the yokomo stuff I have a couple drift cars durable stuff what I like the most a bout their stuff its that you can tune and play with it tune to your driving I don't own a buggy im tlr but if I get one cheap enough ill defiantly will get it
Does it really come with a year diff? I'm about to buy one from amain, but the spec list says that it comes with a ball diff. I'm looking at the dirt setup, not the carpet.

***** lol i have the CE kit... i wouldnt say its a "rip off" but it is obvious they were just trying to get rid of stuff. I did a review of it myself, and i made a point to mention that.
