Reviewing 4 Online Comic Book Retailers to figure out which one is best!

Great video Bruce! I haven't ordered from these 4 shops but i have checked out some of their sites and i definitely agree with your review on the one i have looked at. Especially your review of TFAW was spot on with what i thought about the site. I look forward to seeing you do more videos like this!

If you preorder books through mcs you can piggyback shipping for back issue orders for free to save $. It might take longer to arrive, but I’ll take those savings where i can get it, I’m in no rush. Great video. Super informative and detailed.

I tried going into my comic shop website and was completely lost, I didn't see an FOC link, and with all the stuff they have was pretty overwhelming trying to figure stuff out for someone new to the website.

The shop I use is Things from another world. I just picked up last month comics this week but they’re always good.

I ordered from DCBS Discount Comic Book Service for years, but switched to mycomicshop for their piggyback shipping option, which let's you order from their back stock and include it in your monthly shipment. I save a lot on shipping doing that.

When I'm shopping for comics online I pretty much stick to Midtown Comics, Big Time Collectibles, Unknown Comics, and DCBS. They all have their pluses and minus, but ultimately it depends on what book you are buying and what your purpose is. If you want to buy multiple copies of a book for possible resale then DCBS and Midtown I have found are the best. If you are looking for ratio incentives you definitely want to hit up Big Time Collectibles and Unknown Comics.

Thanks for the video Bruce. I placed my first FOC order this month with MyComicShop (based on your recommendation in a previous video). I did only “pre-order” books to get them 35% off. It was difficult to predict what I wanted so far in advance (a lot of covers were not pictured on the site). Also, I elected to have them shipped 1-time per month-which was about $10 UPS. I am concerned that I ordered TPB at the same time and will not get the entire order shipped until the last book is released😬 which may mean March for books that release in January-caution🚨

39 -- loved the review …. My trouble with Mycomocshop is no FOC … what is the trick to ordering that far ahead … with u being such a cover lover I would imagine they may not have a lot of covers ready because that happens at time with the FOC which is 3 weeks ahead …. As for me I have had success with State of Comics (currently using); unknown comics used in the past … used Comics Elite in the past

I ONLY buy new comic books online. I like to support my FLCS but the books I get from them are always wrinkled/bent and they're at least 20% more expensive (even after accounting for shipping).

Can you have midtown ship one time per month on pre orders? I'd like to take advantage of that free shipping

I don't know anybody in the comic community that orders their new books online most people like to go to the comic shop and pick them out themself

I like G-Mart because I normally just sit it and forget it. But the site could be improved for sure. They are solid with their support and are pretty close to my sister in law so it seems more local to me. Also.... No one buys comics on line.

Golden Apple comics and KRS comics might be worth a review.

Mile High Comics has a huge online store. My negatives are overpriced books and the website is hard to navigate, not user friendly and hard to find books sometimes. Since most of their books are overprice you can usually find books that you can't find anywhere else. They do offer discounts with a discount code if you're on their email listing. But their customer service is awesome👈👈

One thing you should on is an app.

I used to order from TFAW but I started running into problems. They don't charge you until they ship the items and they don't notify you that your order is shipping and you will be charged. You just get charged without knowing the day and one time I got hit with an insufficient funds fee. If I was notified my books were shipping and I was going to be charged I could have just transferred the money in. TTAW also has quality problems with their shipping and when I stopped using them books were taking weeks and sometimes over a month to have your books shipped. I tried to be understanding because they said it had to do with Covid delays but I just didn't have those long delayed shipping problems with other online comic shops. Maybe they changed it but when I was using them you had to pay for bags and boards.They also won't refund any money for damaged comics if they aren't less than VF. You have to order a certain amount of books to get a box. I stopped using them over 2 years ago. Midtown is great, I have never had a problem with quality of comics or shipping and you can get free shipping like you said. Their website is easy to use. Their ratio variants are overpriced and generally at ratio or above. They offer a pre-order section but not FOC and if you go to order at FOC and search comics you will find many of them are already sold out. I find that many times they undergrade books. I have gotten comics listed as Fine that are really VF or NM. They also charge up front and you can use paypal which is helpful because if you order over $30 Paypal gives me the option to split it into a pay in 4 purchase. 4 payments with no interest. One payment every 2 weeks. It can be helpful for large orders. Generally I only use Midtown for their sales. They often run 60-75% off sales. I use a place called Comix Zone out of Syracuse NY for my pre-orders. Can get free shipping at $65, bags and boards are free. Most pre-orders are 20% off or more but new releases online are also 20% off. Ratios are fairly priced and they also take paypal. THey don't have an FOC section but you can search the books you want and pre-order them. I just use Previews Worlds site to see whats on FOC and then just search it on their website to pre-order.

I bet you probably forgot one TCGplayer has comic books cuz they're affiliated with eBay that means all comics are going 2 zero just like the car game is
