Another great topic for content. I’ve been a fan of Veja sneakers for a few seasons now and own a couple of pairs. I have styles similar to yours but could also probably go down a size as well since they feel a bit roomy. I do love the brand and the variety of styles they put out each season. I’m definitely planning on purchasing a pair of Repetto brand classic, black, ballet flats. I’ve been wearing a variety of other brands since college because they’re a staple for my wardrobe. I love them! But you’ve pretty much sold me on the brand for that whole French style, aesthetic & authenticity thing we all strive for!🥰
Yes I’m a huge fan of the Vejas. I never knew why some people said they were not comfortable until I tried a style that was insanely uncomfortable. I really like my repetto ballet flats. While I personally love the black patent leather ones, I think the black leather ones are very Audrey Hepburn-esque.
@@adrielfelise Exactly! Although I do like patent leather in general, I actually prefer the plain black leather ballet flats for the Audrey Hepburn AKA Beatnik era look, as well.😂☺️
I just received my Carel Kina in black patent and I ❤ them. I have feet that are a touch wide from a bunion but there is no pressure which tells me they are good quality leather. I can wear them all day and my feet do not hurt when I wear them or after I take them off at the end of the night. So worth the investment. Thank you for your review which gave me confidence to give them a try.
@@karmagrace2877 Ah Im so glad you’re loving your new shoes. And, I’m glad that they’re comfortable for you too. I think shoe reviews are so hard since everyone’s foot is different.
Summer is my favorite time for shoes as I can almost always find something cute, comfortable and open-toed. Closed-toed is always a problem for me. Ballet flats have too small of a toe box and are too flat. The Mary Jane style usually has a smaller toe box and the strap across the foot usually digs in and bothers me too. I lean toward loafers in cooler months. I often wonder if there are any shoe designers that really try to figure out what women want in their shoes. I want cute but comfort has to be paramount.
Hmm, have you heard of Jonak? I’ve always found their shoes to be comfortable. I feel like they make cute shoes but with enough room in toe box and good padding? I also think Mephisto aims to make a cute but comfortable shoe. I completely feel you though. Only in moving to Paris have I come to realize how uncomfortable most shoes are!! And if you’re feet aren’t the sample size, the shoes just become even worse. It’s ridiculous and kind of makes me want to be a shoe designer.
@@adrielfelise I haven't heard of Jonak. I'll check them out. Can't say I've seen Mephisto in awhile. Would love to have a one on one with a shoe designer. I have a list of issues that I think many women could relate to.
@@florbelaribeiro3992 Interesting!! Mine are definitely true to size, but I also have a size 36 foot which is usually the sample size. Maybe as they size the shoe up, things get a little wonky?!
@@adrielfelise I’m wondering if the Repetto’s are rubbing because they are too small, or alternatively, because you chose them in patent? According to the size chart on the Repetto website, a US6 (also my size 😊) equals a 36.5 in Italian sizing but a 37 in French sizing. I bought my Cendrillons years ago in black lamb skin and because my feet are wide I opted not to size down. The 37 was perfect for me and super comfortable- no rubbing at all. I also think the patent may be less comfortable than the lamb skin because it’s a stiffer material and doesn’t stretch as much. 😊
@@drinab3430 They’re not to small but I do think it has to do with the patent because my friends with the leather don’t have the same problem. When it comes to US sizing, I always sized all over the place depending upon the shoe brand. Sometimes I was a 5 and other times a 6. I know I’m not a true US size 6 because I briefly tried to have a career as the person who stands on the table and tries on the shoe as the designers discuss the fit and style etc. But in French sizes, I’m a consistent size 36 which is nice.
