I freakin love CDs so much, I used to have so many and I messed up by letting someone borrow them and they lost all of them, I think I had like 30 or so.... I wish I could go back in time and slap myself before handing them over LOL
I’m 22 so I remember using cds but half of my life has also been using streaming and honestly going back to CDs has been so much fun. Just sitting and vibing w the whole album actually enjoying the music. My cd collection is growing
Cool vid Emma!... You know, actually you DO have a CD player if you have either a CD/DVD drive on your computer &/or if you have either a DVD &/or a Blu-Ray player in your home theater/living room/bedroom stereo system... not to mention possibly your car radio might play CD's also?... Anyway, I totally understand your "mems & feels" from all of those CDs, as I have almost every one of those albums myself in my CD collection also... and many more, as I now have well over 10K CDs... I stopped counting after that point... I probably would've gotten you into EDM even sooner than you did yourself if I had known you back then, because there was a ton of really great electronic & techno albums and artists coming out around that time too, like Tricky, Hooverphonic, Mono, Massive Attack, Goldfrapp, Sneaker Pimps, Josh Wink, Electric Skychurch, Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, Crystal Method, Prodigy, Robert Miles, Paul Van Dyk, etc., etc... The list goes on and on and on, almost forever! I worked at a CD store during that time for a few years, so I bought literally everything that came out that was cool sounding to me because we got a significant discount off of new AND used CDs that came in, and I have VERY broad musical tastes, so my collection exploded during those years!... I rly hope I can (sooner or later) find a girlfriend to reminisce with about all of the awesome music over the years! That would be SO MUCH FUN to do with someone else! :) One thing's for sure; I'm never gonna be giving up my CD collection because I have at least hundreds of awesome albums that are now totally out of print and unavailable, plus CDs still sound better than any MP3 downloads do, due to the compression put into MP3 streams, so until true *Hi-Res* streaming of literally *anything and everything that was ever released musically* is available for *free to everyone* with an internet connection, I will always keep my CD collection! It's actually still growing today, because many things I like that are continually coming out each week, are still not available in any *better sounding* format!
I’m a 2000s baby (born in 2000), but I do know a couple of the albums you showed, such as Justin Timberlake’s Justified, Britney Spears’ albums, Kelly Clarkson’s Breakaway, Maroon 5’s Songs about Jane and some Now! Albums 😁
Awesome video! I’m only a couple years older so I remember all that music. Pink and Gwen stefani were a couple of my favorites that you mentioned. Now Halsey is filing that void. Love you!
Oh my LAWD so many of these. Black and Blue was a gift from my 8th grade boyfriend LOL. Also, Boys Like Girls, AFI-- so fab. Eden's crush?! I forgot about them lol. This took me back! Thanks for sharing :)
I had that BBMak CD. Pretty sure they were signed to Disney's label and actually guest starred on Even Stevens if you have Disney+ its a great episode lol
i have my old favs in my apple library now since i lost most of the cds & dude i bought jibbs album solely for chain hang low LMAOOO ofcourse i still have that cd but not the ones i want 😂
I love the video :) You should consider getting Blackout by Britney Spears since it's a pop and also known as the bible of pop by many artists. Also, this album got into Rock and Roll museum in 2012 since it's considered one of the best albums. Anyways like the video :)
after so many years I finally got to see Backstreet Boys (8-3-19), Christina Aguilera (5-31-19), JLO (6-8-19) & the legend herself Britney (6-20-11) & (6-29-16) in concert!
Great collection but here are a few corrections!! The Christina album with just the inner sleeve was Stripped. BBMak were a British boy band (Westlife & Boyzone were the Irish ones). Backstreets Back was the sophomore album by Backstreet Boys, their debut album was self-titled and had I'll Never Break Your Heart, Quit Playing Games & We've Got It Gon' On.
Hi, i am adding something here. I think she's from the US (?) Or has the US CD, so in that term, she's right that it's their first CD there since in the US vers, it has Backstreet Boys and Backstreet's Back combined.. (But they used the cover picture for Backstreet's Back, so i get why some people are confused). For the Backstreet's Back CD, there's usually a text below the Backstreet Boys text that said "Backstreet's Back".
The peak year for record sales was 2001. Since then, record sales have been steadily but certainly declining. During this year 2021, for the first time since 2001, record sales have turned slightly upwards, so it may be that record sales might still experience some renaissance.
Hi there Emma!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I already love your content!!!!!!!!! I'm a music fan too. I also collect physical media as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To this day I'm still a fan of female music artists such as Jennifer Lopez aka J.Lo, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Mariah Carey. Do you have any Mariah Carey or Destiny's Child or even Kelly Rowland CDs?
I'm born in 2006, but i know most of these albums since i'm a 80-90s music enthusiast ❤️ absolutely love your collection !! I love collecting CDs as well and i love a lot of musicians back then. Backstreet Boys has got to be my favourite boyband, but Boyzone are up there 🫶 NICK CARTER is my favourite member omg, like he's so cool man istg and omg they're so iconic
