Beautiful decor in your apartment. Even though it’s a small apartment, and it does not appear cramped. You have done an amazing job with your choices. Thanks for the motivation and inspiration.
Thanks for the advice. I found her page already. and left her a msg. It won't be a bad Idea to be investing while working. So someone can get the house the dream for!!
Quartz is more durable, sustainable, beautiful, easy upkeep! I don't do marble anymore because it's not practical. Color is key, artwork with a pop of color would be great! Thanks for sharing!
I always enjoy the details you offer with your description of each item. Your home is so warm, chic and beautifully curated. I love every piece you selected.
It’s always worth investing in good staples that will last you for years. And there is NO limit to the amount one should spend on one’s bedroom! A good night’s sleep is beyond price! Re your coffee table; I have a marble fireplace and it’s true that it stains very easily (I didn’t install it, it was here when I moved in). Something I would advise anyone to be wary of.
Thank you for saying this!!! It is an investment! I'm always looking for the deals but definitely worth the money in the long run if the furniture is made to last. Wow, a marble fireplace sounds so dreamy.
My fireplace is indeed beautiful. This is an old building, so I don’t know how long it’s been here. It adds a touch of grandeur to a room that is little more than a corridor between the entrance and the kitchen! But I learned the hard way not to put wet cups or glasses on top of the fireplace - and especially not to spill a bottle of wine down it, as someone did on our housewarming party!!
8:00 Kirsten: "So this coffee table was about $599 from West Elm" cc: "So this coffee table was about $5.99 from West Elm" not me a month before buying furniture, realizing how expensive quality is
Lololol @ $5.99. I just noticed that! Ugh, this is my life, constantly contemplating whether or not home decor purchases are worth the expensive price tag.
You have such a beautiful style! I, too, love West Elm! Lol. I have quite a few pieces from home, though I was bummed that I couldn’t find a couch from them that I liked! So I just ordered one from Castlery. Hope they work out too! Fingers crossed!!!
@@kirsten-ashley how long did it take for the sofa to get less firm. I just received mine and it's beautiful but I'm really worry it will stay rock hard firm forever
@@nicyee1 Hi! I think after two months it definitely softened up. I was falling asleep on it after some time. I prefer a firmer sofa in the beginning because I find that the material holds up well over time.
You did a BEAUTIFUL job of decorating!!!Thank you sooo much for sharing all of the details of the pros and cons, as well as the prices. You mentioned some things I would have never thought of. Great job!
Kirsten you have great taste!! Now you just need a half eaten pear hanging in a basket in your kitchen. Lol. Hey, is your olive tree linkable? Is it one Arvin O suggested?
I'm searching for a quality couch that's low maintenance, comfortable to sit and sleep on, and relatively affordable and I think yours might be the one! So thank you for the review! P.S. I think the key to enjoying marble surfaces is sealing them regularly. :)
You need to use acetone to wipe away stains on marble! Just a tad on stains and marks that won’t wipe off easily will do just the trick I promise you !!
I love your apartment and decor! Do you mind letting me know what size bed you have? I'm moving into a studio with a similar layout and I can't decide between a full and queen.
Hi, ive heard the couch is firm. A lot of people have said it's uncomfortable to sit on after hours of use. What are your thoughts? Is it something you can sink in and relax?
Yes definitely more firm than not when you get it but still very comfortable! I feel that it kind of softened up over time actually and I loved how deep the seats were.
I love the tips but was hoping there would be a shot of the whole place vs only focusing on a section at a time. I went to your IG to see if there was a photo and didn’t see one. Am I missing something?
boy...you really like west elm! me too! :) You have put together a beautiful design for your apartment! Also, would you mind sharing where you purchased that large crystal rock on your nightstand?
Great video & decor. I saw your table from Castlery & I recently just heard of them. I read information about their 20% restocking fee, but I wonder, on the side of not returning an item did you have a good experience with them? Thanks in advance!
Yes! I've only purchased 1 item from them (my couch) but I really loved it. It held up so well - 2 years later and its still in mint condition and was pretty comfortable as well.
On the snags of your carpet...use a toothpick and poke it to the other side of the carpet and you won't be able to tell.. works for clothes that snags too. A tip my father gave me ...
Nice apartment. Next time you buy a marble table make sure you seal the marble with a product like Stonetech bullet proof sealer to protect it from getting stained. Yo can reapply every 6 months which is really easy. Hope that helps
Hi Kirsten a question on the buffet/media unit, have you found the marble west elm have used to scratch/stain easily? Seriously considering buying it, love from the UK xx
So the marble on the coffee table absolutely stains and scratches easily, but I haven't noticed that for the buffet but I assume it's because it's not used as much. I don't generally place cups or anything on the media unit so it's remained in pretty good shape and I love it!
