This was so helpful, thank you for putting this video together! I'm applying to UOttawa for the 2023 cycle and I am beyond excited, it is my dream school!
You're welcome! I'm glad that it was helpful. Ottawa is a great school. All the best. Feel free to reach out to me on instagram if you have any questions!
I forgot to mention that, I actually don't. I'm not really into research and didn't seek out any opportunities. I would say that generally, it is encouraged to get your "feet wet" with research just so you know what it's like but you don't NEED it to get into medical school. It'll provide you with experiences that you can share in your interviews. However, if you're planning on getting into a very competitive specialty, then I highly recommend you get involved with research early on! Feel free to ask more questions :)
@@thiagolusvarghimd Thank you for replying! I do have quite a few research experiences but my ECs are pretty lacking. I was a club-president and that's pretty much it. Would you recommend putting sports such as soccer in this section? I have quite a few different experiences in playing recreational soccer, but idk if that is too uniform and not really count as an EC
You have to check which courses are requirements for the schools you want to apply to. Some are necessary. You can self learn for the MCAT for sure. Might take a little longer, but with the internet, you can do it.
