The XC40 Recharge is my daily driver. We use to own a M3LR and given the choice I would always elect the Volvo. It is more comfortable and the interior cabin is more quiet with an overall lux feel to the drive. The Android Auto SoC trip estimator (GoM) is best in class IMHO. It does a great job of factoring in elevation changes and if I have the environment on/off. I also glamp in it on road trip. I have an air mattress I use with the back seats folded down. All in all, I feel it is a great EV and under represented in EV selections. If your goal is the most efficient EV, look elsewhere. If you are looking for a comfortable, fun to drive EV, it has to be at the top of any list. Thank you for the video. I enjoyed watching.
¡Excelente, Lorena! I like the XC40 Recharge Twin much more than I thought I would. This upgraded version has obviously added some nice features and functions. I'm not a fan of the battery hump down the middle of the car, and I don't like front-to-back cup holders. 150kW charging is good… but should be better to compete with other EVs that can charge from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes. I do like the cloth seats: they look plush and comfortable. I'm happy that the frunk is at least medium size. The hooks in the cargo lid is clever, as is the one in the glove box. I think to kick open the rear hatch you need darker shoes or… bigger feet? The ending shows that you really do have all your ducks in a row with these EV reviews. Hahaha! ¡Te lo felicito!
Wow the Plus package up in Canada is 8k bucks. A RWD XC40 plus package with a colour and those wheels is 72k. An AWD Model Y is 69-70k. I like this but it's smaller and a lot more expensive than the Model Y.
I have been leasing 2023 xc40 recharge ultimate twin for the past couple of weeks. Ride is smooth under 60mph. An odd/scary vibration starts at around 62 making the whole experience bad. My 2021 ICE xc40 was super sturdy.
I like the look of the XC-40 Recharge and was thinking of one for my wife, but wow the specs are terrible for the price compared to a Model Y. And with the transmission tunnel that may be the breaking point, time to look elsewhere.
The XC40 is a shared CMA ICE platform with C40 EV and Polestar 2 EV and is a few years old now. New models come in the next 18-months or so. Spec the Y out to be similar but is only premium compared to luxury Volvo.
I had the same reaction until I started really reading about Teslas and their issues. I rented a Model Y on a trip to Miami (highly recommend doing that to get a fee for it), and I have to say once I got over the initial wow of the electric acceleration, it wasn't a very good car (ride quality in particular wasn't great). Just my opinion.
8:09 Flat floor commentary is getting old and one-sided. The lucid air has models with Less battery range in order to provide more footwell space for the 3rd and 4th passengers. I hate the knee pointing up in the air position of most other EVs due to the rear bench being positioned with too low a Hip-Point to 1) 'create' headroom, 2) lowering the roofline for efficiency and 3) create a flat loading floor with the seats folded but comes with compromised / lack of seat bench recline.
