Thank you again Matt for providing the link to this great review. This watch is beautiful. I absolutely love the design. I also like the fact that the used Seagull movement is upgraded and regulated...brilliant. The travel case is one of the nicest I've seen too. Great value for money. Certainly a piece I will consider as I select my next dress watch. Thank you again my friend. Be well and take care 🙏👍
Matt, so glad you covered an automatic movement watch. As ever, you know I love that you cover brands I don't see covered elsewhere. This is a really decent example. I like their commitment to excellence with their regulation of the movements. I will certainly be taking a look at their range.
Hi Matt, well yet again another cool watch review. I got a Guanqin which is similar to some of their other styles ,open window set up plus like your review watch buttons on the side to change months and days. So it begs the question are they out of the same site? I got this watch from Gary at I like watches I was lucky enough for his monthly giveaway a great giveaway and many thanks to Gary. Great news for your AGT show will be looking forward to seeing your act, nice to see you back into your passion of pushing the limits of magic/escape. Chill enjoy your weekend catch up with you next Friday
Sorry it took me a while to reply to this message, been a crazy couple of weeks with AGT, press etc. Did you manage to see the act yet? I believe Guanqin and this watch me be produced in similar factories in China for sure. Would explain the similarities. Enjoy your weekend. Best, MJ
Btw meant to say earlier but got called away ...Great news about the Americas got talent gig btw mate .Must be really good to be doing your thing again .Will have to see how I can catch it here in Wales .
Thanks so much man and sorry it took me a while to respond, it's been a crazy few weeks. Did you see the act yet? If not you can RU-vid Matt Johnson AGT and watch it. Best, MJ
That dial! When date complications look like they are actually part of the design vs an afterthought - I'm TOTALLY down! This one looks brilliant! Excellent review - and can't wait to see the NAIL BITING performance!
I totally agree and sorry it took me a while to reply Norm. They did a great job with the dial on this and I LOVE the big date window. Did you get a chance to see my performance on AGT yet? Have a great weekend. Best, MJ
First of all iam very excited about ur performance in AGT! Iam sure u did amazing! Thinking to go there next year :) second this watch is very very nice, kinda looks like a patek from chime line, of course on a budget :) very beautyful and yes i agree, seagull movements are not the devil, those works pretty well actually!
Hey man, sorry for the late reply. It's been a crazy couple of weeks with AGT and all. Did you catch the act yet? It is on RU-vid, just search Matt Johnson AGT. This watch is a stunner! One of my favourite watches in my collection now :) A lot of watch for not a lot of money considering the build etc. You should totally do AGT next year man! Best, MJ
PBR was my go to Beer in New York. It was easy to get and and reasonably priced and I love it. The watch is a bit of a chunky monkey for a dress watch, but it is a stunner. Love the big date, very ALS homage like, which is no bad thing. If I hadn't recently bought a sunburst blue Citizen automatic dress watch think I'd be tempted. If they had it green... . Great watch and great review 👍
Thanks Chris :) How is the Citizen? Sounds really nice. You know I really do need to add a citizen to my collection and a Bulova, I have neither. Best, MJ
Love your videos even when I don’t particularly care for the watch. That says a lot! I watch lots of review channels but none others if I don’t like the watch! Keep it up!! And that is good news on the AGT!!! Cheers!!
Thanks so much Travis, that really means a lot to me and I really do appreciate the support :) If you didn't see me on AGT yet it aired already :) If you search Matt Johnson AGT you can see it. Have a great weekend my friend. Best, MJ
Do excited for you! If you haven’t seen Matt perform you’re missing out! He is one of my favorite performer in magic! Good luck brother and great review!
Awww thanks so much man :) Been a while since I have replied to my comments with all the business of the last few weeks. Always appreciate your support my friend. BTW, noticed you are doing some cool new things on your RU-vid channel. Keep grinding man! Have a great weekend. Best, MJ
Its definitely different. I do kind of like the calander idea. The color is not one i would select. But ots mechanical so woop... the charcoal is definitely my speed.
You know it's funny you mention the colour as when I was offered the watch for review I asked for the charcoal but they were out of stock. However, when I got the blue I fell in love with it. So nice up close and personal. Best, MJ
Gorgeous watch! I know you love it… It’s blue. Did you know they have a PBR coffee beer? I think I may have met you many years ago. Did you do card tricks at restaurants? From what I remember, we were amazed. I’m talking 20 or more years ago. Most importantly, congratulations on AGT. Please be careful! Best wishes. Jono
Hey Jono, I did used to do card tricks at restaurants when I first arrived in Vancouver about 23 years ago so that totally makes sense. Didn't have the beard or tattoos back then. Did you get to see my act on AGT yet? If not you can search Matt Johnson AGT on RU-vid and see it :) I had no idea PBR made coffee beer? Really? I don't think I would like it. I tried some Coffee Rum my wife bought me and wasn't a fan. Best, MJ
@@BeerandWatches Yep! I knew it! Small world. I haven’t watched it yet. Here’s why…I have a anxiety disorder. Since I kinda know you, it would trigger it really bad. I don’t want to sound like a wimp, but once I know you’re ok, I’m going to binge watch it. So know I’m cheering you on! Please be careful! Maybe one day we’ll meet again!
Hahahaha, it probably would ;) This one is staying with me though. It's so so nice, I absolutely love this one, probably one of my favourite watches in my collection now. Hope you are well man. Best, MJ
I didn't see a price for this beauty. Shame on you if you forgot. Very important to us watch geeks without large resources to know the price and actually be able to buy one..
Hmmmm shame on me if I did forget, you are correct. I always put prices in my videos so I would be very surprised if I didn't but if indeed I didn't my wrist is well and truly slapped (and rightly so). The price on this is $423 on their site and absolutely worth EVERY penny in my humble opinion. I actually picked one up for myself as I love it so much. One of my favourite watches in my collection. Hope that helps and sorry it took me so long to reply. Best, MJ
Hmmm...you said , well not the magic word but the truth for everyone these days. From hero to zero. But hey! That's the mystery of life I guess. By the way you accidentally made a mistake at the beginning when you pulled out the warranty card and said that it's 5 watches out of 50 produced worldwide when it's more like this was the 5th out of 50 watches worldwide. But anyways great watch and I believe that you get a lot of a watch for the money. By the way good luck with the show. I wonder what kind of a watch does an escape artist wear? Anyway. Enjoy the weekend and cheers mate.
Hey thanks man, sorry just replying to this now. I have a BIG collection of watches but on the day of filming the escape for AGT I wore a Ernst Benz ChronoLunar. You should google them, they make some pretty cool watches, a little on the expensive side but nice. Thanks for pointing out my mistake, sometimes with all the small details of a watch review I miss things lol Best, MJ
@@BeerandWatches wow! Man! These are some expensive pieces to wear. And especially for something like that thing you're doing. I sort of made of a little research over the internet and the cheapest I could find on Chrono 24 was around CAD$ 3500 and the most expensive little closer to CAD$ 5500.
They are real screws that can be rotated, but obviously they are there for aesthetical reasons since the straps are quick release, thus there's not a functional need for them.
