I am a cosmetologist wanting to learn barbering. Barbering is very different from how cosmetologists are taught to fade. Barbering is much more detailed and more like an art. I was wondering why barbers don't usually use Oster style clippers? Is it because that style doesn't have the half lever? Just wondering because metal clippers give a little different kind of cut.

Todays barber industry is saturated with clippers and many barbers tend to not stick with one clipper. Also barbers do use the half often

I actually used to use oster fast feeds back in the day but forgot why I stopped, but yeah when it comes to being detailed in a fade a clipper with a lever will always give you more control with fading. And as of latley I don’t feel oster has been in the barber industry as far as catering to barbers and keeping up with the industry needs. It’s more babyliss, wahl and andis and a bunch of other small brands

Ey brahs great vests I like that😅 I am interested of how did U learn cutting? In a school or just u've cut friends and each others hair at first with some pro barber's help? I am curious cause I started 4 months ago without any personal help. I'm trying to learn from youtube, some of my friends are trusted in me, they let me cut their hair. 😅But I guess I should start a school just the problem is barber teachers are teaches the students but the students has to practice As much As they can and I don't have lots of friends that I can cut but i'll do my best. Lol like it's trying to be those fasion statements where I seen girls and some femboys where like tactically gear in high value places in LA, another example are those old school detective arm pit gun holsters but instead of the actual holster coming with the straps they add square bulky compartments attached to the should straps. It's like a tactical look for civilians who never been around war.
