Yes! It's unfortunate, should have learned about these 44 years ago....made mine out of axe, flat beak on bottom, shaped up like birds beak, works great on all woods

My back wishes that I had known about these a lot sooner too! Thanks for watching! BGB

get a FISKAR pickaroon, they work great and don't fall a part.

Good review ! I couldn't imagine making firewood without my pickaroons(both short&long handle). It's a great backsaver, wish i found it 20 years ago... Thanx for sharing !

I have a Council Tools 36" 1.5# pickaroon and the Fiskars 28" pickaroon. Both are excellent. The Council Tools is American made and built like a tank, it excels at moving larger rounds and rolling larger stuff around. The Fiskars is light as a feather, yet still tough and well made, it is better at picking up split wood and stacking. I highly recommend them both.

I use my units every time I handle wood. I may have to check out the Council if the Friskars fails. Thanks for watching. BG

I've never owned a pickaroon. I'm 43 and have been cutting wood as long as I can remember. Explain to me why I need to suddenly purchase 2 of these because you say so.

My reasons are pretty simple: with a pickaroon, I don't have to bend over so I save my back, and at 59 years of age it saves me a lot of arthritic pain. I can load more wood without fatigue, and I can load the wood much faster. I realize that a younger man may not have the same issues I deal with, but the review is offered to help people consider other options. Like you, I cut wood for years and never heard of the thing. Once I heard, I tried. Once I tried, I liked. Since I liked, I offered a review. Thanks for watching. BGB
