Crockett & Jones and EON Productions released of a new style of boot, the Hamilton, in celebration of James Bond’s 60th anniversary, and we get to review them! We cover everything from packaging, look, fit, feel, and most of all...are they befitting of Bond?
A boot of the era, the Chelsea, was the only choice for C&J when they wanted to pay deference to Bond's 60th Anniversary. Crockett & Jones have been producing Chelsea boots for nearly a century, with one of the first illustrations appearing in 1925.
It wasn't until the early 1960s that 'Chelsea' appeared in its Stock Catalogue for wider wholesale purchase. 1962, the year that Dr. No was released, paved the way for one of the firms most successful style categories over the past 60 years....and now WE get to literally WALK in the footsteps of Bond...

When David is not running an advertising and marketing company, his hobby is The Bond Experience which is primarily a video blog where he discusses Bond experiences and the people and brands that help to create those experiences...
The mantra of living like Bond, one moment at a time emanates from a concept of experiencing the joy of collecting small moments in life that add up to amazing journeys and stories....whether it's through style, locations, literature, fitness, and the movies themselves the world of Bond is explored through its people and their stories.
Ultimately though, The Bond Experience channel is a celebration of the James Bond franchise and the many people that form a true community. Our core mission is to create a strong connection in the Bond community amongst all the fans, regardless of interest or demographic.

May I just say David, I love your videos! There is something so great about watching someone with the amount of love and passion that you have for this franchise. Keep up the good work!

£895 here in the UK. I'd say the standard and quality of the Northampton shoe makers as gone down in recent years. Still very good overall. This price point is too high for what you get. I'd estimate the shoe trees have added £300 to the rrp. Same with the Highbury C&J put out for No time to die. £475 without the same shoe trees. Shoe tree version was £300 extra as a limited edition.

I visit Crockett and Jones and Trickers regularly, bargains at the factory shop, there quality is top notch, others like Grenson and Loake have definitely gone downhill using Indian sourced leather which is hard

Love your work, David! This really is a beautiful pair of boots. But just quietly, coming from a former shoe maker, while the heels look and feel like they're made of wood they're actually layers of very stiff leather stuck together. Almost everyone thinks it's wood, but just an fyi for you 😉

@The Bond Experience stacked leather heels are better than wood. So this is actually a good thing too.

Great review David as usual I also have too many black C&J already. This is a hand grade calf leather so a step above the regular high quality models. It is so nice to be able to order from the web site and have delivery home, although the duty and taxes will add a bit to the price. There is no substitute for travelling to London and trying things on in person. To buy from the London store you might get a better fit and you could avoid the duties and taxes you would have to pay back home.

Lovely, I have a pair of dark brown Crockett & Jones Grasmere Derby's in a full grain leather with Dainite Sole, they look and feel top quality (They are heavy beasts too). The next on the radar are a pair of Skyfall specials, Islay Brogue Boots.

They are beautiful boots, David. However the $1250 price tag certainly gives pause, and that's not including the no doubt extra price for the shoe trees. You mentioned C&J sent them to you (aka gifted). My question is are they worth the cost, and will you be purchasing the black ones?

Another great video David I love your content - keeps me entertained for many an hour. These are great boots! I love C&J and have several pairs of shoes from their Birmingham, UK store in the city which I grew up in. For UK viewers check it out on Colmore Row - the service and knowledge is excellent, and they have heard of the Bond Experience too. Personally I prefer the Dainite or City Soles to leather but other than that, lovely! It is great that a UK company, with made in England products which is rare now, is producing Bond related products that don't seem like a crap cash in or overpriced tat with a 007 logo on. Nice that they have the Bond motif in a subtle, personal way. Dressing like Bond, one moment at a time, for oneself is a great experience.

Beautiful boots! What an elegant last. I love that the boots come with lasted shoe trees. The packaging is beautiful. You'll be getting so much wear out of these. However, I'm puzzled as to how they chose this style to celebrate the 60th Anniversary. Why not copy a style of shoe or boot that Sean Connery wore? Connery's shoes were so unique (at least by today's standards), and Crockett & Jones have some similar styles in their archives. And why the "Hamilton" name? Baines was the agent that Bond shared a bootmaker with, not Hamilton! I can't complain about the Hamilton boots themselves, though. They look exquisite. Just a small note, but the heel is all beautifully finished leather, no wood!

One question, when it comes to getting them resoled, will C&J be supplying the 007 logo ones??? What about the inner lining too. Because if not, suddenly they become just another Chelsea boot, albeit a C&J pair . Anyways, can't deny, they do look nice in tan.

Really nice shoes. Unfortunately my experience with Crockett & Jones is not so good, was very dissapointed with the Spectre Boots I bought in London, really bad quality for the price. My top leathershoe brand is J.M. Weston, Bond never wore them but they are the best in my view.

@ronpruitt3832
@ronpruitt3832 Год назад
@@michaelpoplawski2998 I have many pairs of Allen Edmonds shoes. I bought all of mine before Caleres bought the company. Their quality control seems to have gone down since then and their choice of new models sometimes isn’t the greatest. However, they did make great shoes. They made a chukka boot that is my absolute favorite casual shoe. I bought three pairs before they discontinued them, two in snuff suede and one in brown calf. I also have a pair of Allen Edmonds walnut Chelsea boots that look identical to these Crockett & Jones boots. Besides buying bespoke shoes, Allen Edmonds and Alden are the only companies in the US that I know of that make all of the widths of shoes. They make AAA, AA, A, B, C, D, E, EE, EEE, and EEEE widths. I have a narrow foot and wear a C width so that is good for me. All of the shoes I have bought from Allen Edmonds are Goodyear welted shoes which is a must for me. I also have a pair of Crockett & Jones Alex wholecuts which were rebranded as the James for the 60th anniversary.
