I never got notified of this video 🤔 great review though buddy. I had the same problem with the handle. Well not really a problem but I found after cranking it over and over again, the handle would come unscrewed and I’d have to screw it back on. Other than that though it worked great for me too. And much cheaper than an electric one. 👍🏻
Glad to see your face!!! Even if it's not casting/melting 😎 the only wire I've really had issues with were/are fine braided ones.... If you cut too deep those little pieces Suck to clean up 😵💫 and Really hurt if you find one with your bare feet 🤬🙄 !!! Sometimes I really wish copper was magnetic... 🤔😜
You should try contacting the manufacture www.vevor.com/manual-wire-stripping-machine-c_10768/vevor-wire-stripper-blades-4-replacement-blades-for-hxsms-26-stripping-machines-p_010974705636 I do not have that information.
It looks like you could get a job at a scrap yard if that gig proof reading manuals doesn't work out. I'd love to hear more about that bell foundry, it seems to be on your mind. Cheers from Alaska
They turned me down, said they had marketing people all over the world reading the manuals. Ok, I guess the spelling was intentional... but I'm not bitter, I'm not 😄
I've never understood why Chinese manufacturers can't or won't have their instruction manuals proofed and corrected for other markets. If you want to be a global player you need to think globally. However, I'm just a grumpy old man. What would I know?
I think VEVOR is a company like Harbor Freight. They repackage other manufacturers items under their name. I've seen welders, plasma cutters, 3d printers, etc with Vevor on them.
Yeah, I think this one came from a German outfit. Of course the Amazon page looks Chinese. You're right, they probably repackage other products as their own.
I think I have the second version, with the plastic handle. However, man this is a shit product. I tried stripping 2,5mm copper installation wire. No matter how I set it it keeps pushing it to the side. Only works if the cable is really straight. One wobble and and woop to the side.
Well, as you saw, I struggled with it too. It's basically just been laying in my garage since I reviewed it. I keep thinking of putting it up for sale to see if anyone would buy it.
I said the same thing. i thought this thing was wonderful at first....but just Wait until you need to change the blade and Let me know when you do. You change the blade once, with a new replacement blade from vevor, and it doesn't strip right ever again. I spent hours upon hours fidgeting with this thing and it doesn't strip more than a few inches before slipping off the tracks no matter how tight or how loose or how aligned up I have the blade. It seems to me it's just a cheap one time use chinese made product. Asking for a refund and getting the stripmeister instead.
Good to know. I haven't actually used it since the video was made. I'm glad you let me know. I don't know how many people actually go back and read comments but I'll leave yours up so others can see it.
@swdweeb thanks. I'm seeing a lot of reviews on this product but they're not reviewing after the blade change, which shows the actual quality of the product. If you watch the one of the Stripmeisters videos, they say this cheap vevor one will never be properly aligned again after blade change bc it comes out of the factory computer aligned, whereas the stripmeister snaps back into place and re aligns itself. I'm trying to get a refund from vevor but so far, nothing. Just gunna throw it in the trash.
@judy hirsh, I was given a second hand one of these, with no instructions, I totally dismantled it, took the blade off the bearings to sharpen it, true it took some fiddling to get it central, but it stripped beautifully after I did. I did make a modification to mine, so that the cable came out of a horizontally drilled setscrew almost under the blade this dramatically reduced the cable being able to slide up the side
bigstackD sent me your channel. I have a lot of videos to watch. Can't wait to see what I can learn from you to help get me started. Subscribed and hoping you're doing well!
Thanks for letting me know, I think half of my subs are the result of BigD sending people over. He's a good man. Don't hesitate to ask questions if you have them. I'm doing well and looking forward to getting back at it
@@swdweeb would you be willing to correspond through email? I went through almost all of your videos last night and have quite a few questions for you 😂
