Reviewing the Whole Genome Sequencing test from Dante Labs

After reviewing the Nebula Genomics and 23andMe tests, I got to review another test, a new one on the market 🧬. Dante Labs sent me the test free of charge, but I would probably get it anyways - I love comparing the tests and finding out their benefits!
In this video, I will take you through both, taking the samples, and results. Let me know if you have any questions 😊.

What’s the best DNA sequencing service overall you recommend for personal health and disease prevention?

this was a fun video to watch Eva. I did a DNA test for fun years ago with national geographic back in 2019. It was also fun to watch a product getting tested like this as well. I really liked how ya went in depth on the results sections of the test to.

Eva, how did you get your results from Dante? I've been waiting for 1+ year and have no results, no replies, no refund (like many others).

Dante are advertising a service they can’t provide. They have my sample (and money) for 4.5 months but sample has not even been quality checked yet. I had to re-order via Ancestry and results are currently being processed (after 2 weeks - results expected in 2-4 weeks)

Do you know which model of Tasso device this was (Tasso M-20 or another one)? Seems like it used liquid blood sample rather than a dried blood, right? Which country did you order the test from (as I think that makes a difference to what version of kit they provide).
@degenplanet
@degenplanet Год назад
Cool video, blood drawing is probably more accurate than saliva (less contaminants) like you said. I once tried a finger-prick blood test, can't say I was a big fan of it, hopefully this is less painful but still not easy on your mind to press that button when you need to. I think they sent you their normal test, they also have a new test with hifi sequencing (999 euros) as far as I know they're the only one company doing that for now. I don't know about their privacy policy but that looks better than some other companies sending to China yes. I'm thinking about doing one of theses tests (idk which company) but I'm careful with privacy and also the accuracy of the tests is constantly improving (maybe they would be more benefits doing it later with better tech? comment if someone has an opinion) and price going down and I don't want to do it ten times.

Well, there is actually a Novaseq X (That machine is crazy) coming this year to some bigger laboratories. So better tech definitely... As far as companies I kinda like Dantelabs, but you can also check Macromo. I don't recommend Nebula.

Very interesting video and very likeable speaker too! I'm going to receive their kit soon and hope promethease will be able to process the data, then I will run some python bioinformatics on everything. What a fascinating era we're living in!

@lambdasun4520
@lambdasun4520 9 месяцев назад
@@oneinabillionfun4284 well it could be a nice start to run some python or R code PCA's and clustering to create groups of various objects depending on what I want to do, and then to use biopython or other specific libraries to look for mutations, deletions, insertions, or other interesting features by comparing DNA with reference genomes or even ancient ones to check for environmental pressures at different stages...and this is just the beginning!

How long did it take to get the results back? I just sent my sample in. I also paid for a Nebule test and am still waiting for the results. It has been 9 months how! Had two samples failed QC. Not at all happy with Nebule.

@@evakuttichova How did you get them to test you with a blood sample ? There isnt any option on the website when ordering to do so.Also on which lab did you send it ? I live in Greece and Italy is the only good option for me di you send it there too ? Ive also heard there have been problems with getting and shipping samples back to companies because the EU has a new rule to not allow DNA samples from people to move through airports and such,is that true ?

The unfortunate fact about this review is that you didn't do your homework Eva. They gave you your free analysis to do a review. Sequencing only! This product is the cheapest whole genome sequencing on the market. They have a package assessing your disease carriage status and traits, which I was hoping you would review, but you have to pay for that extra. You failed to research how their product works. Maybe you could inquire about that? They might be able to provide you with this extra service for free to let you make another review. Maybe.

If the data is able to be obtained from the sample then buccal is great. Way way higher sample failure rate.

@@KhaavrenKat FTLOG, this is DTC for people to say if they have a higher chance of choking on quinoa when they are over 80. Plenty of actual diagnostics are performed with buccal swap. Imagine doing that sample collection with a 4year old. For DTC the level of entry needs to be low. Seeing this video just scares the hell out of people. That's not how we get genomics to the masses.
