thanks so much for reviewing the sand sharks! i'm glad i waited before submitting more cards because i'm almost certain some of my submissions will benefit from your PSCT and formatting tips! i also completely agree with the change to triple tiger's last effect, i'd definitely restrict it to Fish-only monsters (as a complement to the fact that its materials specify non-WATER monsters), as well as feroxious' effect being kind of on the strong side; i went back on forth on it for a while, 'cause on the one hand it is a strong effect, but on the other hand it provides in-archetype continuity haha as for taurus and bigeye's searches, yeah, i wasn't fully sure how to word them since it's not something Konami has done, but i felt pretty confident about what i was including in those search parameters at least since they're fairly strict (i.e. i was able to actually look at all of the cards that were searchable by their effects in a timely manner. i can't imagine doing it for a more populous monster type like Warrior, lmao) just as some background to anyone who happens to be reading: the sand sharks are designed to be an advantage engine for non-WATER Fish monsters, with the caveat that there are - at least as of right now - less than 10 of those. this means that even with how deliberately spammable the level 4s are (1 L4 sand shark in hand represents 3 bodies on board without a normal summon!), the fact that you're locked into only special summoning non-WATER Fish monsters means there's few options available to you once you have all those sharks on the field. while triple tiger and the non-archetypal Shark Fortress are cool bosses to end on, they're also not like amazingly strong by any means (there are no sand shark lines that can end in a negate, for example, which is why the archetype tries to make up for it with its spin effects and synergy with existing non-WATER Fish that provide destruction effects like Fish Depth Charge and Golden Flying Fish). i also tried to deliberately avoid any synergy with existing Fish support that focuses on banishing, as there's already a fair bit of that and it's more of a Ghoti-archetype thing anyway, which is why there's a focus on tributing and XYZ plays. it's also why i didn't include a Tuner in the archetype, despite Fish Lamp being a non-WATER Fish

Thanks for submitting! Definitely a fun archetype and yeah with cards like Union Controller, I'm sure Konami will eventually open the door to "mentions TYPE monster".

leaving this as a separate comment since it's unrelated and the other one was super long lmao. i think having the card on the right and the text on the left works really well. looking back at episode 2 it strikes me as odd now that when the card image is up there's just all this blank space to the left, so i think this is a good way to utilise it. also, i think it would be a good idea in the intro to briefly flash up the rating system as it appeared in episode 2. you don't have to explain the whole rating system again, but including a line like "today we'll be looking the X, Y, and Z archetypes, and giving them a rating from 1 to 10 for their design, creativity, and balance" in the intro and displaying the numbers with what they mean beside them like in episode 2 would be a good way to have a quick reminder of what the ratings actually represent

"I don't know how big of a downside skipping your next turn is". Well, it's already getting skipped like 5 times per turn and the deck is insanely reliant on a trap that skips your next turn. So, I'd say it's just your average lock. I see your point with Framtio's protection, especially since I could just give the protection effect to a Synchro or Xyz. I chose to give it to the Xyz, and it protects 1 Spell/Trap until your next turn (so basically forever xd) For the link-4, I didn't want the bounce to just be better than the pop (since bouncing is usually better), but I forgot I could make a targeting bounce. I do need to test the deck more, because Plasma getting you a BP functionally before your opponent's BP is a bit absurd, but the effect is lengthy. Maybe I should make it so you have to wait for your opponent to attack in order to attack again (unless they got no monsters left). Haste should, in fact, only be activatable once per turn, getting 2 of them up is absurd. The pretty insane draw power of the deck started as a way to offset the lack of draw phase. I made Short Circuit in a way that you can run it in a Thunder Link deck, but it's better in its own deck due to activating from hand. The mirror match is beyond funky. The deck can't do much on your own turn, so the opponent doesn't get lots of counters so they don't do much either. Also, the deck cannot start running 20 handtraps because you need a good density of archetypal cards to make Future work. Traogedia is something to consider to not die to Avram beatdown lol. An other obvious weakness is backrow removal, but it's not that bad given stun manages to exist. And the design idea was taking the "our turn" meme of the Tear format and cranking it up to 11.

I assumed the turn skips overlap a la Reckless Greed. The biggest things the deck gives up is its Normal Summon and the ability to leverage non-archetype cards that would otherwise be dead in hand. So on paper I think it's a fair tradeoff, but given the extreme of it, I couldn't say for certain without testing it. Bouncing certainly has its advantages over destruction, but there are drawbacks too. I think the bigger thing for me was the potential of destroying 4 cards in one go. Potential workaround could be that you can't pick the same effect twice. Overall it's very impressive and glad you submitted it!

@@customcardguy Yes, the choice for engine cards is pretty limited. Also, Some Summer Summoner is really good in the deck.

Oh snap! It's been a hot minute, since you showed up in my recommends (which I just now gave you a follow to keep up with your stuff). But I didn't know you do custom card reviews, so maybe i should consider dropping a few of mine sometime! But quick question, do the custom cards have to be an archetype, or can it be legacy support of an already existing archetype?

check the form! you can submit whole new archetypes, support for an existing archetype, one-off cards, joke cards; basically anything!

Actually, how about you choose which one i should submit, as I have two I made recently! • A custom archetype (that has more than 10 cards, so I'll have to cut a few, but all of the cards are from Cardfight Vanguard) that centers a main leader to power them up, OR, • Legacy support for a certain Duelist from Battle City!

Thank you for subscribing! Yep as banana said, submissions are open to pretty much anything. If you have legacy support, that could fall under "archetype" or "single card" (single doesn't necessarily mean 1, if you have 2-3 that's fine too). I'll leave it to your discretion.

Thank you for reviewing my Kingdom Hearts Archetype! With help from the brilliant folks in the Patreon Discord I have already made changes to some of these cards but I'll go ahead and implement some of the changes you've suggested. I tried to stay as close to the lore of the games as possible and have possibly made the cards too powerful as a result hehe Would it be possible to submit more of the Sub-archetypes? Or would that be breaking the more than 10 cards rule?

Thank you for submitting! You're certainly welcome to submit another group of 10. Just note that I won't review the same person's subsequent submissions until 4 months have passed from the last one (so in this case, by January your next submission would be "live"). This is put in place so different people can be featured.

I know I made a submission before but I’m not sure quite if it fulfilled every criteria is there a way I could edit it?

Yes you should be able to! I believe the form emails you your completed version, so if you received that, you can edit from there. Perhaps revisiting the form may also give you the option to do so. Just note in the description box that you have edited it and what date you edited it.

if i submitted some cards and I changed the text of one of the cards, am i able to edit the form?

I've enabled response editing so you should be able to now. Just mention at the top of the "Details or explanations you'd like to include for context" box something like "EDITED on DATE" (and put the date you edited it) As for accessing your previous submission, I have it enabled that you get a copy of your form submission when you first submitted it, so let me know if you can't find it

There isn’t a way to edit the form for me. The email confirmation didn’t have it. So if I changed the text of some cards, will you use the dueling book pictures?

Hmm that's odd. Yeah as long as the cards are updated in duelingbook, they should be reflected in the link you included. But you can also resubmit just in case
