Watched this today and really enjoyed it. Lucy is adorable. I like everything you did and I really like the print you pulled at 15:43 for its movement and colors. I learned a lot, thank you so much.
I watched this last year. I remember your beautiful puppy…..and the inch worm. These are beautiful prints. Your work and technique are right on. Hugs ❤️❤️❤️
Oh my Gosh thankyou. Wonderful video. I love Nature walks. I don't have a pet but I pretend to. Love Art creative things. Appreciate flowers nature. Your info about reasons for doing things. Wow. God bless You
LOVED this tutorial! I have had a jelly plate for well over a year and never used it, but seeing the beautiful botanical prints you pulled, I think it is time to finally get it out and use it! Thanks for sharing your ideas. Just beautiful! Blessings.
What gorgeous prints! I can’t believe I’ve never thought of adding some die cut creatures into the prints 🤦♀️ It seems so obvious lol. And looks amazing! I love a lot of your colour combos too. Makes for very interesting prints. Thank you for sharing this video 😁
Thanks so much! I also have a video where I use plants/weeds with some sea themed die cuts and masks to make an underwater scene if you are interested 💙🐙
First time seeing you. Definitely not last, lol. Subscribed, clicked on thumbs up, saved, & shared! I'm very impressed with your work & intend to copy this technique. Going to use my Big Shot to cut some insects, plus some butterflies. Tfs!!!
you should try placing your (dragonfly) stencils on two levels - ie. one under plants and second on top of ...will view as flying in front and behind the plant/foliage > depth
This is such an amazing vid I love the idea of bringing in the nature around us to create beautiful works of art Over and Over again you offer good clear explanations . Thank you for sharing your ideas and wonderful talent
I was sitting here doing some Gelli prints so I just put Gelli printing into the search bar to have someone to watch while I paint and I am so happy I did! I LOVE the method you are using in this video. Now I want to go get some nature out of my yard and try the same thing. Thank you so much for the inspiration! I think I even have that same Dragonfly die! Oh and the idea of using the jar lid is also amazing. Thank you so much. I loved and subscribed.
these are fantastic ! love your color mix...your brave ! you have inspired me to be brave too ! best video i have seen in a while. thanks so much :) hugs keep well
Oh wow!!! Huge thanks Malia for giving us the link to your youtube channel on Shelley’s latest live crafting vid! I love your work - this vid is especially awesome. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you so much for checking out my videos (I also thank Malia for posting my link) and I am so glad you are enjoying them.😄I too have found lots of creators to follow while in different chats and enjoy being part of this creative community.💙
I'm a very earthy kinda gal so this vid title caught my eye. Funny, yesterday I bought dragonfly and bee die cuts and this video used them! It must be fate! I love the effects of the black or indigo first pulls and ghost prints then the golds and bronzy color backgrounds. I am going to use some pressed plants that I did last fall specifically for this purpose and use my dies and your color schemes and I know I will love it!!! Thanks, I'm a new sub! Later EDIT--- BTW, I have coated my pressed plant material with Gloss Gel Medium, otherwise the dried material would be a crumbly mess to be scraped off the gel plate!!! Should anyone want to try this, please use fresh or coat your dry material with a nice medium that will leave your dry material flexible enough to remove easily from your plate!!!
I am so glad you found this video just at the right time for you. Great tip about coating dried plant material with gloss gel medium 👍 Have fun gelliplating with the combo of die cuts and plant material. 😄Thanks for subbing 💙
How are these 'faux' botanical prints when you are really using plants? To me these are botanical prints... nothing fake about them! And they are so lovely
Thank you very much! The die cuts are from some older Stampin Up sets but I believe they are discontinued. Dragon flies and smaller bee were called “Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dues” 142749. The big bee is from “ Detailed Bee Dies” 151526. The butterfly (not sure if I used the butterfly in this video) is called “Bold Butterfly Framelits Dies” 138135. You may be able to find them on Amazon but you need a cutting machine like The Bigshot by Sissix. I am sure there are alternative ways to get die cuts. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for watching, I a, so glad you enjoyed it. Some of the things I used to create pattern were textured fun foam and plastic needlework canvas both available at Michaels. I also found a flower shaped fly swatter at a dollar store. I oftern use placemats from the dollar store and have some earlier videos about using inexpensive items on the gelliplate if you would like more ideas. 😄 Have fun gelliprintng!
Thank you very much! I use most of them in my art journals and mixed media. Some of them I will display. I have sent some to friends. They can also make nice gifts if you glue them to a cover of a notebook. I hope you try it and have fun! Thanks for watching 😄
How dry should the imprint of the textures be before you add more paint. Every time I try this the textures of the plants do not come through. Please advise. Thanks.
@@devonrex4 ah how funny, at the time you were writing this I actually was making biscuits 🍪 ( chocolate and hazelnut ) !! My friend has made me some die cuts so I just need to pick them up now.
Any type of acrylic paint should work well. For example, I find Liquitex Basics are a good paint to learn with because they are not too thick or thin. 💖 Let me know how it goes. Have fun!
Thank you! The circular piece is a plastic canvas used for needle crafts. I found mine at Michaels’ but you can easily find them on Amazon. While checking that I noticed that they do come in a variety of shapes. I might need to get more 😄 Thank you for your question.

I let them dry fully. Definitely a few minutes but cannot say a specific time though because it depends on the paints, the heat and humidity where you live and how thick the layer is. I will lightly touch the corner with my finger and if nothing comes up it is most likely dry. I hope this helps 💙 Thanks for watching!
Just for practice and fun! Sometimes I will add more to turn it into a proper journal page or scan it (or photograph it) and use it in another project. It was just something I felt like doing at the time. I don’t plan to do another whole composition book of gelliprints at this time but time will tell. Thanks for watching 😄
@@devonrex4 thanks for responding…hadn’t thought about photographing to use in another project! Would love to see how you expand this comp book into a journal! Love you video!❤️
Do you mean the butterflies and such? They’re die cuts from Stampin up but I think they are discontinued. You can get some nice butterfly, bee and dragonfly (and other) masked from @P.M. Artist Studio . I will put a link to their shop in the description (check back in a few minutes)
@@irenenelson9570 My pleasure. Thanks for watching. I have done some "underwater" gelliprints using P.M.Artist Studio jellyfish masks more recently if you want to check that out. 😄
Thank you! I use the metal dies ahead of time to cute out the shapes from card stock paper. The paper cut outs (die cuts) just lay down flat similar to using a stencil on your gelli plate but just smaller. I have used thicker plastic items and even wood shapes on my gelli plate without damaging it (as long as you don’t place a sharp edge down and if you lift it up carefully). I hope this answers your question. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much! I am glad you enjoyed it. I think you are asking about the Plastic Canvas Mesh Sheets for Embroidery Crafting. I believe I got mine from Michaels but I see they are available on Amazon as well. Have fun! Thanks for watching! 😄
Ok cool thank you I will have to check out Michael's then. I just thought the round one especially made such a great subtle background texture. There's a Michael's just a couple miles down the road from me so I'm definitely going to be going there today, thanks again!
I use them for art journaling mostly. But you could frame them or use them to make cards. Sometimes I will send to friends as gifts for them to use in their art journals. Thanks for watching 😀

No it was in the morning and not very hot. Don’t worry, I gave her lots of breaks in the shade and water. We were only out for 20 min. She is older and very fluffy but she is very happy and loves her walks.
why are people grossed out by wild life , he was happily living his best life before you came along ! I hope you didn’t kill him , and just popped him back into the garden .
