Revisiting... Forza Horizon 2 (Xbox 360 Version)

The Horizon 2 intro was so cool and emotional the first time I played the demo. “Hey, you survived”! What do ya think, perfect mixture of music and machines, right? “ It was a long time in the making, but it was totally worth it”. “Uhhh tomorrow we’re gonna get fresh cars, then we’re off on our first road trip, but a tonight… Welcome to Horizon!”

I saw the video title and started smiling. What an amazing game, and thanks for all the nostalgia Nick. PS Nick still can’t penetrate

This is where the nostalgia kicks in. Ive had this game on my xbox 360 slim since i was 6.

I got both versions! And the one thing thats really cool on the 360 version is that the clock in a few cars is actually working! In the Acura Integra Type R for example 😊 So when the clock is 20.00 you will see that its dark in the game as well. It was a nice feature 👌😂

I grew up with the 360 version of Fh2. I absolutley loved it! I have played the Xbox one version of Fh2 but I didn't remeber the grafical difference to be so big.

For a little clarification, FH2 on the 360 didn’t have as many graphical issues as in the video, some of the issues are because of the emulator. However it still wasn’t great 😂

i remember the good old days of playing this, i always loved this game and didnt really know about the xbox one version, i always thought that the graphics is a mod or smth

God damn I loved FH2 for the XBone, I remember seeing the graphics for the first time, how amazed I was. I distinctly remember there was this developer interview and the background footage showed a Ferrari driving through a city at night, in the rain, seeing how the lights bounced off the car, the world reflected in the droplets… it blew my fucking mind. I still think it’s the best looking FH game, the colours are just so pleasing to the eyes

i have the xbox one of this game, i mean it has less cars, no houses, less graphics, but holds a place in my heart. i think it has the best scenery in any forza game, has a great storyline and progression system, and just in my opinion, seems better then FH5.

The Xbox 360 port solely exists for the purpose of making the Xbox One version look more impressive.

this game is so nostalgic for me i had an xbox 360 when i was like 6 and when i was 8 i bought this game accidentally, one of the best mistakes ever i got so much out of it i did the money glitch that gave you 999,999,999 cr. it’s such a special game and it’s what got me into the games and cars themselves. have gotten every for a game since.

I don't remember there being holes in the map and graphics glitches when I played it on xbox 360 but it was still essentially Forza Horizon 1.5, which is why I kept playing Horizon 1 instead

THIS! Back in the day when I had no money to buy a Xone I was soooo hyped to finally be able to buy this game on the 360. I was like 14 at the time (22 now) and it was one of the best feelings ever.

I wanted FH3 in 2016 but my dad saw the price tag and got me this, my second racing game… I was amazing too me and loved it. Though I always have thought FM4 was better

i remember the game was good on the xbox 360 and it wasnt that bad like now on the pc version and it got no issues or holes in the map but some glitches were there

oh no i'm shocked, the last gen version of the game doesn't look the same as the Xbox One version, almost like it has less compute power to work with or something

This was the was the 4th forza game I ever played I played Motorsport 3,4,7 and,FH2 and I play FH5 now

Sadly I will never play Horizon 2 again. One day I started the game with no internet access and restarted from the beginning.. when I reconnected I accidentally clicked the wrong hard drive save instead of the cloud save.. lost every single car, not only do I have to earn every one of them back.. but I would have to earn every DLC car that was originally free for the first purchase...

You know, when i played this on my 360 i did not run into any errors and i loved this game. The errors might be emulator at fault

DUDE! I remember my friend in 5th grade telling me about that glitch where you get unlimited credit. I remember trying it on the Xbox One later (cause thats the only place I had FH2 on) and it didnt work. He did also inform me beforehand though that it may not work for me because he was on 360 and I was on One

This game was my life back in the day. I remember being so excited to play fh2 after playing fh1 for a couple years. I remember being disappointed because I thought the Xbox one version would be the same as the 360 version and I had the 360. It didn’t make too much a difference tho cause I was only 10. I also remember accidentally finding a money glitch giving me 999 million.

I bought it when it came out, there was invisible wholes in the road, you could jump out bonds for infection, and servers was shit

This was the first game I ever preordered and when I picked it up I was mad. I wasn’t able to pick up an Xbox one because I didn’t have the money for one. I was so mad in fact I didn’t return it to get my money back, but broke it instead so nobody else would deal with that cancer

I dont think it was an issue with graphics. It was lack of optimization, should of been both studios working together. Like atleast the map could be the same. They could of added more foliage, there was more by the road but broke far in the map. They could still add a title update to fix the 360 map.

My FH2 on 360 always crashed if I tried to change cars while I was driving. If I came to a stop first it was fine.

If i remember right the fiesta on the xbox 360 version had a v6 engine sound....

I had FH1 and FH2 on the 360. I was so happy when I finally got an Xbox one 😂 it was so bad. Especially because I was able to play it on a Xbox one that I did not own and went back to the 360.

As a man who had played this version until 2018, I can attest to how bad it is, but the graphics were better on a 360.

FH2 on the XBox 360 looks worse than Forza Motorsport 4. In fact, it looks no better than some of the very early XBox 360 racing games like PGR and Grid.

While everyone where played the Xbox One version, i used to have only the 360 version because at the time i didn't have my own console. Only when i turned 18 so i missed on so many great games.

Fun fact This was my first Forza Game that my parents got me. I now look back at this and oh boy everything just comes back!

I grew up playing the 360 version. It was my first horizon game after owning forza motorsport 2 and falling in love with the franchise in that game. Thanks to this game for my love for cars... I honestly think these games are the reason I'm currently in college for automotive technology.

my first forza experience was FH2 and Forza Motorsport 4 on the 360. it was a great time and i found a couple spots where you could fall through the map. I found out about the missing areas after a couple years.

Played about 300hours of fh2 on the 360 not knowing that there was a Xbox One version, until i went to a friends house and tried it on the one. Big difference, and in 2018 when i got my one and played fh4 for the first time i was blown away, and then when i went back to the 360 for nostalgia i almost got mad the graphics were so bad. Good times and the game that got me into cars

No matter how broken it is, there is always one redeeming factor (for me at least), and that is the modding. You can mod FH2 to death, basically. There is a mod that adds cars from FH1 into FH2, and also a new car that hasn't been in both of the games (Mazda RX3), and they turned the null car into an actual car. It is incredibly easy to make your own engine swaps, or even your own controller layout. I'm now using the Y axis of my right stick to shift. Also, it's possible to swap the engine sounds out for the ones found in Forza Motorsport 4, and I think we can agree that they sound better (yes, there is a distinct difference between FH2 and FM4 sounds)

I remember playing FH2 on Xbox 360 and it was amazing. The graphics weren’t as bad as it is on the emulator. It’s probably to due some limitations of the emulator but it’s not *THAT* terrible

Oh man, I really miss Forza Horizon 1 and 2. Good old days where Forza Horizon was actually good and the devs cared for the game. I remember coming back from school in a hurry just to play Forza Horizon 1 until late. I remember beating that game 4 or 5 times when I was younger. Those were the days man. I wish I could go back on time just to experience Forza Horizon for the first time again

I played so much Xbox 360 FH2 back in the day. I knew all the shortcomings compared to the Xbone version but I still thought it was pretty good. The physics definitely felt more arcady than FH1 so I never put as much time into it as the first game though. The emulator certainly didn't help the graphics any for this video but dang I forgot how low quality the world actually was.

I remember watching yours and Slap trains game plays while i was on the 360, and would always question my game looking terrible until i found out from your comparison video. Still my favorite Horizon game

I had FH2 on the X360 as that was the only console I had at the time (& still have it somewhere). The reason why the games are so different is that they were made by 2 different people. The car list was also a massive disappointment as there were a lot less on the X360. The F&F DLC was good, though no longer available to download. Still have it on my console to play. It was free aswell. FH2 is more like FH1.5.

I think some of the glitches might be to do with the emulator. I remember playing it on my 360 and i cant remember it ever being this bad. The graphics definitely werent this bad…they were bad…but not this bad.

Still a god tier game

Uhhhh, this game really gets me in the feels man. This is what started it all for me, my first Forza experience and first love for cars. A not so normal way to become a motor enthusiast yes, but boy am I so glad I bumped into this game.

FH2 was way ahead of it’s time. The Xbox one version was one of the best looking and sounding games of it’s time. The Xbox 360 version was one of the best potato looking racing games of all time. 😂
