I tried taking my bun in the backyard, large pen area for safety, she sat for 2 hours and did nothing. Brought her back in and she binkied so much to be in her home. She’s free ranged but won’t leave her rugs in the living room.

The salad one is too real 😂 Franklin is such a picky bun, but he adores romaine lettuce! I’ve tried so hard to add variety to his diet but he just will NOT. EAT. IT. So now we just feed him romaine because it makes him happy 😂

My bun hates spinach, so I feed him romaine leaves and spinach-free spring mix, which can be surprisingly hard to find. He'll literally pick out the pieces of spinach and set them aside!

Great video!!! Love love love this! 😊 A good pet mom is always learning 💕 I've dialed back on feeding my buns treats too. And I love your comments about adopting from local animal shelters or bunny rescue organizations. I'll also add it's important for people to consider bunny personality over looks when adopting. Many red-eyed, straight-eared, black, and older bunnies need forever homes too... And they're just as wonderful 😊💞🐰 I have 2 rescue black bunnies and they are the sweetest, funniest personalities!! Cheers and love 💖😊

Your theme with this video is totally true, we only get better at rabbit care with time and experience and things change. I would like to point something out that you said about feeding spring mix. Nothing wrong with feeding it from time to time but, some spring mixes have spinach which is not recommended exclusively for rabbits. Every rabbit is different so, one could be more prone to forming calcium oxalate crystals in their urinary system then another. Eating spinach or other veggies high in oxalic acid or calcium everyday will eventually cause issues like bladder stones, kidney stones, +/- bladder sludge. I work at a vet clinic and saw xrays of a rabbit with two huge kidney stones requiring kidney stone removal surgery because the owner was giving spring mix for about 7 months. The owner brought him in because he was urinating bladder sludge. Just wanted to spread the info so nobody is unknowingly feeding a diet that could potentially lead to urinary issues

Man i have so much respect for how open you are and how much you care about your animal. It's really common in the small-pet keeping world for people to reject new ideas and research, which is unfortunate, so this is so refreshing. I also learned about brachycephalic rabbits so that's cool. :)

I agree with all of your updates! And love the one about treats especially! Because I always felt bad about just using fruit I already had instead of getting those ‘fancy’ advertised bunny treats😅😂 And I find the large area and outside time one interesting! I guess every rabbit is different. My bunny Harvey free roams my bedroom and absolutely loves it when I occasionally open up the rest of the house to him! Especially since he has the choice to come and go as he pleases. And he loves when I take him outside in our yard as well. (Weather permitting) as he immediately runs to our rose bushes to nibble and loves digging the grass up and sunning himself.😂 I also set up a bunny tent outside with food and water and stuff incase he wants that. We actually went on a walk down the sidewalk once with him leading the way😂 And we’ve actually gone camping before in an RV and he absolutely LOVED getting to explore nature and dig and whatnot. (FYI, he always has a harness and leash outside and I make sure there’s no pesticides and check him over when we go back inside)

Some things in spring mix *can* cause gas (arugula, etc ..) and pellets are like dog and cat kibble - they basically just swell up and help the rabbit feel full, and makes them eat less hay. Pellets also suck up liquid when it swells and dehydrates rabbits. I've switched to just hay and red/green leaf lettuce, romaine, butter leaf lettuce. I also sprinkle forage mix a couple times a week and a root forage to get extra vitamins and minerals. (Mine tend to get calcium in their pee when I give herbs with the salad, so I don't do it.) Buns are happy and healthy.

We all change a lot with our rabbits, my cat used to have access to my rabbit and she doesn’t anymore, I also used to be against spring mix!! I think the main point is, no one is the perfect bun parent, or at least not in the beginning, and that’s okay!! I know I definitely wasn’t, and probably still am not, but we all change our opinions over the years, and we shouldn’t be judged for that!

My 1st bun Momo was actually from my bestie's bun. She had their buns separated but the dad got into the mum's X-pen while she had her 1st litter and her mum got pregnant again. Not long after he just escaped and vanished, so there were like 6 buns. I got Momo from her. As for Jin he was a friend of my friend's mother. I wouldn't call them breeders because they weren't selling them but were trying to find good homes for the kids. My friend learned and with their new bun a Jersey Woolie, he was fixed XDD no more accidents there. I had Momo fixed and I had Jin fixed. It's the main thing I look at. When I'm able to get Jin a buddy I won't have the accidental litter problem at my place is a one-pet place and Jin just free roams in my bedroom, so we have a cute bedtime routine.

Thankyou Morgan Always an education, Cinnabun does you credit! Lovey little mischievous inquisitive Bunny, & soooooooo cute Our little bun - Pickles is a grey dwarf lop eared bun he’s around 2 yrs old & has a completely different diet!!! From the very first meal time he would not eat any hay from the first, second & third cut Timothy hay, ordinary & expensive,,,,so many different types he would not touch it & he started to become withdrawn as a pet & didn’t eat! So we decided to give him a bit more salad leaves & Green veg ,,,,,,,,, wow! He changed overnight,,,,,,,we still put hay out,,,,,,,, and chuck it out every day,,,,, I read all the time about their digestive system & the fact they NEED HAY!! 80%+ of their diet, but he has never eaten it, we tried & we’re desperate after 6/7 months to feed him, so have relented & he is thriving but we won’t give up with the hay & grass🐰❤️ Maybe Rabbits in Oxford, England, UK are more fussy!!! But as a male who was bitten to shreds until we neutered him😳🐰 (I’m 62) he is without doubt the most rewarding pet we’ve ever had I have a cuddle with Pickles every morning before work, I’m in construction!!! He loafs before I leave the house in anticipation & waits at the top of the stairs & watches me leave😢 that really pulls at my heartstrings!!! Anyway sidetracked there what I’m trying to say is all of us ,,,,, bunnies,,, hoomans ,,, animals are all different!!🤗 Thankyou for your vids & info Cinnabun & Mum,,,,,,, sorry ‘Mom’ in the US PICKLES, Lynn & David

I live in a one-bedroom apartment and let my bun go wherever he pleases, but he's limited his range to two rooms. I think rabbits just don't want a large home territory. It's like he wants different places to sleep and space to run, but only as much space as he can really feel confident in his knowledge of it. Sometimes people come to visit, and they ask if he's a flight risk, especially if we're carrying furniture in and want to prop open the door. He is not. I have friends with cats that are always trying to get out, so they have to wedge themselves between the door and frame whenever they go in or out to physically block their cats! But my rabbit has never tried to go outside. He's not trapped here. He just really doesn't want to be somewhere else.

For me, free roaming means my bunny gets his open area and I am behind parts of his fencing lol As for changing opinions regarding rabbits and rabbit care. I find it very mature and honest to admit that you've changed your opinion. People grow, bunnies grow, life happens and we need to be able to adapt. I am reassured that you are able to see that Cinnabun is uncomfortable going outside and have decided to let her stay home. That shows you are observant and truely care for the well being of your lil furry angel. No one can fault you for that. Admitting these things on such a public forum will give others who are unsure on how to proceed with caring for their little friends a push to do what is best for their little buddy's and not do somethingthat may not be in the best interest of their little buddy. Thank you for your very informatie video's and your honesty. Cinnabun is truely lucky to have such loving humans ❤❤. P.S. I love watching her cheeks as she nibbles on food, I do the same with my bun. They make food look so delicious!😊

Bravo, Morgan! You have done your fans a great service with this video! Bless you for being so conscientious, courageous, and transparent! And since viewers will be looking for guidance, I think it would be an ideal place for me to leave this tip just one more time. It is a LIFE-SAVING tip about GI stasis. When our little bunny was 2 years old he developed GI stasis. The emergency vet told us to give him a bit of fresh pineapple every day -- NOT canned or dried, but fresh. Fresh pineapple contains an enzyme called bromelain, which helps break down the hair that bunnies ingest while grooming. Our little boy never suffered from GI stasis again, and passed away two summers ago at the age of 13. I hope this tip will help Cinnabun and other bunnies live long, healthy lives! ❤

I had the same discovery about treats! Used to give one or multiple every day because they would go crazy about them. Then my boy got GI stasis, which he has never had with his previous owner. I stopped giving sugary treats and switched to apple wood sticks, saving treats for situations where I have to pick them up.

I also totally change my mind about Holland lop after having one. I will never have a lop again. She will not have a long life, because of bad breeding and it hurts me. It's great that you are open about changes and improvements in your rabbit care. I have also changed a lot and probably will do going forward, too. We can only do the best we can with the information and the beliefs that we have right now, and it's important to be open to changing your mind about things. Also, I totally agree with you on the breeding thing. I have two lionheads, and I feel so bad for them when I have to trim and brush their fur all the time. They really hate it, but theres nothing to do about it. They are adopted and used to live in really bad conditions, so I'm just happy they get to live their best lives despite their annoying fur. At least it makes them really cute 🥰

You are so welcome to change your mind, you are fully human, we all do ! We are adjusting as we grow and our bunny does as well. Your channel is always kind, uplifting, helpful, and endearing for advice for us bunny 🐰 owners. I’m new in this but I recommend hiding “pellets” in areas of your home like hide in seek. It lights up bunny brains to search and dig and gives the a more enriched activity for how they are designed to forage. If interviewed they would wiggle a nose of appreciation for your food finding game. Thank you so much for all your videos. You helped me become bunny adopted parent ❤️ because of your enthusiasm!

It's definitely ok to change our minds about things. We are all learning in this big old world! I have changed my mind about my buns over the years. I am lucky to have a vet who specializes in rabbits, and she says all rabbits need is timothy hay and good quality pellets to be healthy. Most rabbits can't even eat greens without having digestive issues...such as soft stool. My buns seem to do ok with a piece of romaine lettuce as a treat every now and then. This is probably my favorite video by you...keep up the great work ! Cinnabun is a lucky bun. 😁

I 've been the owner of several rabbits and I can say rabbit care has come a long ways. I purchased my furry sweetheart in 2022 and he's a lionhead. Thank you for the heads up concerning brachycephalic and lopped ears. He's had GI twice and I've also have limited treats and definitely less lettuce. He's eating a lot more hay and he's doing so much better. Car riding, he let me know today he's just not loving it. I love all of your helpful information!

My rabbit, Muffin, is a free roamer and really loves under my bed as her special spot. I think all rabbits should have one where you know and they know they cannot be reached. Once she is under my bed I know she will be sleeping or is not in the mood. I can easily get her out with a couple taps on the floor by the bed,

I think a lot of these things always depends on the owner and the bunny. I see a lot of bunny youtubers who only have one rabbit so they sometimes seem to forget how different bunnies can be. Of course some things like main diet and housing are the same for all bunnies but the details differ a lot. I currently have a male and female and they couldn't be more different. One gets diarrhea from lettuce, one doesn't. One will eat anything she can get her paws on (the one that gets diarrhea from lettuce) and the other is a very picky eater. The female does a lot of exploring but the male never leaves their 'home rug', so even though he has the room to free roam he just doesn't want to that much. The boy is very calm but gets angry at noises the doesn't recognize (starts thumbing when my bf is singing), the female doesn't care at all. I once tried to walk them on a leash and they both loved the grassy field. The boy was just hopping calmy sniffing the grass but the girl started running and doing a lot of binkies which isn't very safe. So regardless of your opinion on walking bunnies it was obviously less safe for one than the other. All of that being said, I think it's nice you revisit your opinions! Learning from mistakes or just finding things that work better is good and makes you a good owner in my opinion :) I had bunnies way longer than you've had but I still have learned so much stuff from you. My female bunny is also prone to stasis and thanks to you I figured out that she was especially having it during molding like Cinnabun. I wanted to add that I don't think all breeders are bad. If there wouldn't be any breeders there would be no bunnies anymore in 10 years. But the difference between 'back yard' breeders and ethical breeders is sooooo huge. I breed pet rats and I would consider myself an ethical breeder. Ethical breeders don't breed excessively, they don't breed animals with unhealthy qualities, they don't breed sick animals and they look at the shape/size and personality of every pairing they do. We work to make the species/breeds better and healthier, not for colors and looks. As an example, there are definitely different color/marking in rats that are known to cause problems like megacolon. Ethical breeders would never breed with those, even if they look pretty or cute.

My bunny broke two toes on her right back foot a few days ago and I’m so thankful for the 24-hour emergency treatment center we took her to. I’m still not 100% sure how she broke her toes but I have a suspicion (and it involves a ramp “made” for bunnies). Anyways, I’m just sitting next to her now watching CB Sundays. One thing I learned having Butterscotch is just how fragile and stoic rabbits are. Butterscotch was dumped outside when she was a baby and we adopted her. She had GI stasis two months after we got her and I never take her on any outings because I know how fragile she is. We are going on vacation this summer and I am having my mom fly out to stay with her b/c she’s the only person I trust to watch her for 3 weeks.

They are wonderful company for each other and enjoy quiet time in CocoPuffs bunny proofed bedroom. When I open Cocos room for him to come play in the house (supervised) every morning and afternoon he comes racing down the hall looking for LuLu..it’s very sweet and I love them so much. I too make salads for CocoPuff that would rival a salad served at a five star 🌟 restaurant 😹😹😹😹

When I adopted my bunnies from the rescue, I did not know much. I actually went to adopt a cat, but they were there for a long time and hey, how much harder could a bunny be from a cat/dog, right? I quickly learned 😅 and, 2 years in, I am still adapting according to what I see in my bunny. No 2 bunnies are alike, one doesn’t want to go outside, others binky like crazy when they feel grass or dirt. Just observe your bunny and act accordingly. So yeah, we live, we learn and we adapt 😊

I think we all change things we do and use for our bunnies. Even with our human babies!! I got my boy from a neighbor girl who no longer had time for him. He is in my home office with me so we spend a lot of time together! Love your videos!

Well said 👍🏻 We all live and learn. I have found an enormous difference when I got another bunny. My first one died of old age. She was so gentle and sweet. We got another one and wow what a difference, she is very full of herself and bossy. Obviously we love her very much. But they are all so different too. XXX Thank you for your help and advice. 🐰💕

Banana - ever since our vet talked about the disadvantages of feeding rabbits bananas, which they would never find themselves, and how multiple buns got sick due to it, we stopped giving it to her, even when it was barely once a week. Forcing having baby gas drops - this is also not a thing where I live anyway, but I just stopped acting like this is a must, especially when rabbit savy vets never advise to give it on your own hand - issues can happen outside the gassy stomach and giving gas drops could potentially worsen the issue, same as giving CC without proper investigation of the bun, that could lead to blockage and at the end passing of the bun, which they witnessed in practice multiple times. We are very careful about what to feed her and how, and she has thankfully only had stasis once, 2 years ago and that was in relation to bladder infection. She does have some minor issues with leaving cecotrope stains (your bun should not leave the stains, and ofc not the cecos, if they are properly fed or have no issues with any of the food and have good mobility) but we mostly figured it out (no it was not treats). I am hoping she stays this healthy bun that she is for a long time ❤

@SincerelyCinnabun supporting rescues also doesn't mean you did anything wrong getting Cinnabun, Pom Pom was from a pet store yet he and I were meant to be together through his short life and battle with cancer. I also believe you and Cinnabun were meant for each other. We adopted our second bun after a period of fostering. Its important we give them their best life regardless of where they came from xxx

Being open to learning and changing your views based on new information and experiences is a great thing. I think it shows maturity and openness to personal growth. I'm sort of with you on treats. You've touched on it on the channel in the past, but something you can do to control what's going your treats is making them yourself. You can dehydrate fruits or even bake timothy cookies yourself with whatever fruit combination you want. Mine really like banana and strawberry, but I've also done banana and blueberry and I'd like to try mango and pineapple sometime. I'm mostly with you on holland lops. They're adorable, sweet bunnies but continuing to propagate the breed is borderline cruel. I've suggested it before, but if you like the pocket sized breeds then polishes are a great breed. All of mine have been very energetic and friendly and the breed isn't by design prone to health issues. Even more than looks though, different breeds can come in different sizes and have different personalities. Like for instance, I got my holland because I wanted to bond her with my older rabbit (he was 7) and I wanted a pocket breed that was known to be cuddly and relatively low energy. After he passed away, when I was ready to get another rabbit I wanted one that would be spunky, energetic and friendly and come in a small package, so I went with another polish. So in a way, I've learned that choice of breed is actually a very important decision because different breeds can trend with different temperaments that may be great for some but not for others. I do agree that sheltered rabbits should be the first choice for buying a rabbit and pet stores should be the last.

I'm so glad you changed your mind about treats! I remember writing a comment probably two years ago or something advising you not to give her so many treats. I'm not sure what I said, I didn't want to come up as rude or anything, I was worried when you talked about her having gi stasis. I used to buy a lot of treats for my bunny thinking I was making him happy and then I started researching the ingredients on those treats and became aware that most of those ingredients are not actually safe for rabbits and realised he doesn't need them, he is happy with any food I give him and most importantly, he's healthy.

I really recommend House Rabbit Society for rabbit education (Free Zoom classes), and for rabbit rescue. Many states have their own chapter as well (for example, IN has Indiana House Rabbit Society and we found our rabbit savvy boarding/care through them.) ❤🐇

Scottish Fold cats have similar breeding issues - when the genes are mixed in wrong proportions, it can cause so much trouble for poor animals. I hope people will come to understand that soon... I once found a cat who looked like she was hit by a car. Turned out, she just had multiple bone problems due to her being a Scottish fold. I suppose that was the reason she ended up in the street. She was such a sweet baby, I'm very glad to have found her.

Great video, Morgan! We’ve had Winnie for 4 years and have gone through similar shifts. Just by luck, we did rescue her, but I didn’t know then what I know about breeders. I also had no clue about the health risks the breed has. I have felt SO fortunate that, like CB, Winnie has not had dental or ear issues. But she does have the same sensitive gut CB has. We still gave her “stick,” but stick is smashed into a gazillion tiny pieces and she only gets one micro piece per day. And, sadly, NO bananas for her. She’s adjusted, but I still feel mean. I read somewhere once that all dwarf breeds are more prone to gut issues and it certainly seems that the majority of bunnies I see with sensitive guts are dwarfs. The article talked about why and I can’t recall the specifics, but it basically hypothesized that it’s because they’ve got the same complex GI system smushed into a smaller space. Or less GI length to do the same complex work of a larger bunny’s system. Sorry this is long … it’s an interesting and pertinent topic to me. Love you, CB, and your videos!! 🥰

I have 5 bunnies 1 angora female 2 lionheads boys and 1 Rex , people next door were breeding them ,well they ended up in my yard ,I started feeding them and they stayed,I had them spayed and neutered, then rescued 1 from my daughters job ,a neighbor sold their house and just let 2 of them go ,we don’t know what happened to the other one,but we have one ,it’s sad these breeders don’t care ,these bunnies were not taking care of at all ,I called animal control a few times they would take some probably the sicker ones,my heart just breaks for them, and I also agree we always learning about them,my bunnies are free roaming but not in my bedrooms 3 bunnies are in my porch, which is like a living room, and are inside living room and kitchen
