Revisiting The Kitchen Cabinets (Part 1) - Escaping The Mouse - ETM-1005
Let's try this again. A couple of years ago I attempted to replace the kitchen cabinets and it didn't go as planned. This time I'm going to Home Depot and give them a try. It couldn't turn out much worse than with Lowes, right?

I love the look of the “panel” one, too, Breck- kind of a country/vintage look! As another viewer said, I bet your mom is so thrilled to be able to help you finally replace those cabinets. And what a neat reminder it will be knowing that she helped every time you see them! Love it! ❤

You could save a lot by just getting new doors, painting it all white, and have them raised.

Breck, those first tiles that that you liked are rough and three dimensional will capture grease in the air when cooking and will build up in the crevices, kinda like your existing cabinet corners and no way to really clean them out even with a brush. In just a few years it would probably become unsightly. The smoother the better. They don't have to be shiny just not porous. Best of luck.

I wondered what happened with your deposit on the old cabinets. If I remember right you said you were going to talk to them about canceling the order then you just dropped it and never said what happened.

I did discuss the issue, but I think most of that discussion took place on the live streams. Ultimately, I ended up paying the restocking fees because the only other option was to have them wreck my credit rating, refer me to collections and get the money anyway. I did agree at the time that if I cancelled the order that there would be restocking fees, but I didn't think that the reason for the cancellation would be that they would be 2.5 months late on delivery with no estimate of when delivery would occur. I will have a very serious discussion with Home Depot before I proceed with this order, although I don't think there will be a problem this time. I already knew it was a bad idea getting involved with Lowe's when I placed the original order with them due to bad experiences I had with them in the past. There is no history with me and Home Depot like that.
