Hi, I've been watching many tutorials about shared parameters/schedule/materials takeoff and so on but all the information is floating and I can't finish the puzzle. I work with pole sheds and my goal is to do a simple material takeoff for it. I'm pretty sure this is not a big deal at all. Example of one of the families i'm using on it: Columns: Structural columns (host family), with a couple of plates (nested face based), bolts and screws (nested face based on plates family). My first trial was creating shared parameters within the screw family, called the group as "screws and bolts" and parameter as "fasteners count" (probably i'm not naming it appropriately either because I still didn't understand the concepts of shared parameters/scheduling). After adding this new shared parameter to the screw family, reloaded back to nested -> host -> project, ran the schedule and I couldn't find that parameter on the list. Obs: I don't have problems in modeling all the elements such screws and bolts (just mentioning that because on other topics in this forum users were concerned about the amount of families loaded into project and model perfomance issues). Anyways, if you have any suggestion of a tutorial video or any guidance, I would appreciate it. Thanks!
