Revit - Importing Details as Drafting Views from Another Project 

I think Revit has a major weakness when it comes to detail items. A lot of times, details are the same from project to project. Say anchor bolt details of a raised foundation. As far as I know when you create a detail item, Revit forces you to create it and keep it in the view and level you are at. When you transfer to sheet, you need to duplicate and crop view if you want to isolate the detail which is common practice. Also, this makes it difficult to re-use that asset in another project. As a trick, I'm creating details under Legends in my project browser. That way you can copy the project file and delete everything besides the details hidden under legend and be able to re-use your assets by simply dragging them into sheet view and adjust scale as necessary with ease.

Do you know how to Bring an Actual *Detail View* from another project, not a *Drafting View?* Or if impossible how to convert a *Detail View* to a *Drafting View* without exporting it to DWG first.

Thanks, but you skipped a boatload of steps right after "insert views from file." I don't any of the files your screen shows. I don't even see any of the directories that popped up.
