I want a mac for the battery life, and the design, and not as my main machine. So to me just being able to open a file and see my floor plans is enough. Thanks. I do wish they made a native version that would take advantage of the CPU. For a 3k eur machine, it’s pretty sad…

@@ricardocarvalho2197 , that depends on your project model sizes. If you are doing mostly small projects, the 32 Gb is plenty. But if larger projects are needed, I would recommend maxing our RAM as that is the biggest controlling factor on what this is capable of in Archicad based on my experience with it.
@@ColorBlindArchitect Hey I hope you’re well I am myself use ArchiCAD for all my designs 80% of them but in the last video I noticed that your Keynote system within CI to Keynote is what I have been looking for so I was asking if I can get a copy of it or something of the sort. When is the Excel file because I will have to look at it to make it a local standard but it does fit the bill that I am looking for.
That would depend on your Mac’s specs. Boot camp simply allows the Mac hardware to be used as a Windows install that uses 100% of the computer. Parallels runs Windows as a virtual machine and would therefore only use up to half of your system resources.
Big thanks ! so I can buy an M1 max for my studies ( 80% of my current stuff is on Mac). Can I work during 1 year ( 5 hours per week ) on revit with my future M1 ?
Yes, it’s plenty powerful for it. I would still recommend a Windows desktop for your daily driver if you are doing a lot of Revit work. But is just for school and small projects, the M1Max will make you happy.
Working on Archicad on M1Max I get about 5 hours before it drops below 40-50%. I haven’t tried Revit for such a long time on just battery, but I would suspect it would burn faster but probably not by much unless you’re using tons of graphics power.
As you can see in the video, I'm using Parallels for Mac which allows me to run Windows 11 for ARM as a virtual machine within Mac OS. Revit works great on it. I do recommend for primary workloads, you should still use a Windows based desktop for Revit. But if you really like having a Macbook as your portable device, it is quite functional.
@@user-ii9cm7qq5f , I'm only aware of Parallels giving you the ability to run Windows apps on the Apple Silicon based Macs since Bootcamp is no longer an option. Rosetta is more for x86 Mac apps to run on Apple Silicon Macs. I'm not familiar with Crossover, but I'll look into it.
