Hello, It's usually a simple case of not enough coats of dye has been applied yet (ghosting of the filler) through the dye. Applying more coats should give you more uniform/full coverage!

I measured the depth of the cushion, mine was 5" so I ordered sheet of medium firm memory foam (wish I had done firm) that I cut to the cushion size with an electric carving knife I got at the thrift store. I used a marking pen and ruler to mark where to cut the foam. I got 3 bottom cushions out of one sheet. leather dyes are super common. I use them to repair car interiors. I think there's two issues. 1. doing an entire couch is going to take a lot of time... I mean a LOT of time... because 2. You are going to have to apply many many coats to get a consistent smooth even color. and 3. Buying one bottle isn't likely going to be enough. You'll get halfway through the project and discover you need more.... I don't know what a bottle of this costs, but you can at least double it. to get your couch done to a satisfactory point. Maybe triple... Also, I do not believe these couches were the final color when they were new. leather does not fade this much. Look at old car leather interiors that bake in the sun day after day. Yes they dry out and show a little fading. They crack and start peeling. But they do not usually completely change color like this. The company needs to come out with WAY more colors so you restore your couch to what it was instead of giving it a completely new color.

@@Sebastian-S They are slightly different. When he shows the before picture it looks like one cushion was probably getting more sun damage than the other. I'd say that the overall transformation is amazing enough that I would never have made that nitpick though.

@@PrettyGuardian I'm sorry, english isn't my native language and maybe I misunderstood. But to me, the repaired couch looks more or less like the original one that he compared it to. And I interpreted that the above poster thought that the finished work was way of compared to the new one? Please correct me if i'm wrong.

@@PrettyGuardian ok, i see what the above poster referred to. On the finished couch the right cushion is more shiny than the left one. I stand corrected.
