The topic is very interesting because I use caffeine on a daily basis. However, I’m still 1 minute in, and I have a couple of comments on the video editing: 1. Please reduce the camera switching. 1 camera is enough. 2. The voice is echoy. Consider applying a filter to it. 3. The background music is distracting because it’s volume is very close to your speaking volume. I know your channel is new and I wanted to give you my feedback so you can improve your video quality. Good luck.

Your feedback is really helpful! I’ll keep these things in mind next time. Thank you!

I just finished the video. I was hoping to see more code. Maybe see the specific interfaces and how you changed them. Maybe see you run the cli tools. Idk, maybe a Timelapse of the entire process.

You may have a point. I guess (for now) I’m approaching this like a developer rather than a creator / blogger 🤔 I just imagined that if I was watching a video about an open-source project, I wouldn’t want to spend much time looking at the code I can browse myself on GitHub. Thanks for your perspective!

Yeah, I was hoping for more show and less tell. A life refactoring of the codebase would be a lot more instructive and interesting.

I don't understand -- the app has yet another owner? It wasn't long ago that it was revived by some little software company, if I recall correctly. Did they announce somewhere that they don't want to deal with it any more?

That’s a sad story, actually 😩 The app was abandoned once (by Lighthead), then open-sourced, then picked up by IntelliScape (that’s the little software company you’re referring to, I guess: its fork has the most stars on GitHub), and then abandoned again: IntelliScape last updated the app in May 2020, before Big Sur, etc., which to me speaks louder than any words. Nobody owns the app at this point-but also not many in the developer community seem to care about it ☹️
