Great job applying all of that fiberglass. You have such a casual demeanor as you work in the videos. When you calmly say “your happy” with the completed fiberglass work, I read it that you are shouting and dancing about it! If I just completed that task I would be too happy to even talk about it!
Many woodworking videos make me want to do more woodworking. Fiberglassing videos always make me want to avoid ever working with fiberglass. You’ve done a ton of work. Congrats and keep it up.
Hi Phil, I have watched all your Jabiru progress videos with great interest. I am in awe of your dedication , hard work and meticulous attention to detail. Looking forward to seeing her in the water in Pittwater when she's finished. Fond memories of all the CORC days! Best to you and Wendy.
Hi Frank, Thanks for your message and support. You and Beth are invited out for a day / weekend when she is back in the water. About 18 months if all goes to plan.
Working into the night!, you must have a patient wife (maybe) I'm currently renovating a 1950's cottage and I'm constantly in trouble for working after sundown. Look forward to your posts
Hi Phil, jabiru is looking fantastic. Keep up the good work. I really get excited when I watch these videos to see the old girl getting closer. Is it go onto the water again Cliff from Queensland Australia?
I don't know much about the glassing of boats. Why did you choose to lap the glass keel to gunnel and not bow to stern? I figure it is about application so is water resistance negligible with delamination?
Probably adds about 150 kg or more by the time the fairing is finished. Not too much when you consider it weighed 2800 kg with the old engine when she was lifted into place.
We used to have issues with geckos dropping down from the workshop rafters to inspect the resin before it set. Removing them, sometimes surgically, was messy! Do you have any similar issues with, say, flies
