I know you work in rivers and could possibly answer my question please ::: It says by the EA for north west rivers during the close season that you can fly fish rivers using flies / Use certain baits ( worms , shrimps , prawns sandeels ) And use artificial lures during the close season . Will it be ok to go fishing still to a river with these methods like it says during close season ?
I have already asked the envirnomental agency on there facebook page without an answer , I have put a post on the river ribble page and river alt facebook pages , I am guessing it is ok to fish in the close season then
@@fishing-fiend Thanks mate ! The fishing laws are quite short in detail arnt they . I can not fish my local river Alt because i cant not prove that there are trout living in there but the rivers ribble and elsewhere will be fine . I do check the river levels site quite often ..yeah the river levels will be high today with the rain . I went to church deeps on the ribble on the 14th march and got there without checking river levels before leaving and the river was 6 ft up than normal so missed that end of season session . @@fishing-fiendThe sankey brook I am not sure or have enough knowledge of that waterway yet fishing fiend. ,.The sankey does look a nice water way . I have seen catches of double figure barbel come from the sankey brook . I am going to have a walk down the river tawd at some point soon . I seen some decent fish coming out ( not trout ) Im a member of a private syndicate so have a lake to fish all year round but rivers are far more interesting .
It's been a bit cold for my old bones, and have been doing work on my house... rods being dusted off and tackle prepared for a start maybe this coming weekend

I have just purchased an underwater fish camera to survey my local river Alt . The camera i got is called an adalov 20m dvr recording underwater fish camera . Do you use an underwater fish camera yourself fishing fiend ?

Excellent video Mike congratulations to all involved in such a fantastic production. I think the EA need to be more active prosecuting where these types of rivers and waterways are concerned. As well as fishing I like many others use our canals and rivers for recreational paddling and then there's those who swim in them. The water companies really don't care as it's all about profits for shareholders, they will cut corners at every possible opportunity. I think the figures they published concerning sewage releases 384,000 in 2022 are frightening. The fines they receive are a pittance in the grand scheme of things and until they start making individuals accountable things aren't going to improve at all. The answer is deprivatization but unfortunately I don't see this in my lifetime
