@@TheBeakersDream Didn't the Chinese reply to a British message in Latin as they had only traded with the Romans in Europe prior or at least the only European trade partner that had directly sent messages to the Emperor
@@magithegreat They did, but it was because Portuguese Jesuits had been working in the court of some Ming emperors and they taught Latin to Christian converts (idk about the Qing, but the Jesuits did continue their activities during that period from the enclave of Macau).
Idk about you but its mostly the roleplaying and seeking nice borders which does me in. If you play opportunistically and without much regard for your characters or realism its quite easy to just absolutely annihilate the world.
Would make for an interesting history book, tho definitely unrealistic and really really would inflate Chinese Ego's If some random Chinese adventurer started a dynasty that would recreate the Roman Empire
I’m not joking, I am a Chinese. In Chinese internet many proclaimed to be spiritually belonging to a nation of a group of people. So there are groups of “Spiritually Romans” “Spiritually Soviets” “Spiritually Germans” and more. Although it is obviously a joke, it has become an online phenomenon.

Royal court is finally here (and so is an upload - about time!). I've recently moved apartments AND have a new channel redesign so things have been busy! More content to come very soon, let me know what videos you guys would like to see in the comments below
I recommended it in the last vid and I'll recommend again; African Pagan start going on to eventually conquer the uk and creating the African United Kingdom with African and Celtic cultures being merged to top it off. P.S great vid as always happy to see more ck3 recently
The Chinese who visited Constantinople in the... I think the 700's? Were massively impressed by Rome and the Queen of Cities. And to be fair, Rome had a lot of shit most people saw as magical. Mechanical birds, lions, a moving Thron, et cetera.
Pronouncing the names in modern Mandarin is about as accurate as using the English names and English pronunciations for the Romans. We need a classical Chinese speaker + classical Latin speaker.
Very interested to know how ya pulled that one off, considering china ain't even on the vanilla ck3 map (unless you consider counties with Chinese culture to be china) but imma have to watch the video to know.
There are some counties with Chinese cultures on the veeeeery edge of the map. It’s not China proper, but it’s as close as you can get without massive mods.
-It was reported that the Chinese once went against a Testudo formation when fighting a mercenary force at the westernmost fringes of their empire. In this case, it's likely these men were either legionary defectors from the Byzantine empire, POW's/escaped slaved from Sassanid Persia who went bandit long enough to re-equip themselves then went mercenary, steppe-barbarians who'd adopted Roman styles of armor and maneuver (like the saxons with the shield-wall and mail) or some combination of the three. -Similarly, the Chinese did NEARLY interact with Rome proper at one point. Their diplomats made it as far as what's modern-day Kuwait/Iraq before figuring it was just a myth and coming home. If they didn't make a wrong turn along the way, they would've come up on, if I'm remembering the dates right, a Rome that still controlled the whole Eastern Mediterranean before later losses to the Persians and Arabs. I think the last Sassanid heir also fled to China after the muslim conquest of Persia, and the Chinese court supported him and his successors claims for a generation or two. If they did manage to properly talk to Rome be neat if they did the same with some long-lost Roman legionary with ties to the current imperial house. Like just imagine all of Europe vying for a legitimate claim to the legacy of Rome and some Chinese guy only 1/8th Greco-Roman by that point rolls up with an army equipped in some hybridized Roman/Chinese style.
The Roman and The Han did meet the Roman calling it Serica for the land of silk and the Chinese calling them Daqin Literally the great Qin The name of the founding dynasty of China they view Rome as the only other proper civilization the two traded Glass and silk
The Romans and the Chinese did meet. It's actually rather funny because the Chinese viewed Rome as the only other "civilised" people in the world while Rome viewed them with disdain. There was, at some point, a "Roman craze" in the Chinese imperial court where all the courtiers would dress up in Roman style garments and some of them even learnt Latin.
if we include byzantium then the interaction goes much further since contacts by that point were quite common via trade. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smuggling_of_silkworm_eggs_into_the_Byzantine_Empire
@@94Newbie It was still the Roman Empire. That was how the people saw themselves, that was what the state called itself, and it was a direct continuation of the Roman state.
When I saw the title I thought the campaign was going to be based on the movie "Dragon Blade" with a custom Roman enclave conquering westward so they may return home and once again see the Light of Rome. But this is good too. "Brutus... Geld him!"
I really wish CK3 was more conducive to your style of video it simply isnt eventful enough for you to really do deep dives into the lore of every playthrough but for what its worth they are by far the most entertaining CK3 videos out there for me personally and your amazing story telling is always highly appreciated.
I wonder if the Unify Italia decision is even available here. Presumably he could still create Italia after conquering Corsica, and he has most of Croatia and Sicily. Would just be a fun way to move forward
And the map of East Asia did not do, I hope a late DLC remedy, although the game official said that do not understand the system of East Asia, but the Roman provincial system did not do it. The clothes and clothes of most Han people are basically different.
I have a couple of silly empire reborns, but I think some will work on EU4 and some on CS3; -Recreating the Prussian Empire as Chile. -Recreating the Spanish Empire as Japan. -Recreating the Holy Roman Empire as Brazil. -Recreating the Chinese Empire as Rome. -Recreating the Third Reich as Argentina. -Recreating the French Empire as Haiti. -Russian South America; God knows how this happens.
I just discovered this video and had to subscribe because the overall writing is great and the jokes made me laugh. I too love alliteration, and I had to pause on Cena Mao because I couldn’t believe what my eyes were telling my brain. Every time you were talking about something innocent-sounding and showed a close up of “Castrated”, I couldn’t stop laughing. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🏆
HOW THE FUCK HE CONVERTED THE POPE IN HIS PET!!! I didn't know that was possible. And why France, England or Holy Roman Empire did nothing about it?! The things that can be done in this game are hilarious
not to be picky, but Im stunned how the pronunciation of "Luo" changes at least 4 times in the first 5 minutes 1. Luu-oh 2. Luoh? 3. Lao 4. Luwow The most correct should sound like "Lwoh" Good video all around tho
Wow thats very creative! Keep up good work :)). Also if you wanna clean all notifications faster, you can go to a notification and right click on clean button which is at right side. Sorry for bad English btw 😄
